I'd honestly applaud Orton. And the fact that this is CM Punk has no relevance as far as I'm concerned; I wouldn't even put Punk in my list of favorites. But for God's sakes, the guy just came back from Iraq. He's exhausted from the trip, and the jetlag can't be too pleasant. If the guy wants a photo & autograph so bad, go to a signing. Wrestlers are people too and deserve their space. Man I work in customer service. I have bad days but if somebody asks me for something I do it and like it. You do it and like it?> Even on a bady day? So you're4 saying....if you;'re jet lagged, and you wander into ANY store to get something quick to eat, and someone one bothers you for something, AFTER THEY CAN SEE YOU'RE LIMPING, you're going to like it? You're going to feel 'honoured', because every penny that customer may or may not spend is uh...'paying your wages'? You're going to feel proud to be called upon by a customer in their time of need, no matter how you are feeling? You don't mind being treated like dirt, as long as the customer get's EXACTLY what they want, even if that includes your personal time being taken out, when you're not even at work? Because of course, CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT? Wow man. I wish I knew where you shopped. Trust me. I'd have you signing autographs and standing for pictures until you cried. I'd say I recognised you working in WalMart or whatever. I'd chat to you and get you to play catch with my little sister. You'd be on the Wii Fit while I taped it for youtube. And if you dared show your true colours and act a little annoyed, or bored or upset, I'd write in to your employer ranting and raving about how when you're an employee for Wal-mart, you're a Wal-Mart employee FOR LIFE. You don't have an off day, until you get in your own personal house. If you wanna go to get a Burger King, and I want you to sign my hat, you better stop in your tracks. Not only that dude, you better be stopping with a big smile on your face. Because I shop at WalMart so I pay your wages, you better follow me and step to it bub, lest I post a scathing review of your terrible performance across the internet, getting you shunned for life. I've already got pics of Maccy D's and Subway employees smiling with a big thumbs up, while they're relaxing, or eating a meal, and they've got a grin like you don't KNOW what. Their thumb is standing at attention, it's not half cocked, and they have a gleam in their eye, a little wild eyed, because they're scared of me. Because they KNOW I've got the power over them, power to POST PUTDOWNS APLENTY ON MYSPACE! I'm glad my friend. I'm glad, because I'm king, and you're happy I'm king. I'm glad knowing your happy I'm king. And life is good. /sarcasm EDIT: I love the board that the guy posts a link to. So many super sick putdowns. Some do seem a little harsh, so why can't I stop laughing?

Yes, what a task standing still for a photo and/or scribbling your name on a piece of paper. Poor, poor Punk. And the fan will still complain because Punk didn't stand there for 20 minutes talking to the douche about Punk's sex life. Well, if he did that even I'd call him a douche.

All I have to say is.....why does being fat, "ugly", and a wrestling fan automatically mean you deserve to be mocked? Yeah, the guy is probably a bit "much", but that doesn't make him a douche, jackoff, etc. no the fact that he drove approximately 3 hours to the location in the morning to catch his favorite wrestlers in a personal state then complain when the individual isnt completely happy and receptive of it makes him a jackoff...These stories are going to drive the wrestlers to completely despise the fan base who are beginning to mimmick the paparrazi

Some do seem a little harsh, so why can't I stop laughing? Lol, look at Mr. Clever here. I love people like you. Like I've said in my posts, which for the record I think you should go back and read before coming in here like you know it all, Punk knew what he was doing when he got this job and so did I. Playing with your sister isn't in my job description I'd ask if you needed the number of a good nursery. But then this guy wasn't asking Punk to play with his sister. He wasn't asking him to play Wii for youtube or anything of the sort. 20 secs for a pic and an autograph. And what are you yakking about Burger King and hat signs for? Did you take your medications today or did Morty take yours too? I'll do anything in reason whilst I'm on work premises. Unfortunately for Mr Punk, anytime he's around fans are his work premises. That's the life he chose to lead. I can guarantee you if I ever became a wrestler I'd sign, take pics, call their sister etc, anytime I was asked. Because without those fans, I wouldn't be where I was. And neither would Punk. And for your information some days I limp too because even at 21 I have arthritis in my ankle. I knew what I was doing getting into retail, Punk knew what he was doing getting into wrestling. Wow man, talk about abstract reasoning to try and throw me off here. None of what you're saying pertains even a little to the story lol.

