This reminds me of a letter I wrote Scotty Riggs back in 1996... Dear Mr. Riggs, I've written you FIVE times now and I have yet to get a response out of you? What is your problem? All I wanted from you was an autograph, your trademark eyepatch, a strand of your hair and your home phone number. Apparently, that was too much to ask. Well you know what. Screw you Riggs! I'm glad Bagwell joined the NWO and will become WCW World Champion by 1999 instead of you. People like you make me sick. Remember the time I saw you after the show in Poughkeepsie? Or when I interrupted you on a date? Or when I broke into your house and took all of your pillowcases? I hope you get this letter because it will be my LAST!!! BURN IN HELL RIGGS!!!! Sincerely, Mister Lancers Harvard Professor LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL ;D

O.K. we really need to start drawing some lines in the sand as to what is acceptable as far as being a fan and what makes you a full fledged obnoxious geek. This is just like those douchebags you always see mugging for the camera outside the window at FSN's North Shore studios in Pittsburgh.
Seriously camping at an airport to watch wrestlers? Geez grow up. I could see this kind of behavior if you're like 6 but really? Then he gets butthurt because a wrestler who is obviously in pain and just spent the better part of the past day in a cooped up airplane with tiny seats coming home from a third world hellhole and probably will have to get into a plane again to get to wherever it is he has to be next then the coup de tat some fat jackoff goes "sign this sign that gimme pictures" is annoyed by this jackassery.

In my years of meeting celebrities (Mainly Metal musicians), I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. I think the problem here is 2 fold. First, you have the wrestlers side where maybe they were having a bad day or they just wanted to be a prick because let's face it, some people are. And than you have the fan side, where either the fan was trying to be nice, or was just obnoxious. I know what I said in the last 2 sentences are facts, now comes my opinion, I think the fan in question was legitimately hurt (emotionally) by CM Punk, but at the same time, the fan feels like CM Punk owes him "personally". Before I say anything else, I understand Pro Wrestlers, as well as Musicians, Actors, Comedians, etc. owe their fans because without them, they wouldn't have an audience to put them where they are. However, and I have seen this first hand, fans that start to act like they "own" the entertainer is just something that is wrong. Granted, if said entertainer treats their fans like crap, than they deserve to get their asses handed to them. But fans that act like they expect said entertainer to cater to them personally is like a King/Queen ordering a servant. And everybody knows what happened to the majority of the Kings/Queens of this world, they either got relegated to third banana, or had a rebellion and got executed. Bottom line, we should treat everybody how we want ourselves to be treated.

I've heard a lot of these stories about Punk. He just doesn't seem to have very good skills when it comes to interacting with the WWE Universe, unless they're the female planets. It may cost him eventually. I'm convinced that part of the reason HHH, Cena and Jeff Hardy get the pushes they do is because they go out of their way for the fans, and so they represent the company well. I have not heard a bad story about any of them. If I were in his position, I'd probably find those superfans irritating, but I'd also go out of my way to be nice to them because they will tell people on the internet about me and they will spend a lot of money on my merchandise. What's funny is that in the Metal world, there is a band called Deicide that proves what this post is all about. There was a time when this band had a popularity that was considered "OFF THE CHARTS", however, and I know this since I have seen it first hand, the main guy behind the band is Glen Benton, and he has a notorious reputation for treating his fans like crap. That's why Deicide can only play small clubs, because they "pissed" away (Both metaphorically and literally) all the fans that would have gone to their crappy shows. - bretclark

So while it may hurt Punk's merch sales if true, or it may hinder his spot on the card, it likely won't have as profound of an effect, I don't think.

I think it is always the wrestlers duty to sign autographs for fans. Fans support the wrestlers, and if it wasn't for them, people like Punk would be doing something else while making much less money doing so. Fans give Punk two plus hours every week to watch the show he's on, so I don't see what 5 minutes of his time is to that.
I've met Punk a few times and I know others who have as well, and usually he is a little smart @$$, but sometimes he is okay.
Most WWE wrestlers seem to have problems being nice to fans. Johnny Ace, Finlay, and Arn Anderson are three of these people.

I know it's not the same thing, but after 'Batman' opened in 1989 (I think) I bunked off work to see it in Leicester Square. After the movie, I spotted Jack Lemmon and Michael Gambon sitting and having tea at roadside cafe near the square. God help me, I approached them (specifically Lemmon who I ALWAYS marked hard for) and actually professed myself his 'greatest fan'. Lemmon invited me to sit down, gave me a cup of tea and asked me which of his films I liked best. I got to ask him about Walter Matthau and the classic movies he'd been in. It turned out that he and Gambon were in a play in the Haymarket and were having a cuppa and a chat about the performance that night- Gambon proceeded to give me the stink-eye the whole time I was there and refuse to speak to me. Lemmon gave me an autograph (I still have it) and wished me a 'pleasant day' when I got up to leave.
BAsically, I can see both sides of this. I interrupted a well-known person on his own time and, ever the professional, he was absolutely great with me. Gambon (and I snorking hate him to this day) acted like a petulant five year old - even though I could see his point....

I love how that letter pretty much lifted word for word the text that his friend submitted to whatever website that other report (from the other thread about him getting ejected)came from.
They just changed a few words around. Like Huge Randy Orton Fans to Huge Batista fans etc...

Bart: Hey, I know it was great, but what right do you have to complain? CBG: As a loyal viewer, I feel they owe me. Bart: What? They're giving you thousands of hours of entertainment for free. What could they possibly owe you? If anything, you owe them. CBG: [pauses] Worst episode ever.

Now that Batista is involved, I wonder if he'll get defended as much as Punk.
Let's see...

I'm still (after reading the arguments) going to have to side with Punk, and it's not because I'm some fan in denial. These guys get up at four in the morning, work out two hours and go get ready for the show all day. They toss each other around, punch each other, and kick each other's roody poo candy asses. Then, on top of that, afterwards, they're crammed in a plane for god knows how long. If you've ever flown long distances before, you'd know- I fly all the time, all most every birthday I fly coach. It's not fun sitting, ears popping, listening to babies cry, and having the guy in front of you recline in your lap. Imagine being hungry, sore, thirsty, maybe having to pee, and you're mugged by a bunch of geeks asking for you to sign random objects, take pictures with them and listening to them talking 'battle strategies'. Many of these nerds have booked hotel rooms at the airport just to glomp you and job for pictures. So you use a little sarcasm? Is that a sin? And these dumpy losers who have driven six hours to this particular airport take your sarcasm literally. Does that make you a bad person? I know Punk can't be horrible, because he takes the time to do radio station and podcast interviews, and acknowledges wrestling journalists (such as Reel Wrestling, despite their slight annoyingness), not to mention does a large amount of autograph sessions. You believe what you want to, but I think this is an overreacting mark.
