Wolvering? Is that like what Wolverine does?
I really enjoyed it. People are complaining about the story, which I don't get, I thought it worked. They're complaining about the misuse of Deadpool, which I do get, but it didn't bother me, and there are rumours to suggest their complaints are unjustified anyway. I get the complaints about the special effects, some of the CGI was utter crap, but some of it was great.
As a Gambit fanboy, I'd been waiting 10 years to see him come to life on the big screen, and thank you David Benioff, Skip Woods, Gavin Hood and more importantly Taylor Kitsch for giving me a rendition of Gambit that did the character proud. Any possible plotholes leading into the original X-Men films were tied up (maybe barring Stryker, but let's just assume he gets away with it), and the action was great. Would people be complaining as much about this if we hadn't had the first two X-Men films? Somehow, I doubt it.
So yeah, ignore the reviews and the senseless haters - big thumbs up from one X-Men geek.

Wolvering? Is that like what Wolverine does? what wolvering thing <_< Hmm, I must have... misread >_> I forgot to put it in my original post but in the scene with Stryker and General Munson, I can't have been the only one to notice Omega Red's tentacles in the background. A similar easter egg to Captain America's shield in Iron Man, but boy did I mark out.

Not sure if I'm allowed to link to this, but if you look, there's a site that has the Deadpool post credits scene.

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
I seen the midnight preview last night, and I thought it was terrible. It started out decently, but then went downhill quickly. Here were my problems with the film:
-As feared, Deadpool was ruined (the scene after the credits salvaged it a bit, but still didn't heal the wounds)
-The action was bland (I've always stated that it takes a mark of bad filmmaking to make an action sequence boring (Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich seem to be experts at this))
-There was a little bit of too much comedy (with most of it not coming from Deadpool, sadly), even at moments when it wasn't called for.
-Characters seemed to be just thrown in to please the fans (which will most likely backfire).
-It was 20 minutes too short. Granted, it was a blessing in disguise. But, it felt like they rushed through the end (and some of the middle), just to get it done on time.
Here were the things I liked:
-As mentioned earlier, it started out decently. There was a fun little action sequence (the only fun action sequence), and we got to see some of the poorly-used characters do their thing. Also, Ryan Reynolds was great as Deadpool in the beginning.
-Gambit was down correctly, even if briefly. Taylor Kitsch did great.
Overall, I was underwhelmed with the film. The action wasn't fun, scenes felt rushed, too much comedy, and Deadpool was ruined. This was a bad way to start the summer movie season.
Final Grade: D
*END OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

Is Liev Shrieber (sp?) a good Sabretooth? I thought he did good. I normally don't like recasts, but I've heard he was a good actor, so I was cautiously optimistic. I think I'll see this movie anyway, as it STILL looks better than Rise of Cobra (at least to me).

I thought Schreiber was one of the best parts of the movie. He was never once referenced as Sabretooth, he was Victor Creed throughout, so it was interesting to see him before he apparently became feral and lost his memories too.

I'd give it the nod over Iron Man ... if the last character wasn't Deadpool. And even in his badassery glory. Dude had a lot going for him. Just ... just not Deadpool.

For the record, I liked the movie quite a bit. It's just a fun summer popcorn movie to zone out to and watch stuff blow up and what not. I just saw the Deadpool after-credit scene and it's something, not much, but it's something.

I'm curious to hear the reviews from all the people who were saying they were boycotting this movie.

Just got back from the early show, it was pretty cool. I'm not a die hard fan of X-men but I have enjoyed all of the movies so my grade for it is a solid B.
