Terri, as far as I can remember, was the first time I saw a girl's butt and said "Man, I gotta get me some of that!" Not those exact words, but you get the idea. It has been far too long for me to recall (probably more than 20 years since I have seen it). Does anyone have photographic evidence of this epic ass, or at least can give me a name to compare it to? Behold.

-I don't necessarily think Chris is full of BS with that flashback, but I certainly think the writers of the movie are. Jason's a mentally challenged man-child, I doubt he would even register what genitals are for, regardless of how often he's massacred people using theirs. Odds are that if you log on to a fairly large horror forum, there's people talking about that flashback at this very moment. It's one of the most debated, mysterious scenes in the entire series. Me, personally? I think Jason did indeed rape Chris; one of the common arguments that I heard in the many discussions I've taken part in on this subject is "Jason is like an animal - and animals know how to do it without being taught." Makes sense to me. That, and in the ending scene where Chris opens the barn door to see the believed-dead Jason, and he pops up and removes his mask for that split second, he has an ever-so-subtle look on his face like "hey, remember me?" - almost in a really sick, sexual way. Either that or I'm just a moron.

I'll have to watch it again to see about that. I don't remember any of that subtext from my memories.

Yeah, I know there's evidence to support either side of this heated debate, but it's just weird that over the course of however many years these movies take place, Jason goes through large amounts of time slaughtering people as though they're nothing to him, as part of his overall goals of revenge/protecting his hometurf, but he rapes one girl...seemingly just because. And, I've owned a few pets in my day, and I don't recall them ever looking at each other in a sick "hey, remember the time I f***ed you against your will?!" sort of way. Obviously, the effects crew were trying to make a face that looked creepy, but I'm not sure they went "should we go backwoods mongoloid creepy or sexual deviant creepy." Though, again, since it's one of a number of plotpoints that doesn't entirely add up in Part 3 (one girl's pregnant, but it's only mentioned once and forgotten, the other girl's poor, again no mention of what that has to do with the story), the debate can go on forever with really no closure.

Another thing to rememeber about Jason is he doesn't kill "innocence" so to speak. Sex and drugs and 0987654321 is what got him killed and that's what he's after basicaly, people old enough to be guilty of this stuff. Which explains why he leaves children alone when he comes across them. It wouldn't make since for him to turn around and do that too.

We could go all night on that subject. ;D But hey, we can all bask in the awesomeness of The Final Chapter, right?

Crispen Glover's dancing 'skills' must be seen to be believed. And the Double Mint twins are nice too! I actually dig Barbara Howard (the virginal girl) the most in Final Chapter - and find it somewhat comical that she dies almost IMMEDIATELY after losing her virginity. Something of an early satirical comment from Zito and company. And one more totally unrelated comment on Mr. Zito - I actually saw The Prowler for the first time not five months ago at a horror convention, along with The Burning - which also featured make-up effects from Mr. Tom Savini. It's a small world.