I guess, but I think those are the people that like to think that wrestlers are there characters 24/7...as if a lot of people in real life aren't rude assholes. I run into rude assholes all day long. So it's no suprise to me that some wrestlers are...I guess its that whole seperation thing that a lot of fans seem to not have control over...some kind of "Expectation Disorder" or something.

funny thing is i always hear wrestlers tell stories that involve getting approached at the airport, and even real celebrities do get mobbed at airports and just about everywhere else they go, so to say its only this guy, or wrestling fans with a sense of entitlement, really screams punk apologist to me, the guys had countless reports of him being a dick and theres an excuse for every single one of them according to his fanbase, those who want to put their fingers in their ears and their heads in the sand because they cant fathom a guy with the workrate possibly being an asshole are free to do so, but to pile up on and flame a fellow fan for doing what countless other fans do regularly (because this time it happens to reflect poorly on an iwc posterboy), really embodies one of the worst stereotypes of wrestling fans, and this is coming from a guy who doesnt give a shit about autographs and thinks the fan is also an idiot

I find it hard to feel sorry for the idiot... as ambushing a jet lagged and injured pro wrestler who has just gotten off a long flight at six the morning is not the most ideal way to get an autograph.

But there IS a time and a place to ask for an autograph and a busy airport doesn't sound like one of them to me. I fail to see how "workrate" has anything to do with this besides people using it for their usual anti-smark drivel.

I don't even think it's the location, it's that it's the morning he got back from a nasty overseas tour. The airport is already a busy place, if you're there, you probably don't have a lot of time to begin with, but add the jetlag and the general pain of overseas flying and you're not going to get the most cordial responses out of people. I agree, Punk does sound like a jerk when he's not at a WWE event, but that doesn't make it any less of an entitlement complex for fans who do things that would make them look like stalkers if Punk wasn't a public figure. The only difference between a fan like this and paparazzi is that they like it even more when they're given dirty looks.

Sometimes I like to walk up to random people asking for their autograph. Not famous people or celebrities or anything -- just random people. Like if I'm in a supermarket, I'll hang around the produce section with a pad and paper waiting for elderly ladies to come pick up some oranges. And that's when I'll see if they will give me an autograph.

Tough shit. I disagree with many of the posts saying that when they're in the airport they're "on the clock" to meet fans. I'd argue the only time they're "on the clock" to meet fans is at an autograph session. If you pay for an autograph and picture and the wrestler is still a dick, then that's not right. At an airport, though, you're taking your chances. I repeat: tough shit.

I fail to see how "workrate" has anything to do with this besides people using it for their usual anti-smark drivel. I'd agree here with you, if people didn't have such fierce fandom for Punk. And I was here in the beginning of this thread and already gave my opinion and insist the guy needs a life. But people LOVE Punk because of his workrate, and it's hard to dispute that when there are at least 5 threads a week questioning whether or not WWE dropped the ball on him, or why he's being shunned to the midcard. People are just protecting something they love dearly. I can't fault them for being fans, but I can find fault in someone camping outside of an airport waiting to hound a wrestler for their autograph. They're on their own time, and just because the said wrestler isn't behind closed doors, does not mean they're supposed to drop everything to give a 30-something year old guy in his old NWO T-Shirt an autograph. It's not their problem unless they make it their business to sign and take pictures. If they don't want to, then who's to tell them that they have to? They have meet and greets for a reason, you know.

Wasn't there a post or news story or something about a fan that was complaining Punk was rude during an autograph session, then complained about it elsewhere? Then it was revealed that the fan was asking Punk when he was going to cash in the MitB, and whether he was going to use it on the IC title, essentially wanting him to give him spoilers? The point? Anytime a fan complains, we usually only ever get one side of the story. Often, the truth isn't completely there. Some wrestlers may act like dicks, but we don't know if they're driven to it by other things.

Yeah, I remember that; it was the autograph section the day before Night of Champions. From what I remember, the guy started off telling him something really smarky like "WWE isn't using you correctly," and then asked him if he was going to answer Jericho's open challenge for the IC Title. Punk shot back with something like "I have a guaranteed world title shot; why would I go after the IC title?" You have to wonder what that guy was thinking when Punk won the WHC a couple days later.
