Can we stop this, Cause isn't arguing on the threads...well....bad? I see no need for an argument, I'm simply not going to blindly worship a game or a company who can't seem to get the easiest things in the world right. Half the animations are still recycled from the SD series or are just plain wrong (Does Hogan's big boot look even remotely close to the one he actually did?), I'd say that about 30% of the entrance themes in the game are wrong, entrance attire is a complete abortion. It wouldn't be as big of a deal except for the fact that...well....THQ/Yukes are NOT EXACTLY NEW TO THIS. They've had the WWE license for over 9 years. Why does Undertaker have a hat but no coat? It looks just plain wrong. Where's Rick Rude's robe, you know, a huge part of his gimmick/entrance? Where's Yokozuna's robe, HHH's coat, Honky's jumpsuit, etc etc etc? Leaving that kind of stuff out is pure laziness, but as long as people buy the product anyway they'll never change. It'd be different if things like this were left out for a huge roster, but the 40 +/- guys in the game don't even come close to touching some of the SD games that had several more memory consuming game modes than this one is likely to have. No one wants to hear it or think about it, but you're getting excited for a game you all know basically NOTHING about save for the roster, which is lacking and questionable in itself. And am I the only one who noticed the poster who actually played a demo of the game at some comic con or whatever said it actually played pretty crappy? Unfortunately, I'm sure I'll be buying this game whether it's good or not. I hope it is. But every time something about it excites me, I see something stupid and lazy on THQ's part to kill that enthusiasm. No, entrances are not a big part of the actual "game play mechanics", but for a game who's entire design is based around the "Relive" concept...how can you properly achieve this when it doesn't look right? If you don't care about entrances, skip them, but I do. Its a big part of the atmosphere, and from what I'm seeing they've blown that part of it already.

Ummmm...This game looks good?? I don't know, I'm not worried about entrances and music. That all can be changed manually, you know? No use crying over a dirty spot in the middle of the cleanest plate, small things like shirts during entrances can be overlooked

If you don't care about entrances, skip them, but I do. Its a big part of the atmosphere, and from what I'm seeing they've blown that part of it already. I agree that entrance attire should be in the game, if they can have a bird on someones arm they could have a coat on someone. But you say THQ is lazy with entrance themes when maybe there were other parties not willing to give them the songs, just like what happened with the Wrestlemania box set. So, in a sense it would mean THQ isn't lazy (they're cheap) and they're actually doing more work trying to find songs that sound somewhat similar to the original entrance themes.

Thats the main problem I see with this game. Even if the gameplay is great it doesn't appear we'll be getting very many game modes. Only having 40 wrestlers in a next gen only game does seem pretty weak. SvR has over 60 and the UFC game is supposed to have over 80 and their based on current product only. This game is covering 15 years and they literally have hundreds of guys signed to pick from.

DLC should fix stuff. And if not...I don't really care.
I'm still buying this game as long as they fix the controls. The demo I played at NYCC was horrible.

I'm really wondering if disc storage limitations aren't at least partly to blame for the lack of entrance attire on some of the wrestlers. You'd think there would be plenty of room, especially considering that there are less guys on the roster than some of the SvR games, as well as match modes and other things.
However, there is also archival video footage in this game-supposedly quite a bit of it. That eats up room, especially considering they have to fit it all on a standard DVD-9 (8.5 gb). The PS3 games are on Blu-rays, but since it is a cross platform game, they develop for the lowest common denominator and port.
It could be a case where any wrestler that has any entrance attire that he doesn't wrestle in has to be rendered as an entirely separate model. So, in essence, there would have to be doubles of guys like Rude, Taker, Sgt. Slaughter, Honky, etc. It's easy for them to have things like Undertaker's hat, the bag with Damien for Jake, and Frankie for Koko B. Ware because they are just additional little items that they can just insert a small line of code to have them disappear once the match starts. Those guys enter in the same outfits they will wrestle in, so it is much easier.
It could have been a choice of have them come out with some of their signature entrance attire missing, or have them come in with it and have to wrestle in it as well. I wish Rick Rude had his robe, too, but if I had to pick, I'd rather not see him wrestle in the game with his robe on.
I'm not sure at all if the above is true, but I have to believe that THQ wouldn't be leaving out such obvious things without a reason. If they are, then that is pathetic.

I grew up on 80's wrestling and been a fan ever since. This game is right up my alley, but everything about it shouts "cheap, lazy cash in".
The roster has too many huge gaps, the models are cartoony, the animations are recycled and the gameplay looks horrid. Button prompts? Really? I want to play a wrestling sim, not Simon Says.

The button prompts are very bothersome to me, too. I have seen quite a few instances in the videos shown where there were no prompts, though, so I am really hoping that they can either be turned off or are only in a certain part of the game, or certain difficulty level.

I'm scared about the controls.
Seems like everything is really disjointed and slow.

It's my #1 pet peeve in gaming right now. Seems every game I play has this at some point. Call of Duty, Spiderman 3, Star Wars:Force unleashed, etc. I hate it! It's 2009, what is this? Space Ace? Dragon's Lair?
