Paying for an obvious rushed/inferior/lazy product (If that is what this game turns out to be) and ignoring the flaws, that's rather sheep-like to me. I didn't read the preview yet because SFIV now owns my soul, but, if it really is only 4 front grapples....I'm guessing its actually 12, 4 for each power level or whatever the 1-2-3 under the players' names are.

Yes, the real sheep will be the ones that buy this no matter what. I held out hope for the TNA game and said I would buy just to have an alternative because I was so disillusioned with the Smackdown series at the time. After they released more and more info about the game and how limited it was and after reading reviews I had to pass. I didn't even rent it. I'm still holding out hope that this could be good. But there's so many warning signs that I'm going to wait and read reviews. All that said, SvR09 is an excellent game so at least it won't be too big a disappointment if Legends sucks.

I really prefer the limited moveset.
After all, I don't want to see Hulk Hogan busting out a Pedigree or Ultimate Warrior doing a Figure Four when they have never done said moves.
That was my biggest problem with the Legends of Wrestling series years ago.

That was my biggest problem with the Legends of Wrestling series years ago. The moves don't have to be fancy. I'd still prefer a variety of basic moves - Bodyslam, Hip toss, armdrag, suplex, rib breaker, inverted atomic drop, bearhug, arm wrench, throat chop, standing clothesline, knee lift, etc.

Many people said they thought it was ok that the wrestlers in the Legends Of Wrestling games had moves they never did in real life because it would be boring if they had their real moves. I thought it was stupid. Sure, Andre wasn't the most technical sound wrestler. Yet, he did more than 4 moves from the front. It's just a matter of what moves they give him. At the top of my head I can think of a body slam, backbreaker, choke, piledriver setup stomp, ramming his opponents head into his knee, that double underhook suplex/hip toss hybrid, maybe a more deliberate body slam, club to the back, big slap and there's probably more. I never had a problem creating a guy in a wrestling game and giving him proper moves. It shouldn't be a problem for developers.

So no one thinks I'm right about my theory that there's 4 moves for each of the "1-2-3" power levels you're currently in? Cause 12 front grapples per guy is plenty for me, given the roster/time era.
See?
I don't complain about everything.
Now if its just 4 grapples period, there's no way I'm buying this.

Combining what the Wikipedia entry says (Yeah, I know, dependable as a 3 dollar watch), and how the "Spirit" meter appears to work in the videos, it looks like you start out with "Level 1" moves. Fill the Meter till the "2" lights up, and you now fight with Level 2 Moves. And so on, with the final Level giving you the ability to use your Finisher. Just as Godz says. Which sounds interesting; no breaking out the huge moves till you've "worked up" to them. I seem to remember reading somewhere that an early build featured 3 ways to execute a move from a grapple; tap, double tap, and hold button. Probably have this wrong, though.

Building up to finishers... I REALLY like that idea. Well the developers did say they were trying for a more arcade type feel. I guess this would make the most sense.

This the game I never could have as a kid. I'll be getting it. Heck, I might even get SVR 2009 to have Khali vs Andre or Yokozuna Plus its got the Ultimate Warrior...my all-time favourite.

Anything Warrior-related equals instant buy for me. Well, except for that Legends of Wrestling game... the gameplay was pretty bad. I rented it once, back when you could still rent things, and that was about it. I love using Khali in 09. I think the first guy I choose is the Warrior, and either Heartbreak Kid or Bret as his opponent. I WILL re-enact WrestleMania 12 though.

Though I hope the new THQ game borrows the notion of multiple costumes/skins for the wrestlers. I dug the All-American Warrior get-up. Yes, me too sir. Warrior will be my first selection. I might just re-enact Halloween Havoc 98 first, tho' This aspect, however, above all else (technicalities like 'Taker missing long cloak) gets me excited about this game. The prospect of having dream matches that never were...and beating the shit out of Helmsley in under two minutes ;D

I think think I'll choose Hogan first... and have him whoop the holy hell out of Michael PS Hayes for showing his face in this game.

I'm heading straight for Arn Anderson..... just for the spinebuster and the Four Horsemen theme, which I hope will be included.

I don't remember PS ever taking part in a WrestleMania.
Kinda odd to have him by himself, when his legend was made due to the Fabulous Freebirds, and not as a singles star.

The first thing I'm gonna do when I get the game is "rewrite" WM9 and replace Yokozuna and Mr Fuji with Mr Perfect and Bobby Heenan.
Oh yeah, and make damn sure I turn "Interference" off. Sorry Hulk.

Has Hayes ever worked a Wrestlemania as a wrestler...I reiterate, ever? Only in the Gimmick Battle Royal at 17. But this game takes place Manias 1-15. Now, he did work as interviewer on Mania's 11-13, I think, and hosted the countdown show for 14 when he was Dok Hendrix. If they're putting him in because he interviewed guys, hell, let's throw Todd Pettengill in there too!
