From someone who is not a comic book fan, can you please explain how Deadpool was "ruined"? I thought he was a pretty badass character. Being a big poker and gambling fan, it was cool to see Gambit in the movie. I hope we see more of his character. Also, another newbie question. I am guessing Sabertooth in the movie is the same Sabertooth from X-Men 1, but yet did they mention anything about Wolverine being his brother, and didn't he die quite easily in the movie? Makes his character in Origins seem out of place...or maybe I just need to watch part 1 again. Deadpool's powers in the comic book: - Healing factor(now not Wolverine level of healing, but he could heal pretty fast) - Immortality(Thanos, a total badass, was pissed off when Deadpool was dating Death, so Thanos made it to where Deadpool can never see Death again, which means he can't die) Deadpool's powers in the movie(from what I saw of the trailers/screenshots): - Blades coming from body - Cyclops' laser eyes - Wraith's teleportation - Healing factor Basically they gave him powers that he NEVER HAD IN THE FIRST PLACE! Oh, and as already stated, they took Deadpool, who's full name in the comics is Deadpool the Merc with the Mouth, and sewn his mouth shout. Basically they turned him completely around from who he is in the comics. It isn't a change like they did with Juggernaut in X3 where they changed some things(such as his background and slightly changed his powers) but kept him pretty much the same guy we knew as Juggernaut.

Gambit ruled in this movie.
Was pretty cool; popcorn flick.
The Deadpool guy having his mouth shut was awesome if just for a throwaway line by Wolverine.

I'll second the "Gambit ruled" motion. I just wish they had made his accent a little thicker.

I liked the movie, apparantly different theaters got different endings after the credits, but here's the SPOILER for what I saw after all the credits...
After all the credits, Ryan Reynolds is walking through the rubble at Three Mile Island, and he finds the head of the Deadpool/ Weapon XI, picks it up, and says "Who are you supposed to be?"
Now this ending isn't shown at all movies (supposedly there are 4 different endings), but the ending I saw made me think that Weapon XI was just a clone.

Then, the head whispers "Shhh." *END OF SPOLERS* I wish I got your ending.

I feel like I got the short end of the stick with the after-the-credits scene I got. Wolverine having a drink at what I presume is a bar in Japan. Woo... hoo. I'd have rather seen the extra Deadpool scene. It sounds interesting.

What I'm taking from the Deadpool ending is that if/when they make the Deadpool film, they will use Reynolds again and when they are assigning him a code name he might have an exchange like this:
Wade: "Hey, what was the code name of that guy who's severed head I picked up in the secret after credits ending to X-Men Origins: Wolverine?"
Scientist: "Deadpool."
Wade: "Deadpool? I like the sound of that. It is a pool and it is dead. I'll take that name."

What I don't understand is why they are seperating the endings. It's going to confuse the hell out of people who don't see the Reynolds ending when the next movie with Deadpool is here and he shows up and goes "Oh, that other guy was just my clone."

I think they could fairly easily modify the movie Deadpool into being more like the classic version, if they wanted to.

Maybe it'll be like the Mortal Kombat games, where we see multiple endings but only 1 of them gets to be legit when the next game/movie comes out?

They had to do something after the leaked version caused such a shit storm of anti-hype on the web. This makes sure people go anyways. Personally I can't wait for the DVD that way I can see all of the endings.

It's also a very crappy ploy to trick people to go see the movie again in hopes of possibly getting a different ending.

The only complaint I had with Gambit was his staff remind me more of a pimp cane with the big crystal knob it had at the end of it;
I mean how much would it of cost cgily to atleast made the staff remotly cool sense it was his weapon of choose in the movie

Holy crap I did not notice that. Slight refeence to Exiles in the movie. Not just Exiles. Heather Hudson in the 616 universe has a history with Wolverine as well. They were in Alpha Flight right? And when a vesion of her was on the Exiles team she was in love with and engaged with Wolverine before she killed him. Deadpool-The movies are cannon to the movies unfortunately.

If I'm remembering correctly, Heather Hudson in the 616 universe was another one of Wolverine's past flings.
