I don't know about this game. At first, I was a bit apathetic about it. Then, I started to gain some interest in it a little while ago. After reading some of the various complaints here, I am feeling a lot more reluctant to give this game a shot.

However, there is also archival video footage in this game-supposedly quite a bit of it. That eats up room, especially considering they have to fit it all on a standard DVD-9 (8.5 gb). The PS3 games are on Blu-rays, but since it is a cross platform game, they develop for the lowest common denominator and port. If they're lazy, yes. The Darkness is an example for a multi-platform game that had some extra stuff in the PS3 version because there is more space on the disc. No, it's like that: When you can let your CAWs have an entrance attire and an in-ring attire, there is no reason why you can't have the "original" roster have that, too. It doesn't make a difference if it's a hat, a pair of glasses or a robe, it's still an object that is put onto the same one model of a wrestler - the robe will use a bit more memory because it's more detailed, but a lack of entrance attires could really only be the developers' lazyness or lack of time.

I grew up on 80's wrestling and been a fan ever since. This game is right up my alley, but everything about it shouts "cheap, lazy cash in". The roster has too many huge gaps, the models are cartoony, the animations are recycled and the gameplay looks horrid. Button prompts? Really? I want to play a wrestling sim, not Simon Says. Careful, you're not allowed to point out obvious flaws like these without drowning in a pool of others' tears. Speaking of animations....did Taker ever shake and convulse like he does in the IGN reveal animation where Bearer holds the urn up to him? I always remember him just standing still or doing his little kneeling salute deal to the urn. Just seemed kinda silly when I watched it, but at least they bothered to give the managers and wrestlers some degree of interaction. Now if I find out you can put Heenan with Perfect, and he catches the towel Perfect throws, hell, I'm buying it for sure. Also I'm gonna go ahead and guess that you can turn off the button prompts once you learn the controls. Thats how LOW Showdown was, and if that game does anything better than this one, well, you'll never hear the end of it from me. ;D

Yeah, the way I see it is, Legends is going to be a great game because it's not being made by Acclaim. It'd be hard to make a game as poor as Legends of Wrestling, which had a great concept, just poor execution.

I liked the Acclaim games, especially the 2nd one.

No one noticed that Fink got the year of the Hogan-Warrior match wrong? In the Warrior section of the latest video, he said it happened in 1992... that was WrestleMania 8. 2 years off...
God I feel like a nerd.

I love how critical people are of this game.
Yeah it might be crap, but who knows until you play it?
little disturbed by the button prompts, but willing to read the reviews and give it a spin myself.
As for the other criticisms of the music, animations, and attire. What can you do? I don't even blame them for the music as it's the WWE's fault for their stupid royalty issues they have. THQ uses what it can.
No game in the history of the world is perfect. Unfortunately, for wrestling fans the passion on their favorite characters is similar to that you would find of a Star Wars or Lord of the Rings fan.
If anything even slightly changes or is missing that usually brings out anger and negative message board posts about how it is terrible. That appears to be what Gladiator Godz is showing.
And its fine. If you aren't happy about it, then don't buy it. THQ made a few mistakes with the game, but it still lets me play Andre the Giant vs Stone Cold so I'm happy.
Why nitpick when you can just enjoy what we DO have? We have a game that features a lot of guys that we enjoyed watching as we grew up or for those that might have watched on DVD years later.
Smile, you'll live longer.

Yeah, not like Michael Hayes and Hunter could have been dropped for two others sayyyyyyy....Razor Ramon and a certain slim jim spokesman. Or it could be since they had Rock and Austin then of course HHH had to find a way in.

The inclusion of Razor and an orange ladder would have been awesome.
I'm still going to purchase this game, as I'm a mark for all of the Legend stuff.
I guess they could have put Duke The Dumpster Droese and TL Hopper, and I'd still purchase it.

Remember there are still hidden wrestlers they aren't announcing... It'd be hilarious if one was Savage after all the complaining that's been going on here and elsewhere. That has a .00000000000000000000000000000000000001 chance of happening though.

Can you add custom theme songs. Because if you can't, that'll solve some of the kvetching going on round here.

Custom soundtracks were in the last SvR game, and this game looks like it has the exact same template, so I would hope it's a safe bet it will be in this game too.

If you don't mind speculation, Earthquake and Ricky Steamboat are often talked of as being unlockable in the game as well. I haven't seen any proof though, unlike the pic of Muraco that surfaced.
Personally, I would use both Quake and Steamboat often. Earthquake would become my monster of choice when I feel like squashing folks. I haven't heard if you can create tag teams and stables, but I'd definitely make Quake and Yoko a team (anyone got a good name for them?).
I'd use Steamboat against Flair and Anderson and for some matches against Hart, Perfect, and Rude.

The best I can come up with is something like Total Annihilation or Complete Devestation.
