F*** fullscreen.
That's all I've gotta say.

Widescreen, unless fullscreen is the only option.
Really don't understand how anyone could hate those black bars. I mean, it's not like they put anything there to distract you from the movie. And if you turn out all the lights, in 5 minutes you forget about them anyway.

I go with whatever the original aspect ratio was. If the movie was shot for Widescreen, I buy the widescreen disc; if it was shot for full frame, I buy it full frame.

Widescreen, easily. I only buy fullscreen when I'm forced to, as I hate having stuff cut out on the sides, or if for some crazy reason it was the original aspect ratio. f*** pan-and-scan.

Widescreen and I like now that I own a widescreen tv I don't have to worry about those black bars on my screen.
Still I prefer to have the OAR. Now other people in my family prefer full screen and I wonder what they're going to do when they get a widescreen tv.

Crazy reasons including the fact that widescreen cinematography didn't exist until the fifties? Or like the dvd of chopping mall where lionsgate sat on their butts and just released a pretty piss poor vhs transfer to dvd? From my experience as a horror fan some dvds you have to take what you can get. Chopping Mall isn't likely to be high on anyone's list for a special edition.

Definitely widescreen.
It's how He intended movies to be seen.

Widescreen for the same reasons the OP cited.
