D.S.R. it would have been great if he pulled that sack off his head and there stood... a handsome, refined gentleman. A Bateman type of killer if you will. That would have been a good shock for the crowd.

That would have been a good shock for the crowd. Well, okay. I could see how having no idea what's behind the sack is something of a double edged sword. Although, if you wanna get really comical with it, he should've pulled the sack off his head and there stood...a T-REX!!! ;D

That would be great. Particularly if that T-Rex acted like the Raptors from The Critic's version of Jurrasic Park II. Pulling out a pipe and wearing some reading glasses.

A New Dimension in Terror... Friday the 13th part III~ Ok, let me just say what's the deal with the opening scene? So they show the last few minutes of II and then cut to a new segment with Jason crawling away, then cut to a corn ball married couple with Jason stalking them while showing no worse for wear, weird. ~ The news report says that Ginny is the only survivor of part II, so I guess that answers that question. ~ I wonder why Jason feels the need to hide out in a barn, why not go back to his little fort? ~ The characters seem jumbled for some reason, I guess they're all pals, but I dunno, something about them all together is odd. ~ One of the Gals mentions she's pregnant, for some reason I found that interesting. ~ What's up with "Cheech and Chong"? ;D ~ Crazy Hobo is no Crazy Ralph that's for sure. ~ Those bikers are a pretty ummm, interesting, Friday the 13th is starting to get it's stride with random victims. ~ Did I mention this is filmed in totally awesome 3D? Well it is and they use about 85% of it for that married couple at the start. We also do get an awesome Yo-Yo tho' ~ Odd choice of music in that store, playing the theme to the movie, how weird is that? ~ Shelly is one big fat oaf ain't he. ;D ~ Are those bikers planing on burning down the barn? Talk about over reacting. ~ Fox has an awesome death. ~ Chris is just a liar right? The story about being molested or whatever by Jason when out in the woods and then waking up in bed with her parents never saying a word about it sounds like BS to me. She was probably just drunk or something and killed someone. ;D ~ There's 2 separate scenes of 2 different guys taking a dump in this, I don't know why I noticed that, but I did. ~ There's also 2 separate guys Shelly and Ali that are put out of action early but actually die later on. ~ Yah, Jason gets his mask, and does a neat little kill to boot. ~ Andy has a pretty epic death, like spit at the groin or something, ouch. ~ Debbie also goes down nice, and while reading Fangora magazine, 25 years of Godzilla and Tom Savini new master of makeup. ~ Chris also likes epic barricades as well by the look of it. ~ Is this a farm house or a haunted house? Towards the end there the doors and windows are just opening and closing to their own accord, sure it's windy but come on man. ~ Just as a little note to those who saw the trailer to the new Friday and didn't like that Jason was running, watch this flick cuz Jason is hauling ass even with a hurt leg he's still moving at a good clip. ~ Something about Jason rummaging around looking for Chris and generally being pissed off seems strange, almost "too human" so to speak. ~ This flick is our first indication that Jason is a bit tougher then your average bear, surviving his wounds from II, getting beat the Hell up, knifed, hung and axed. ~ I love that part when Jason is knocked down and is hunting around for a weapon, he's just like come on, come one, come on, ooh machete sweet. ~ Jason does look pretty great in this, he went stark raving bald for some reason, but his face is pretty good and scary without being over the top. ~ I don't know why, but for whatever reason this feels like a forgettable chapter in the Friday series, it's not that it's terrible or anything it's just kind of there and the characters are a bit bland. ~ The kills however are much improved over II though with the exception of Rick which is just terrible, thank you 3D. ~ Friday the 13th III theme, super funky disco man. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ODm01T3zY-w

Erisi as for the Jason being "Too Human" thing when he was pissed off acting, one thing a lot of people forget is that before his resurection in the cemetary Jason wasn't as much of an unstopable undead machine.
He ran, got hurt, showed that he actually felt pain, etc. He really was just like a completely insane person but pushed to some extra limits.
It really wasn't until his graveyard ressurection that he became the Zombie-Jason that everyone thinks of when they hear his name. That's when he really started to gain his powers as well.

