I think I saw the entire movie by piecing together the 6 weeks worth of promos that they showed on WWE programming.

You can't go up against a 3d CGI movie. That's just suicide.

Memo to WWE, just do Direct to DVD movies. It might be smarter, i mean if a heavily hyped JOHN CENA movie cant bring in Hollywood blockbuster money...might be a good idea to do straight to dvd ones

This isn't surprising in the least. The common moviegoer doesn't care about John Cena, and there were no other cast members that people really know/care about either. Add on top of that the fact that the trailers show the piss-poor acting and really bad effects and cinematography, and there's your reason for a crappy opening.
If WWE wants to release movies, they should do as has already been mentioned in this thread and go the direct to DVD route. Considering the fact that 12 Rounds already looked like a direct to DVD movie, it would have been a much smarter idea. I'm sure Vince's ego tells him that WWE is worthy of theatrical release, despite that fact that no film critic or movie fan take them seriously whatsoever.

CEna said the the movie was a succes in that interview where he challenged the rock? And if the movie does bomb in theaters, I wonder who is Vince going to blame this time? ( He blame the failure of the Condemned on Lionsgate.)

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle...
You mean to tell me that a badly over-hyped, generic Action movie with a guy a lot of older fans of the business that made him famous can't stand failed to deliver? Bummer. I was looking forward to the 2 monts of hype 13 Rounds would've received.
WWE Films, just call it a career. John Cena as the highest profile star in your movie = NO BUYS!

Kane > Cena and Stone Cold in sales. Yeah, but the real reason behind that is that high school kids will go to ANY horror movie that comes out. If they want to see an action movie they have tons of options will bigger budgets and better casts, but with horror, basically all of them are low-budget and no-name casts.

( He blame the failure of the Condemned on Lionsgate.) CM Punk has recently received HEATZ for the failure of 12 Rounds. Source: Rajah.com

Well they made their worst loss on a film starring Stone Cold Steve Austin. So it might have more to do with WWE not being very good at making or promoting films.
