I'm waiting for Ron Simmons to comment on this situation. He just posted this comment on YouTube...

As it happened in Iraq maybe Styles should be drafted into the surge.

The Public Enemy-Acolytes situation came about (according to the Dudleys) because PE came in to the WWF, with this attitude that because they were in WCW for three years, they were big shots. This and their general disrespect turned the rest of the locker room against them pretty quickly.
The disrespect continued after they returned to ECW. Where they gave the Dudleys the ultimate insult by popping right back up after getting 3D'd

How has 'Joey Styles suckerpunched JBL' with then both guys having to be separated evolved into 'Joey Styles kicked the ever living 0987654321e out of JBL?' People getting boners, not really realizing we know virtually nothing about JBL. Why do I say that? How often in shoots do people knock JBL? Not really very often, at least not that I've heard. Surely, if he's such a bully and jerk, it'd be said. Only thing he legitimately did wrong that anyone in wrestling brings up I know of was pick on Blue Meanie, and it ended up getting Blue Meanie exposure, money, and a short time job, so even that wasn't so bad. So, whether he's a prick or not, we really do need to come to terms with the fact none of us even know the guy, just who he portrays on television, and what dirt sheets claim. What he did to Billy Silverman's a lot worse than what he did to Blue Meanie.

Billy Silverman was a WCW referee who came along when WCW was bought out. The guy was probably even smaller than Joey Styles. Anyway, Silverman used to upgrade his plane tickets to first class with his own money. For some reason this offended JBL so much that he hazed him until he quit and ended up suing the WWE. Some of the details might be NEWZ, but he supposedly tied him up and basically held him prisoner for a while. I don't know how the lawsuit turned out. Part of his problem with the Blue Meanie came from him calling out JBL about what he did to Silverman. Then of course there was running Palmer Cannon out of the company with another one of his hazings. I guess JBL apologists could say this just proves that Cannon didn't have what it takes or whatever, but Silverman had been a referee for about a decade at this point.

Sucks if the details are accurate there. I think what the problem was is that it's courtesy to a lot of wrestlers to offer your first class ticket to a veteran, say, Finlay. He won't likely take your ticket, it's a show of courtesy, though. Not condoning anything, just saying that'd likely be the reason.

If I just spent my own money to upgrade my own ticket to first class, then i'm sure as hell not gonna offer it to someone who makes more money than I do.
They can do the same thing I did.

Like I said, not saying I condone it, it's just one of those unwritten rules, like shaking everyone's hand when you first join up.

Maybe I can get an amusing chant going when JBL comes out Most of them probably won't even know who Joey is. "No, he wears a hood." "JOEY Styles. Nerdy type, announcer?" "Michael Cole?" "No, damn it, he has glasses." "Grisham?"

Now I need ideas on what would be a catchy chant that would sound good when JBL comes out. Simply chanting JOEY STYLES may just confuse most people. I'll most likely bring a JOEY STYLES > JBL sign.

I Thought Cannon was hazed by everyone in general.