Also there was a Alternate ending where Jason actually decapitating Chris in a dream sequence instead of the one featuring Mrs. Voorhees. Pictures of this scene are in the book Crystal Lake Memories.

Part 3 may be my favorite of the "Human Jason" movies. As much as I like Final Chapter, something about Part 3 has always appealed to me. Maybe it's the super funky disco theme?

Agreed 10,000% on the comment about Jason running - human Jason ran, terminator Jason did not. While you are right on that Jason changes from film to film, he is essentially two distinct characters - pre- and post-death.
Anyways, while this film has some truly craptacular acting, I actually believe this is the BEST movie in the series in one aspect - sympathy for the victims. As you said, there's a pregnant girl, there's SHELLY (the single most awesome character in the entire series other than Jason himself), a lovestruck loser who just wants a little attention, there's Vera - the girl who was actually beginning to warm up to Shelly (and was poor, as evidenced by the "food stamps" comment in the gas station), and there's Chris - whose story of her encounter with Jason is debated by fans to this day. Possible rape? It adds a new dimension to Jason's back story and gives it a good, perverse tinge. I do have to add, however, that while I think Chris was a well-written character, eeee-GOD Dana Kimmell was terrible. Thank Jeebus that they didn't go with THIS particular "set up a crazy survivor" movie scenario - imagine a "Chris the Killer" movie.
Still, it's not like any of that mattered - Larry Zerner, Shelly himself, says that Steve Miner didn't even really care about the performances when he was directing this movie - everything was about getting the 3D gags to go right. While people say that Paramount was always embarrassed of Friday the 13th, that could NOT have been the case at this time - at least not 100%. The budget of this flick is always listed at around $4 or $5 million, but the producers of the movie estimate that the total cost of actually getting this thing in to theaters - which included installing 3D lenses in close to 2,000 screens - was around $10 million, HUGE for the time in terms of a horror movie.
And yes, Andy's death was quite epic. ;D

One final thought on Friday III: This really does seem like they wanted to do the copycat killer/new killer angle as really the killer in this could be anyone. The odd opening added with the fact that the word "Jason" is never said kind of hints that they just had the new killer script and just said screw it and went with it without a re-write. Anyway... Three Times Before You Have Felt The Terror, Known The Madness, Lived The Horror. But This Is The One You've Been Screaming For.... Friday the 13th part IV: The Final Chapter~ First off this opening did it right, they do the quick wrap up of the first 3 and then directly go off the end of 3 with Jason still in the barn and his "corpse" being hauled away. This is a direct sequel in every sense of the word, much like Halloween 1 and 2. ~ Does scaring a girl really work in real life to make her like you, guys do it all the time in these flicks and this one is no exception with that creepy mortician guy and his overly hot girlfriend. ~ Is that a legit work out video or a porn that has a workout theme, cuz that don't look like a legit workout video. ~ Seeing Jason's breath in the cooler was an awesome touch. ~ The mortician gets the kill of a life time, his freaking head is sawed off. ~ One thing I noticed was there's quite a few scenes of on coming dread, the girls seem quite scared even though nothing happened yet. ~ I want to live wherever it is that random girls emerge out of the woods and want to skinny dip with you, no questions asked. ~ How many times is the term "dead f***" used? 10? 20? ~ I don't know about you, but the guy armed with a rifle that I just picked up in the woods who starts asking if there's any kids or other people around is the last person I'm inviting into my house. ~ Again with scaring people for no reason, Tommy must like that guy or something. ~ Is Jimmy on crack or having an epileptic fit? ~ Paul you cad, ditching your hot girlfriend for the girl you just met in the woods. ~ Tina, what a slut. "I did...but now I wanna be with you" good lord. ~ Jason making a pretty decent kill while in the water...hmmm why bring that up I wonder. ~ I wonder why that raft doesn't sink, must have had a pretty deep hole in it. ~ Paul, omg Paul, harpooned right in his special area, sorry man. ~ Jesus man, could that scream cord when the mom died be any more obnoxious, it's the loudest thing in the movie. Also another kill that wasn't shown, she just screams and disappears. ~ lol at Rob randomly slashing at his own tent while Trisha is in it, what the Hell man. ~ Ted is either actually high or a damn good actor, cuz he really acts like a drunken guy who's also smoking grass. ~ Where the Hell is that damn corkscrew? It's in your hand Jimmy, literally! ~ Jason seems to be showing off some of his "powers" in this he seems to be warping around real quick, and for no reason to boot, killing Jimmy inside, then warping outside the window to kill Tina for example. ~ Rob is kind of a cool character, the brother of Sandra from part II who holds a grudge and want's revenge, didn't work out so well, but still interesting. ~ What the Christ is with that Dog? Did Jason pitch him out the window or did he jump on his own accord to escape Jason? Either way, funny as Hell. ~ Those news clippings are cool, like a quick wrap up of II and III including one about that weird married couple. ~ Oh my God he's killing me, arrrrggggggggghhh..... ~ Jason sure likes pinning people to walls don't he.... ~ ...and throwing people though windows. ~ I love it when Jason throws that hammer, for whatever reason it just looks cool. ~ Hey look Jason is running. ~ God that slice into Jason hand is freaking brutal. ~ Speaking of that, most all the kills in this flick feel insanely brutal, they look brutal and sound brutal and they look like they freaking hurt. ~ Something odd about Tommy shaving his head in order to distract Jason with memories of his lost youth or whatever, odd but hey it worked, we get a Jason head tilt to boot. ~ Jason looks a bit odd, I dunno, the FX work in this is outstanding but ehhh, Jason looks a bit over latexed or something, almost Toxic Avenger like. ~ Wow, first ending without a dream sequence.... or is it? dun dun dun. ~ This Friday certainly deserves all the praise it gets, it's a great slasher, amazing FX stuff by Tom Savini, good characters and pretty tight directing. ~ Friday the 13th part IV Theme, pretty good back to the basics type of theme. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=s_t-PyP_0ms

