So CM Punk doesn't want to take pictures big whoop, these are normal people not mascots at disneyland. get over yourself fatty. ***will retract this statement if said fan is a poster here...we don't want KONGAGATE again*** Yeah, I can go along with this. I deleted a similar post, so I'm glad someone else chimed in. With the copping out for being swept away in the land of Mark-land USA that followed, I figured I'd cut it.

im just coming in here to state that i dont give two Shazbots how CM Punk is outside the ring, it doesnt affect me in the slightest if hes a douche. I dont judge my enjoyment of his matches on whether or not hes charitable in his free time or a complete arsehole, I judge it on the quality of matches he puts on. Same with muscians, actors and other entertainers, short of them going out and doing something similar to a Benoit, i can overlook their flaws as if it doesnt affect the product.
Oh and the whole spiel about celebs owing us something because we made them is bullShazbot, they owe us nothing as we get to enjoy their movies, music, wrestling etc, thats what were paying for and that should be compensation enough. Autographs and photos et al should be viewed as a bonus, not an entilement

I'm gonna chalk this up to Punk having a bad day. I've met a few wrestlers who weren't overly nice (and they were faces), but have also had some good encounters that made me even more fans... like Lawler, Lillian and Pete Gas.
I'm also not gonna insult this guy, as I think some of his points seem valid even if it just his side of the story that's out there. Saying he'd like to kill half of you guys, was fairly disrespectful. It might've flew in the 70's and 80's for heels, but there's such a thing as some level of decency even if Punk figured the others didn't show it (taking pictures, whatever).

WARNING: I AM ABOUT TO SAY SOMETHING POSITIVE ABOUT HHH AND I NEVER THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD COME!
A guy like CM Punk really should try his best to be "the company guy". It's certainly sensible to groan when some fan is coming up and you don't feel like dealing with them, but in his case it'd be in his best interest to tough it out. Put HHH in the same position and I bet he'd give an autograph and let the picture be taken. Even if he didn't feel like it, he'd fake being nice and take care of it, reflects better on you and on the company.
Cutting off a fan once or twice, yeah doesn't mean much. Punk has actually done this quite a few times though, and lots of Punk fans tend to be the internet types that'll talk online about how they met Punk. It really won't do him good for many people to say that he's a dick in person, that kind of thing DOES spread around, the isolated instances add up.
If Vince is looking for a top guy, and word kinda seeps back to him that Punk is often dickish to his fans, does it help Punk's cause? It may not necessarily hurt him, Vince might not even care if most wrestlers did it. He's not stupid however, and if he's looking for a top guy to spread some sort of anti drug message, surely he'd want someone that the fans can meet and like.
Having it be the guy that rolls his eyes at fans wanting an autograph? Maybe, but it doesn't do Punk any favors.
Why not go that extra mile so Vince can say: "A lot of people like CM Punk, I can go ahead and put the belt on him, he can do a few media appearances, sign some autographs, he's great with the fans, they love him."
Something silly like being nice to someone at the airport could actually matter.
This is another reason why someone like Cena will be around for a long time and continue to be in a prominent role. He does that little bit extra, all the time.

This isn't just for Punk but for all wrestlers, short of spending an hour there talking to them and catering to their every request, someone was going to bitch. He could have signed for everyone of them but, had to run to catch his flight and people would have bitched about him not taking pictures.
On to this situation, he is trying to make a flight early in the morning after a show and is injured (according this guy) and they expected him to be happy go lucky and chipper? With the statements he made, I'd say he was joking but, don't know for sure since I wasn't there.
It seems like fans (myself included) tend to forget that these are humans and have bad days and times to approach and, at least if you are this guy who seems to be stalking them, give them some space and you'll have another chance to meet them.