If Jason still haunts you, you're not alone! Friday the 13th part V: A New Beginning~ First thing of note, I've seen this one more then all the others put together. Back in the day USA played the Hell out of this movie, literally at one point is was on at least 2 or 3 times a week. ~ Heh, Jason's grave in that opening looks less like a grave and more like a pile of dirt on top of a box. ~ Random victims, boy, Friday tends to do this, but this one takes it to a new level. We got the kids at the crazy house and then we have the town at large on the victim plate, really strange that they did that. ~ I still wonder what mental problems those kids have, Violet, Robin, Tina, Eddie and Jake seem normal enough. Maybe it's not really a crazy house at all, more like a refuge for runaways and "troubled teens", tho if that were the case what are Vic and Tommy doing there, cuz their both nuts, Joey may or may not be nuts according to Rajah.com ;D ~ Hell the people outside the house come off as way more crazy, Ethel, Junior, Billy and of course Roy. ~ Cool that Tommy still has his alien mask from Part IV ~ People still love to scare folks don't they... ~ Ethel and Junior are freaking hilarious, two of my favorite Friday characters. "Say it like you mean it Ma!" ;D ~ Joey looks like a fat Richard Simmons. ~ I wonder who stopped Vic's rampage? He kills Joey and then is next seen in the back of the squad car. ~ Vic never does get whats coming to him, weird. ~ Tommy is great by the way, he practically says nothing but he really does a great job in this flick, he really comes off as generally messed up. ~ For some reason I find it amusing that when Tommy beats up Eddie that Violet seems to find it funny. ~ It's a real shame that none of the kids in the house get any back story at all. Hell Ethel and Junior get more scenes dedicated to them then any of the kids in the house. I do really like those two, but I would have rather have them written out and have some more scenes of the house kids. ~ I actually would have liked to see some more of Tucker the cigar chomping sheriff as well, he seemed cool but after his conversation with the Mayor isn't seen again till the very end. ~ How the Hell did that clod Billy get a chick like Lana? Cocaine is Hell of a drug I guess. ~ Has a cat ever jumped out and scared you in real life? ~ The garden shears and strap kills are big time ouch-ouches. ~ Tommy beating the crap out of Junior is awesome. ~ "You gunna get it bitch!" Demon, you are one cool cat. ~ In that out house there's a tag that says" Faddon waz here" Faddon was Vic's last name for those paying attention. ~ Matt and George just up and disappearing is odd, Robin says they're out looking for Eddie and Tina, but still why leave the others behind like that, one of them ok, but not both. ~ It must be Hell walking around in those high heeled cowboy boots, odd choice in fashion Pam. ~ Oh Jake, poor poor Jake, that is one serious dump job, I feel worse for him then any other Friday character. Robin has no class at all, maybe that's why she's in a nut house. ;D ~ And now a moment on Violet. Looking around on various Friday websites Violet is mentioned with love and affection more then any other girl in the series, this is somehow strange but really neat, really she's pretty much the most stand out girl of them all. It's the hair, or the attitude or that freaking dance, God that freaking dance. ;D ~ Violets also the only girl in the crazy house to not show off her cans, quite a pity. ~ Now, Roy may not be Jason, but man he's got a lot of his powers, that man warps around like no one other then Jason can, he's also got a real habit of pinning people to objects, throwing them though windows and busting through doors. ~ I can't tell if Pam is a good hero gal or a bad one, she screams a lot but is also a pretty good fighter with that chainsaw. ~ I don't know but I think Wreckless is pretty cool he saves Pam's ass twice. ~ I wonder why Roy's mask falls off, Tommy smashes Roy's hand, he falls and while falling his mask flies off, weird. ~ Somewhere, someone has Roy's wallet complete with news clippings, I want it. ~ Tommy would have made a great killer if they had just stuck to their guns. ~ One thing of note, I really like the music in this flick, it's some of the best there is in Friday flicks Harry Manfredini did a great job. ~ For whatever reason this flick just looks like it was made for TV, now that may be because I've seen it on TV so many times or the pretty tiny 2million budget but something about it says "made for TV" ~ I'm too sure why this is the "low point" of Friday flicks, IMO there are worse ones to come. Sure it looks a little funky, it's got too many random victims, is light on story and ZMOG it ain't Jason, but I still really like this flick. It's got a throw back feel to the first 2 with the feet creeping up to the victim and a "who's the killer" feel, and just like 1 it's got a twist ending. It's got a 3.8 on IMDB, it should be a 4.5 at least. ~ Friday the 13th 5 theme, as I said the music in this is my favorite, and the theme is no exception, it's my favorite of the bunch. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3a1dxE1tVoAP.S. Reform School Girls~ Violet doesn't show off her cans in this one either dammit. ~ In fact in a place full of gal in thongs and negligee she struts around in knee length boxers which somehow makes her more arousing. ~ This movie is the most accurate depiction of a Womens Prison ever put to film.