~ How many times is the term "dead f***" used? 10? 20? A hilarious bit from X-Entertainment's review of TFC: "Given the AMOUNT of times 'dead snork' is overheard and with the amazing business this movie did at the box office, I'd be surprised if it didn't gain steam as an actual catchphrase. Hey, anyone who was old enough in 1985 to swear without giggling - was 'dead snork' an in thing back then? You've got to hand it to any movie with the balls to make the 'dead snork' debate its primary subplot." ~ Is Jimmy on crack or having an epileptic fit? Crispin Glover = God. That scene wasn't even scripted - that was just the dance he would have done if left to his own devices. One of the reasons I love this movie so much is that, while I'll readily admit that the script is far from Shakespearian, EVERYONE in this flick's cast really gave it their all. No phone-ins here. ~ Ted is either actually high or a damn good actor, cuz he really acts like a drunken guy who's also smoking grass. The actor who played Ted actually DID smoke a joint before doing that scene. Method acting! ~ Rob is kind of a cool character, the brother of Sandra from part II who holds a grudge and want's revenge, didn't work out so well, but still interesting. Some people don't think so, but I actually think the whole "Oh my God, he's killing me!" thing is REALLY scary - and that Rob's arc is done very well. Four movies into a franchise, and this one is called The Final Chapter, and you, the audience member, are wondering just how Jason is going to meet his ultimate end. Then Rob enters the movie. He's big, he's buff, he seems to have his crap together, he's got the rifle for long-distance defense and the machete for close quarters. And when THIS guy goes out like a total punk, with no serious build, you know Jason is one badass SOB and that the other characters are pretty snorked. ~ This Friday certainly deserves all the praise it gets, it's a great slasher, amazing FX stuff by Tom Savini, good characters and pretty tight directing. Couldn't agree more. The Final Chapter is my favorite movie in the entire series - I believe this to be the ULTIMATE slasher flick. Everything that slasher cinema was about is in here, and they even throw a few very nice wrinkles into the formula in the process (a KID instead of a final girl?). Loving these, Erisi - they just keep getting better and better. So much so that I'm supposed to be working right now (I'm a fast food manager) and I'm parked in the office typing this. ;D

One of the reasons I love this movie so much is that, while I'll readily admit that the script is far from Shakespearian, EVERYONE in this flick's cast really gave it their all. Yup yup, I agree with this all right, after the total dead-pan delivery of basically everyone in part III it's cool to see just about everyone really tried hard to give it a good show in part IV.

