Guess JD wasn't so safe a PPV buy as a lot thought.

Writer: "You'd think it would be a good idea to have C.M. Punk use this title match at the PPV in Chicago?"
Vince: "Why the hell would we do that for?"
Writer: "He's from Chicago."
Vince: "He is? Well in the case, put him in the first match, have him job and if possible somebody cut a hole in his pants backstage so when we puts them on, he's got a giant hole in his crotch."
Writer: "Why don't you ever let the hometown guy ever win in his hometown?"
Vince: "Shut up. That's why. Now does anybody have a pair of scissors and some baby oil? I got a great idea on what to do to his gym bag."
Orton: "I'm already on it!"

That was a pretty meh throwaway PPV. We'll get mostly rematches at Extreme Rules I'm sure.

Above average Pay per view.
Swagger/Christian, Morrison/Benjamin and Rey/JEricho were all good to great.
Umaga/Punk and HArdy/Edge were fine.
Orton/Batista was pretty meh, but not out right bad.
Show/Cena was outright bad.

Why does WWE always waste people in their hometowns? Punk gets trashed by Umaga and then doesn't cash in despite the crowd clearly wanting it. Whatever happened to sending the fans home happy? supercena won despite coming back from being thrown through a 7,000 mega killowatt searchlight and in Vince's eyes if that doesnt make you happy then theres no chance in hell for you.

That show was very mediocre. Yeah. A big disappointment in my book. Edge/Hardy, Misterio/Jericho, Punk/Umaga, Christian/Swagger and Morrison/Benjamin were good but, the not so long awaited return of SuperCena, 15 minutes of Miz/Santino/Sorano/Chavo and a horrible Orton/Batista match drug the show down horribly in my eyes.

They have something else planned? I mean I would have been all for it, but they can't just book shows based on the city they are in. I know, but it seems like they always job people out in their hometowns. After a while I just start to wonder if the results would have been the same in a different city.

Pretty good PPV, though the ending was a bit flat. We got two 3.5/4 star-matches, and no one embarrassed themselves.
Plus, Matt's attempts at "hiding" were hilarious.

the PPV was decent matchwise but continues the Judgment Day tradition of being largely irrelevant.

Anyway, if the crowd had been more into it throughout the whole match then Edge-Jeff would have been MOTN, but I'll give it to Jericho-Rey instead. Worst match was probably Cena-Show.

My thoughts. Another solid/strong PPV. First 4 matches were good to very good, then went down hill, though Flair coming out to help Tista was kind of cool, then the PPV went back to very good with Edge & Hardy. The only thing about Edge & Hardy is that you could tell the fans wanted Punk, I mean you never see/hear a match with Hardy in it be that dead.
Now I want to talk about the ending with Cena and Big show because Cena winning like nothing happen was complete bullshit! Now you'll say that's how Cena is always booked but, that's not true, over the past year he's been a normal booked Main Event star, well normal as Cena can be but, whatever, tonight was crap. Then he no sells the whole match after it's over and WWE wonders why alot of people hate Cena.

Have to say this though: I am not upset at the Cena win...but at the WAY he won. Way to just completely say "f*** it" to the story the entire match had been telling. That kind of ending is tailor made for a move like the Sweet Chin Music, RKO, or Stunner...not a god damn FU.
There was no WAY Cena should have been able to lift the Big Show, hold him there, and FU him. NONE. I don't care if he "Hulked up" to do it or not...it pissed right in the face of the logic of the match. You want to show people how Cena overcomes the odds? Have him go OUTSIDE his normal move set to beat the monster. Have him use either a Guillotine, or a kimura, or hell, let him bust out a Stunner...I mean if Eugene can do a Rock Bottom, Cena can do a Stunner to be the Big Show.
None of those moves throw away the match psychology like the FU did in this situation.
/ two cents.

Hell, I wish he'd have wrapped his fist in a chain ala WrestleMania XX and just clocked Show, myself. It would have made sense, and also saved Big Show's credibility because Cena had to sock him with a steel chain just to win.

THAT would have worked too...and it would have set up a chain match at Extreme Rules.