-As I've said before, I love A New Beginning because to me it's the quintessential USA Up All Night flick, and I loved those damn things.
-Weird that you thought it felt like a made for tv movie, considering how much nudity we get. Jason Lives features no nudity and most of the kills are off-screen, so that one always felt more made-for-tv in my opinion.
-In fairness, the kids aren't staying at a "crazy house" in the strictest definition, they're staying at something of a halfway house. If they were out and out crazy, I don't think they'd be given so much freedom to roam around unattended. Though, why they ended up in their predicament certainly remains a mystery.
-Ethel and Junior are certainly hilarious, as are Demon and Wreckless. Wreckless is just a cool character all around, I love that kid.
-Am I the only person who, when bored or waiting for something, starts going "Rat-a-tat-a-tat-a-tat-a-tooie" because of this movie?
-This movie has, as far as I'm concerned, the best Tommy Jarvis. I like Corey Feldman and all, but when someone says the character's name, I immediately think of this guy.
-I agree, I think he would've made a great killer had Paramount stuck to their guns.
-Violet's dance is indeed epic. If Violet and Crispin Glover had a dance-off, who do you think would win?

-Violet's dance is indeed epic. If Violet and Crispin Glover had a dance-off, who do you think would win? The world would implode if this ever came to be. With all this talk about New Beginning between this and the other thread, I can't believe nobody's mentioned the greatness of Demon's song "Ooh Baby." "Ooooh Baby, Oooooh Baby Ooooh Baby, Oooooh Baby" "Hey Baby, Hey Baby" "Ooooh Baby..." Simply classic. For a man whose resume includes Juwanna Man, Street Fighter and Leprechaun In Space, I think Return of the Living Dead and New Beginning are obvious highlights for Miguel Nunez Jr.

~ Random victims, boy, Friday tends to do this, but this one takes it to a new level. We got the kids at the crazy house and then we have the town at large on the victim plate, really strange that they did that. Although I've said it before, I'll reiterate it here - I think everybody here knows that I consider ANB to be the lowpoint of the Paramount series (it's still loads better than the New Line movies), and that's the reason. It's not so much that the victims are random - that I can deal with. It's the fact that they just introduce these random characters but then make us sit through TEN MINUTES of useless dialogue before their immediate death. This movie LOVES wasting time. ~ Tommy is great by the way, he practically says nothing but he really does a great job in this flick, he really comes off as generally messed up. Agreed. John Shepherd really did do an excellent job in this movie, particularly with a character that doesn't speak so much. His facial expressions and mannerisms are especially effective, especially in the ending scene that would have led to the Friday series with Tommy as the killer - when Tommy is laying in bed and sees the apparition of Jason above him, the camera zooms in on his face, and very subtly, you see his expression change from fear to acceptance to "I'm going to kill somebody RIGHT NOW." Very well done. ~ It's a real shame that none of the kids in the house get any back story at all. Hell Ethel and Junior get more scenes dedicated to them then any of the kids in the house. I do really like those two, but I would have rather have them written out and have some more scenes of the house kids. I know. We get more character development and back story for the two random greasers in the woods and Billy and Lana (the two victims at the restaurant) then we do of all the "main group" of teens at the house combined. ~ I can't tell if Pam is a good hero gal or a bad one, she screams a lot but is also a pretty good fighter with that chainsaw. Didn't like Pam at all - my second least favorite F13 heroine in the series behind only Dana Kimmell. While I've never really thought about it until now, that may be something I can pin my dislike of this movie on (and those reasons have nothing to do with ZOMG, it ain't Jason ;D) - at the end of this movie, the only character I care about in the slightest is Tommy. Danny Steinmann, the former porn director, just seemed so much more concerned with T&A and random drug references than pesky little things like victim sympathy. All in all, though, this movie IS watchable - which is more than you can say for the New Line entries.