Part IV is by far the most brutal of the Friday 13th movies.
Jason was Pissed in this flick and he went all out for his killings, Especially the face crush in the shower (Ouch).
Also the Director Joe Zito did "The Prowler" which is one of my favourite 80's slashers

Also the Director Joe Zito did "The Prowler" which is one of my favourite 80's slashers While I wouldn't call The Prowler one of my favorite horror flicks, I'll say that the kills in it are EPIC. To this day, Tom Savini says that the best FX work he ever did was for that film. The knife RIGHT THROUGH THE TOP OF THE FREAKING HEAD - followed by the camera shot that just lingers and lingers and LINGERS - is an awesome sight to behold.

Goddamn internet being a bitch, I didn't get to this thread in time, so I'll have to do 3 and 4 back to back...
PART 3
-I actually, uh, don't like Shelly all that much. True, he showed some courage or whatever in the store with those thugs, but other than that, the entirety of his time in the movie is spent a.) complaining that nobody likes him and b.) doing things that he already knows will upset people. If he didn't realize that a practical joke is only funny to the people in on it the first time, you think he would've the second or third.
-Speaking of those thugs, is it just me, or does the black girl in that gang look kinda like Phylicia Rashâd, aka Claire Huxtable from The Cosby Show?
-For some reason, I enjoy watching 3D movies in 2D. Whenever the 3D segments come up, it's kind of an inside joke between me and my friends to say "It's comin' right at me!" sarcastically.
-Interesting that while Chris's flashback is supposed to take place before Part 2, Jason's got the bald look from the rest of Part 3 rather than the few straggling long hairs from the end of Part 2.
-I don't necessarily think Chris is full of BS with that flashback, but I certainly think the writers of the movie are. Jason's a mentally challenged man-child, I doubt he would even register what genitals are for, regardless of how often he's massacred people using theirs.
-The shock ending with Jason's mother popping out of the water is a.) old hat and b.) completely stupid.
-Continuing on from Erisi's post: "This really does seem like they wanted to do the copycat killer/new killer angle as really the killer in this could be anyone. The odd opening added with the fact that the word "Jason" is never said kind of hints that they just had the new killer script and just said screw it and went with it without a re-write." Not only that, but Higgin's Haven (the setting of Part 3) is, as far as I can tell, not affiliated with the campgrounds of Crystal Lake, or the camp further down the way that was used in Part 2. There really isn't a reason Jason kills the people in Part 3, unless you go by the idea that they sort of stumbled upon his killing spree already in progress.
FINAL CHAPTER AKA PART 4
-Man, that "dead f***" subplot was annoying. Couldn't they have used a few synonyms for the term, rather than that same phrase over and over again?
-Part 4, as has been mentioned, has the grisliest effects of the franchise.
-Part 4 also has the most "tits and ass" of the series (A New Beginning has its fair share of tits, but very little ass...and none of it from the silent era)! ;D
-Jason is still killing people that have never been to Camp Crystal Lake for any reason...I'm assuming he's just killing everyone on his way "back home."
-Parts 1, 2, and 4 all have similarly named "joker" characters. 1 had Ned, 2 and 4 both have guys named Ted (4's is called Teddy). Just thought that was interesting.
-Corey Feldman and Crispin Glover deserve every fan they have, based on this movie alone (though they certainly have other great performances to their respective credits).

Terri, as far as I can remember, was the first time I saw a girl's butt and said "Man, I gotta get me some of that!" Not those exact words, but you get the idea. It has been far too long for me to recall (probably more than 20 years since I have seen it). Does anyone have photographic evidence of this epic ass, or at least can give me a name to compare it to?
