Sorry, but watching Stuntman Mike fold like a house of card as soon as he's actually challenged was brilliant. He wasn't a tough guy, he was a man who murdered innocent women with a car. You can think he was a badass, but in the end, he got what was coming to him.

This should be the first rule on any website. Even KurtRussellSucks.com (note: doesn't exist.)

Having boring-assed Death Proof after Planet Terror was just a huge mistake, IMHO.
And Tarantino might have just shot his load in the mid-90s.

I agree. It's becoming pretty obvious that the guy who made the macho-bravado epic Reservoir Dogs is becoming increasingly feminized. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's a little sad that one of the very last guys known for writing awesome escapist movies for males is becoming all about the female concern. Just my $.02.

I thought the whole movie sucked personally, cool idea and all but horrible execution.

I get what he was going for in this film but it just didn't work.
I pretend Death Proof finish's after he kills the first set of girls and that the whole second half of the movie never happened. Horrible, horrible ending.

I thought the entire movie was pretty dull. Planet Terror was much better.

Was I the only one rooting for Kurt Russell in the movie? I mean, he's such a bad ass. He kills people with his awesome indestructible car, has a scar, and is just so freakin cool! Instead, a bunch of girls who spend an hour talking about nonsense and boring me to tears get to whoop his ass at the end. I wished he drove into them and knocked them off a cliff, and got to keep on going on killing people. That would have been awesome. IMO. Some people say there are no right or wrong opinions. Well, screw them because your opinion is wrong. Fixed. ;D

The entire movie sucked. Tarantino lost major points in my (worthless) book after this botch.

Geek alert: You can actually buy a Stuntman Mike action figure. I almost picked one up the other day.
I loved this movie. It's not the best one he's done, that's for sure but I like it overall. I would have preferred more killing, but what can you do. I felt that Planet Terror was the better film.
I can't wait to see QTs next though (Inglorius Basterds)

The suddeness was what made me say "...wuh?". It was a "comeuppance" ending, it just could've been a little differently done.

You can think he was a badass, but in the end, he got what was coming to him. Why is it that everyone wants the killers to get away with it in the end, anymore, anyway? It doesn't seem to matter what the movie is, everyone wants to root for the murderers. Are they all really that jealous that they're not allowed to kill people, themselves?

No, its because in Death Proof Kurt Russel was the only one who came off as an interesting likable character. He was the only thing keeping that movie going and honestly the three chicks who beat him annoyed me to no end.

DEATH PROOF would work better pared down to 40 minutes, losing those loooooooooong monologues and dull exposition parts ..... however the final chase was monstrous fun!! the ending fitted perfectly into the ethos, quick and painful!!
but a big dissapointment was the "grindhouse filmstock effect (GFE)" on the film, they virtually forgot about it in the second half of the movie!!!
now PLANET TERROR is a far superior movie, with the GFE actually almost made it a character in it (see the title sequence, the love-making scene, bruce willis's monster reveal, the MISSING REEL!!)
DEATH PROOF - 5/10 PLANET TERROR - 8/10 (close to a nine)
would like to see them pared down to 40-minute quickies, with trailers at the start and an INTERMISSION between them!!!!

I will agree, in large part, with what Frank Gotch said. Anymore, when the killer is the ONLY character that exudes ANY sort of charisma, likability (even if it IS sort of an evil, hideous likability) or character trait....it's hard NOT to root for him/her to off the dull, bland, boring, generic twentysomething GAP jeans models he/she is chasing. It gets even worse in the case of killers like Freddy Kreuger or the Joker, who almost ENDEAR themselves to you through great catchphrases and one liners. You want a killer you absolutely cannot root for? Check out Jack Ketchum's THE LOST. Ray Pye is absolutely HIDEOUS. Stuntman Mike, by comparison....hell, he's almost the film's HERO.

It was ok to me but could've been done better. Can't wait till Inglorious Bastards comes out though...
And am I the only one who didn't enjoy Planet Terror that much?