I wish I could get a "Part V: The Erisi Cut" version of this. Imagine most (but not all) that randomness removed and replaced with proper deaths for Matt and George for starters. A scene where instead of Tommy beating up Eddie he sits down to breakfast and we get a round table "hello" where all the kids give a quick explanation of what they're doing there. How about a scene where Tommy has a session with Matt or Pam where we get a little about what he was doing in between IV and V. More interaction between Robin and Jake. A Violet shower scene. ;D Just a couple of things like that would have helped so much in the general fan department of this flick, it might never have been the most loved but it could have gotten maybe a few more fans.

Seriously, if Paramount followed your advice to the LETTER...the movie would have turned out quite good. Again, just little touches like the ones you mentioned make ALL the difference in F13 films - but Steinmann just didn't care about them.

Kill or be killed! Jason Lives: Friday the 13th part VI~ First off it's interesting that this is the first time the tag of the movie "Jason Lives" goes before the proper title of the film, the opening also doesn't have the classic Friday the 13th block text. ~ They really creep up the forest in this one, those are some woods I wouldn't want to go in. ~ I wonder how Tommy got a hold of Jason's mask, it's the real deal complete with axe slice. ~ That sheriff has a real itchy trigger finger, he wants to kill Tommy the second he sees him. ~ For some reason I find it odd that Tommy even goes to the cops, surely he must know how stupid it sounds that he went out and raised the dead. ~ Jason standing guard at Crystal Lake is hilarious. ~ It's also kind of interesting that Jason gives those head counselors all the time in the World to just leave, can't say he didn't give them ample warning. ~ This flick does look pretty good by the way, the lighting especially is top notch. ~ You know Friday V certainly gets a lot of flack for it's random victims, but you know what, Friday VI has just as many! Paint ballers? Random couple in the woods? At least the greasers in V were funny. ~ This flick is certainly loaded with comedy isn't it, I'm sure there's 2 groups of people in this World, those that think this is awesome, and those that think this is stupid. What camp am I in, only Jason knows for sure. ~ Cort's Indian story is actually kind of funny ~ I probably laughed more at the "Smokey the f***ing Bear" line then I should have. ~ First Friday with a car crash I might add, unless Shelly backing into those bikes counts. ~ Yes, Jason should have a utility belt at all times, it looks sweet, and when he slides that knife out it's awesome. ~ Hmm, also the first Friday with any gun play, Alice in part 1 tried to find some ammunition for a gun, but this is the first one where guns are used quite a lot. ~ What the Hell did Meg write on that paper she showed to Tommy? No matter what aspect ratio I see this movie in I cant see it. ~ A Friday the 13th without nudity or drug use? What's this World coming to. ~ Funny, without the sex and drugs, why's Jason killing these people other then Cort maybe? Just on general principle I guess. ~ Jason stomping into the water without hesitation, hmmm, the second time I mentioned Jason and water, why is that? ~ That kid asking "Is he killed" is funny to me for some reason. ~ I really wonder what happens to Meg and Tommy after this movie. Up to a point all the Cops thought Tommy was the killer, including the one Deputy they locked up, so whenever he gets out of that cell is going to call his cop buddies who will swarm down on the camp and find another bunch of bodies including 3 cops. Sure kid, they'll say, "Jason" did it. ~ You'll notice that all the pictures I posted have Jason in it, there's certainly a reason for that as he is front and center in this flick, right from the "Jason Lives" title, it's all about him from here on out. With this flick Jason has gone from cult movie killer to a horror movie legend in popular culture, complete with music video. ~ Reading up on this flick along with the "comedy camps" there's also the "worst ever" and "best ever" camps, there is no middle ground here it seems. ~ Friday VI id good enough to me anyway, Jason's back and now he's in his slow stalking zombie form, people love it or hate it, I just find it interesting. ~ Friday the 13th VI Theme, pretty quality stuff all things considered. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=olFBW3u4Rkw
