Would love to see it if done right. I think it would have to be a heavily pre planned match but it would be fantastic just to see it for the spectacle.

Vince won't let anyone go off the snorking script. how's anyone really going to do anything on their own? J.R. has made these kind of remarks since the Raw magazine days. I suspect this will be ignored, although it would be great to have an answer for this post.

I would be excited simply for the promos. In general, it would definitely seal the deal for a Wrestlemania purchase.

Thanks for the inside scoop. Much better than listening to that random internet smark, Jim Ross. exactly what i was going to post, why bother taking the word of someone who was actually there about what goes on backstage when we can just listen to 'the varisty club' from the wrestlecrap forums whos clearly far more knowledgeable Vince won't let anyone go off the snorking script. how's anyone really going to do anything on their own? J.R. has made these kind of remarks since the Raw magazine days. I suspect this will be ignored, although it would be great to have an answer for this post. aside from the point i was making about the other post, which is basically that you or i have no clue what vince does or doesnt let people do, jr never said anything about going out and adlibbing interviews, it sounded to me more like he was saying the guys shouldnt just show up to work and wait to be told what to do, and instead go to vince or whoever and suggest their own ideas which by all accounts worked wonders for guys like stone cold and hbk

Anyone who says they wouldn't watch this is a liar. You'd get WM and you'd snorking watch it, simply as a wrestling fan, to watch the two biggest characters ever in the business. The Rock says hi. I agree with everything you said except I'd say two of the biggest characters. Rock deserves to be in that discussion.

Hogan taking the stunner would probably be Linda McMahon levels of bad. Personally I have absolutely no interest in this match whatsoever. I agree with this gentleman.

Vince needs another Roddy Piper, Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan etc. but he doesn't seem to welcome ad libbing(reportedly) or anything else he can't completely control

I'd mark if Hogan jobs to Austin in the exact same fashion that HBK jobbed to Hogan.

Just how bad is Austin's neck? I know it retired him but is it an Arn Anderson situation where even small move and falls would be painful? Where he's one off clothesline or back body drop away from ruining his life? (I mean they all are to some extent but maybe more-so for him.) If that's the case then I hope he stays home, the match would be cool but it's not worth that.

If that's the case then I hope he stays home, the match would be cool but it's not worth that. He has stated in interviews that he has a few good matches left in him. So I am assuming it is not as fragile as people think it is. I doubt he would be taking piledrivers or going through tables but he could probably still put on a decent match. If Austin's neck was THAT bad I doubt he would even think about ever having another match, since he doesn't need the money and has managed to stay out of the spotlight for years now.

why does everyone get on hulks case for not jobbing,he's lost alot in his later years, and back in the day PEOPLE DIDNT BUY TICKETS TO SEE HIM LOSE, yet none of yall complain that austin quit twice for not wanting to lose, sure it was to coach but he did quit
that being said we can see both, hulk vs big show, austin vs cena, orton or jericho

I'm sort of sick of these has-been vs has-been main events. If Hogan vs Austin happened 5 years ago it may have done well, but now I don't think anyone would care. However, as other people have posted, I would pay to see Hogan vs Cena. It would be the two of the biggest babyfaces and draws to go at it. You don't think anyone would care about a Hogan vs. Austin match? Ok, you're entitled to your opinion, but...you're wrong. I would be willing to bet you an entire paycheck...hell, make that every paycheck I ever get for the rest of my life... that if this match happens it will result in a huge number of PPV buys.

If this had been in 1998 or 1999, I would definitely love to see it. However, I think doing it today would be a huge disappointment. It would be so hyped up that it would never live up to peoples' expectations.

Hogan is only saying this because he is desperate for a job right now (what with his divorce troubles and the economy). Once the check is in his hands though, he will refuse to do the job.

Ok, this match COULD work as the "special attraction match" for WM25, sort of like Hair vs. Hair from WM23 and Big Show vs. Mayweather for WM24.
It wouldn't be the "main event" but would be one of the 'big three'...and it would have to be a street fight/no holds barred/grudge match which would take some special preperations on telling the story as to why these two want to go at it..I think it sells itself actually.
We had the passing of the torch moment with the Rock, which was a straight up wrestling match...this should be off the charts vicious and end of course with them pouring their hearts out for one last win, one last match, with a good clean handshake/hug at the end.

I'm pretty sure it'll be like the match halfway through like Rock/Hogan was.
They just have to have a main event that people will stay for or care about unlike HHH/Jericho at WM18 as I recall reading that several left after the Rock/Hogan match.

I don't think he has to beg all that much honestly as he was one of Vince's top draws for many years.

Its a simple story to tell. Vince brings Hogan back on TV, saying he was the biggest star he ever had and wants him back. Hogan comes out in full on Hollywood mode claiming to be the biggest star ever, made more money, drew more people, beaten everyone, etc, etc, etc. Glass breaks, out comes Austin, "you never beat me, son." Boom, theres your feud. The people would eat it up.
