So here's the oh-so-typical "cheer me up and make me not feel like a bag of trash" thread.
We're still gonna do the friend thing, but I'm definitely going to need some time. At the risk of sounding emo, there's this hole in my heart right now that nothing can fill. I don't want to do anything, nothing at all makes me happy.
I'll stop there before I ramble on, I know you guys all have your own issues to worry about, I'm just...f***ed up pretty good by this.

I'm sorry man, and if it helps all those sexual innuendos I've ever said about her was just because I wanted to be closer to you.

.......as long as she didn't dump you via a Myspace bulletin survey.
Trust me, you don't know the depths of hurt until that happens.
(Though oddly, my first reaction - and many reactions since - was laughter.)

I know you don't like showing off how much fun we've had together, cause you don't want everyone not invited to complain, but I just thought I'd give you a reminder of the good times. And its almost summer again, I'll unpack the squirt guns!!

I could really go for a beer, but I'm on meds for the next 2 days and can't, so I'm trying my hardest not to go back to smoking. lol...God this sucks.

Sorry to hear that, dude...
There isn't so much I can say to make things better, but I'll give you a lil piece of advice from someone who's been there (many times).
Please, DON'T.
The only amount of time you need is ZERO, because the "friends thing" ain't gonna work. Not in one month, not in six, not even in some years.
No matter how things can turn out for the best for you (and for her), the "but you dumped me, you f'n bitch" feeling will always linger on. It'll fade away, it'll become almost irrelevant at times, it'll change form: hate, grudge, disappointment, sadness... but it'll never ever go away for good.
The best you can ever achieve with her is "polite interaction in public and unavoidable occasions", just like you'd do with that cousin you saw once a year and who wasn't that nice to begin with.
That being said, don't let the bad feelings get the best of you. Go out, do something physically/mentally demanding. Keep yourself busy as much as you can.

The only thing is...I don't hate her for this. I'm in a lot of pain, yes, and I'm really not looking forward to the next little while, but she had to make a decision regarding her future and, sadly for me, I wasn't involved in it. It's really difficult for me to explain exactly how I'm feeling about this; I'm not great with words. But there's no hate there. We still care about each other, but it just got to a point where a relationship was no longer do-able. And I'm f***ing crushed about it, but in time I hope to turn this negative into a positive. That's not going to happen anytime soon though. I hate this feeling. Obviously.

Sorry man. This actually just happened to me last Thursday, but I didn't even have the heart to post something like that.
I know how you feel right now brother. Some days are worse than others. Today is my birthday and I'm feeling particularly low. Just give it time, the hole will fill itself. And don't go out and nail some chick just to spite her, because it'll end up feeling empty in the end anyway.
Good luck man.

And don't go out and nail some chick [...] it'll end up feeling empty in the end anyway. AND HOW!!! (Maybe it's because I have a dirty mind, but the double-entendre was too good to be ignored

This song seems appropriate here. Its a terrible song though, but the chorus applies.

That's rough, but it happens at least once to everybody, regardless of how nice you are or how much of a gentleman you are.

That's rough, but it happens at least once to everybody, regardless of how nice you are or how much of a gentleman you are. And sometimes in spite of and/or because of how much of a gentleman you are. I've had my share of heartbreaks, trust me. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this, but obviously fate has someone better suited for you. I wish you the best and hope that you find that someone soon.
