If I just spent my own money to upgrade my own ticket to first class, then i'm sure as hell not gonna offer it to someone who makes more money than I do. They can do the same thing I did. Like I said, not saying I condone it, it's just one of those unwritten rules, like shaking everyone's hand when you first join up. I agree, it does seem to be SOP, it just doesn't seem to jive with the other "respect" deals. Shake hands with everyone? Fine, maybe a bit overdone if it's a daily thing, but fine. Supply the beers for the locker room one night/pick up the tab? Fine, since that's similar to what I had to do when I joined the Sheriff's Office. As FNG it was my "duty" to bring doughnuts for the first week. Paying for, then offering to give away a first class airline ticket? Might be a bit much. One question I always had for the shaking hands with everybody deal. What if you're a rookie who happens to be driving with the vets as a road partner? Do you get out of the car with them, enter the building, then immediately shake their hands to show them "proper respect"? Seriously, let's say I'm a new guy with WWE who happens to be riding with JBL on the road for some reason. OK, so we get to the arena, and go inside. Do I then stop him, shake his hand, and say "nice to see ya"? Moreover, if I should shake his hand prior to exiting the vehicle, and then not do so once I enter the building, do I get brought into wrestler's court for breaking a rule of ettioquette?

Apparently, JBL had problems with Miz/Morrison because of how they were approaching a match with Punk. He felt they should've been more serious and did more to help Punk look good. Again, who knows? Stories are stories. IIRC it was because Miz and Morrison were guest commentators and didn't even talk about the match. Yes, that seems to be a habit with them *remembers the thing with Cryme Time*

According to Meltzer's update, JBL constantly ribbed Joey overseas, including an incident where he threw all of Joey's luggage in an aluminum trash can, which are of course commonplace backstage and under the ring. Vince wouldn't talk to anyone about what happened in Iraq and was really mad when it got out.

I remember in February 2007 Meltzer was saying the current plan is to have Batista vs. Shawn Michaels and John Cena vs. Undertaker. Plans change. People have said Meltzer was wrong when he said Carlito had given in his notice and was leaving, but that didn't happen. And the later Carlito confirmed in an interview he had given in his notice and was talked out of leaving by Vince.

I'm not saying he's a pultzer prize winning journalist, but he does have credibility. He can't just make crap up. Meltzer has people working with him and they could be misinformed or could be making it up. If a New York Times Journalist made up stories for years and wasn't caught, then Meltzer and other people involved in the article could as well. Who knows? Again, all we have are reports and not actual evidence either way. Also, just because I personally feel it sounds made up doesn't mean that it actually is, as its just my feeling in regards to it. I have a 50-50 shot at being right or wrong and that's not even factoring in all the various shades of half-truth it could occupy.

If you actually look at Joey, he's not the pushover you'd thing he'd be: He's small, but well built. Even before this, I'd have said he could take care of himself in a fight. Even if he's not a really tough guy.

So wait, Joey Styles jumped on his back and punched him while he wasn't looking?
So much for the IWC's underdog hero.

JBL is such a douchebag. He's always ribbing and picking on guys half his size. He's a snobby, stuck up, George W.- esque piece of crap Hey, wait a minute. That 1984 story George Wells made was pretty cool. Anyway, about the tickets thing. The Blue Meanie's main issue that he originally had with JBL was he had a first class plane ticket bought for him, and he didn't give it up to somebody else, which is seen as the right thing to do. There was an incident involving Raven, Bill Demott, Christian Cage and Albert on a plane one time. There was a first class update. Albert wanted the seat, but Raven felt that he wasn't in the business that long, but Albert said it was because he was big. Christian Cage also tried to block Raven from getting the seat, and to get it himself. Bill Demott then lost it on the plane, yelling at Christian, talking about how Raven was in the buisness for 15 years and he deserves the seat. Eventually, Raven got the seat and he and Christian are good friends, but Bill was extremely angered by the lack of respect a veteran was shown. Raven also wanted to give Bill the seat because he was in the business longer, but Bill just wanted to make a point. Raven also felt that, despite being in the business longer then a lot of people on the roster, he felt disrespected a lot because he was lower on the card. If Billy Silverman bought the ticket, then that's one thing, though that's the first time I heard of it. And on the Palmer Cannon thing, I feel I'm not a JBL apoligist, but let's look at it this way. What if the guy got over huge. What if he became a top guy, and had the potential to make the company a lot of money, and then couldn't take it and quit. Then, he screws the whole company. JBL, for the most part, will test guys to see if they can handle the pressure on the road, and if you pass the test, then you're fine. Besides, what's the rule when anyone pulls a rib. Don't sell it. Because if you sell it, then people will continue to do it, and it will be never ending. That's what happened with Chad Dick of the Dicks. The issue with going against guys like Joey Styles and Lillian Garcia is this. They won't draw money. If they leave the company, it won't be that big of a deal. But, if a guy who gets picked on, no sells it, and stays around, and draws money, he's more likely to stay. If a guy doesn't get it, draws money and cracks, he hurts everyone else in the process. And about JBL throwing ice on Lillian Garcia, it's not like JBL doesn't get ribbed either. Miz ribbed him last year, which is probably why JBL hated him so much on commentary. And Charlie Haas one time threw a bucket of freezing cold water on him after he got out of the shower. It's a catch 22 certainly. Respect is important, because without JBL, that bottom guy can't draw money, because he doesn't have a hot heel who could help draw money. But, with JBL, without that bottom guy, he has nobody to beat. So, respect is extremely important. The reason why schools used to run the crazy drills was because they wanted to see what you were willing to do to be a wrestler. Now, any bozo can be a wrestler, because any indy guy who's popular on the internet can train people because they think they know something. Does JBL go too far? I think he does at times. I think at times his intentions maybe good, but he also does have a bad drinking problem. When I put up shoots of guys talking about JBL, it was usually positive. But, depending on the situation, he can either be a guy trying to protect the business, or he can be a major asshole, and hurt the buisness.

I also doubt that's the case. I don't think they need to do it twice, unless you were doing it as a rib. As I said in my above post, shaking hands is extremely important, because it shows respect, in that they all understand that without each other, none of this could exist. Vince McMahon himself will come up to everybody, from Shawn Michaels to Kung Fu Naki and shake their hand and thank them, because without Shawn Michaels, he's got nobody to draw, and without Kung Fu Naki, he has nobody to put guys over.