Something silly like being nice to someone at the airport could actually matter. This is another reason why someone like Cena will be around for a long time and continue to be in a prominent role. He does that little bit extra, all the time. I am not exactly sure where all of this "HHH is great towards the fans" bit comes from as I never hardly seen him sign or do pics and the few times he does he is usually grumpy about it. On the other hand, both times I have met Punk he wasn't too bad. Wasn't the nicest, yet wasn't the worst. As an autograph seeker myself I fully understand people having bad days and not wanting to sign but there have been some instances where the celeb has went too far (calling people c***s) and challenging them to a fight to threatening to get them arrested. In these cases the fans were not aggressive but just simple fans who wanted an auto or a pic. I fully see both sides of the coin, they owe it to the fans/they don't owe us a thing, but I am somewhat in the middle. Do they owe a fan an autograph? No, there is no law or legal binding document that says they have to. Should they treat people nicely, unless provoked? Yes. When I go up to a celeb and ask for a graph or pic I would like to be subjected to a yes/no, but not a "Die you swine" type response. The thing about the wrestling business that is sorta crappy is that unlike musicians or actors, if a wrestler is a dick you can only boycott their merchandise if they have any. In music you can stop buying their music or stop watching their movies. If you boycott the shows you hurt other guys who are nice and you may have had good experiences with

I think if there's a possibility of being blown off by a wrestler, it will probably take place in an airport. Just being in an airport and fighting your way through all of the people is stressful enough as it is. Then you have to check your luggage and find your terminal on top of everything else. I can completely understand if ANYONE isn't exactly in the best mood in an airport. The last thing someone would need is to be asked to stop what you're doing for a pic or an autograph.
On another note, it can be argued that "oh, a pic or an autograph only takes 10 or 15 seconds." well, if you stop and do it for one person, you're expected to stop and do it for everyone there. If you don't have the time to do it for a whole crowd it's only fair not to do it for anyone.

I think wrestlers should have the legal right to kick fans in the balls.

The bottom line is this...
This is coming from one man. For all we know Punk could have said "Man, I just got back from Iraq, it's 6 am. Please cut me some slack." and the guy got all bent out of shape and blown this out of proportion. I mean seriously "I want to kill half of you"? Punk maybe standoffish, but I doubt he's a f***ing moron. Being one of WWE's top babyfaces and role model to children, I doubt Punk would say that to a fan IN PUBLIC. Especially in the post-Benoit era...
A Punk is an entertainer, yes. The fans pay money to see him, yes? Okay. Transaction....fans pay money to see wrestling, Punk wrestles in return. Transaction complete. Unless the fan paid money to meet Punk (ie: an ORGANIZED autograph signing). he has no right to complain if Punk turns the fan down. If Punk wanted to sign for the fan, then more power to him. If he doesn't, why should we judge?
I don't care who it is, if they aren't being paid for it, then whatever they sign or whoever they take pictures with is totally up to the wrestler. Plus, I doubt Punk would have turned down the autograph if it was a little kid asking for it. Just a hunch....

This reminds me of a letter I wrote Scotty Riggs back in 1996...
Dear Mr. Riggs,
I've written you FIVE times now and I have yet to get a response out of you? What is your problem? All I wanted from you was an autograph, your trademark eyepatch, a strand of your hair and your home phone number. Apparently, that was too much to ask. Well you know what. Screw you Riggs! I'm glad Bagwell joined the NWO and will become WCW World Champion by 1999 instead of you. People like you make me sick. Remember the time I saw you after the show in Poughkeepsie? Or when I interrupted you on a date? Or when I broke into your house and took all of your pillowcases? I hope you get this letter because it will be my LAST!!! BURN IN HELL RIGGS!!!!
Sincerely, Mister Lancers Harvard Professor

I wouldn't cut Punk that kind of slack because he's well known for being a jerk, even at public appearances. But you're right, this guy isn't telling the whole story.

Until he breaks someones camera or tell someone to f*** off, I don't think he is a dick. Like I said earlier, there are plenty of people who have had good stories meeting Punk. Not to mention all of the charity events he's taken part of. And all of the sick children wishes that he takes part in. I hardly think he is a dick.

But what kind of a dick is he? Until he breaks someones camera or tell someone to snork off, I don't think he is a dick. Randy Orton may be the nirvana of assholes but you don't need to be him to have that kind of rep. I've heard stories about Punk being a nice guy and a jerk. So we can assume that: A. The former stories were all written by brown nosing yes-men enamored with their pro wrestling hero B. The latter stories were all written by spineless monkeys who can't take a little ribbing, or C. Philip Brooks isn't always the nicest guy in the world

I'm going to back Punk on this one. As far as I'm concerned, unless he (or any other person in the public eye) is at a paid public appearance, nobody has the right to hassle him for a pic or an autograph. Yeah, he was pretty rude, but under the circumstances he had every right to be.
