The return of the TODDSTER?! I am going to have Hogan v Perfect... and Hogan WILL JOB TO THE PERFECT-PLEX THIS TIME! Especially as it seems to be a new and improved animation.

Yes, that's an odd addition. Has Hayes ever worked a Wrestlemania as a wrestler...I reiterate, ever? Only in the Gimmick Battle Royal at 17. But this game takes place Manias 1-15. Now, he did work as interviewer on Mania's 11-13, I think, and hosted the countdown show for 14 when he was Dok Hendrix. If they're putting him in because he interviewed guys, hell, let's throw Todd Pettengill in there too! So, in actual fact, he is a pointless addition to the roster. I wouldn't mind him if this game was entitled 'Legends of WWE' or something. But as far as Hayes goes, his contribution to the Wrestlemania event was nothing significant. He wasn't exactly 'Mean' Gene Okerlund. Which leads me to some exclusions to the roster. Some of you have mentioned John Tenta. As a WWE Superstar, no one can contend his place as one of the great big men. But in terms of Wrestlemania itself, IMO he was a midcard filler (Earthquake vs Greg Valentine at WM VII, Adam Bomb at X etc), and his contributions would not be deemed 'legendary'. I think it is right he is left out, even though he was one of my favourites, simply because his notoriety lasted between April 1990 and Jan 1991, fueding with Hogan, and did not overspill into Wrestlemania. I'd apply the same logic to other stars as well.

Legends of WrestleMania is a marketing term as it was planned to be released to coincide with WrestleMania 25. They did not try to use the 40 wrestlers most important to the first 15 WrestleManias. Their roster was based partly on who is in good terms with WWE and who would be easy to secure the rights to include in the game (WWE legends contracts probably give WWE the right to use them). Michael Hayes was easy to secure the rights to. However, Terry Gordy would have been easy to include too since his son works for WWE and I'm sure the Gordy estate would work with WWE.

Yes, a lot of variables dictate who is in and who is out. I'm pleasantly surprised with Warrior, though. Maybe he has a deal with THQ, and did no direct dealings with WWE.

That's how THQ/Jakks gets the rights to make most of the legends action figures and put them in the games, they have to reach deals with each individual person, and then the WWE gives permission to move forward... that's why there's never been a Randy Savage figure and why he's not in this game... unless ol' Dusty is right.

Awesome! Paul Bearer can...
* Grab an opponent's leg * With Undertaker, his moves get more specific. He can, at times: o Give the Undertaker more power o Cause the Undertaker to rise after being knocked down o Smash a nearby opponent with his urnOhhhhh yesssssss!
