Just wondering if anyone knows the politics behind some of the releases, and whether there is more to them than meets the eye.
Were some of them requested by the wrestlers? Were they solely the WWE's decision? Or what exactly, as I find it unusual that a lot of these have been released, while others in a similar situation to the one they were in have been retained.
Examples, are:
The Dudleys - arguably the most successful and popular tag team of the last 10-15 years, and still the force they used to be when given the chance (see One Night Stand)
Matt Morgan - a hugely improved rookie, and one of the few big guys who could actually look good in the ring. They've been raving about him for the last few months. He'd really worked on his skills in and out of the ring, and I can't help but feel he ended up paying the price for a lame gimmick.
Joy Giovanni - while she hasn't been on tv recently, she (along with Melina) is the cream of the crop when it comes to the divas on Smackdown. Why not release Michelle McCrap?
Marty Jannetty - what was the point of bringing him in for one night, where he impressed a lot of sceptics and got major crowd reactions, and then taking him off tv and releasing him 3 months later? WTF!?
Anyway, apologies if this issue has been discussed already within the 20,000 pages of this thread, but I can't be bothered to read thru them all.

I think Morgan got cut because Brock is coming back. Brock is a billion times better than Morgan, and it doesn't make sense to have two rookie uber-hosses on the same show. Especially since they both use the F5 (Though Morgan could go back to the Stutter Slam)

I've always considered Jindrak underappreciated, IMO WWE should've just put him back with O'Haire and made them a staple in the undermanned tag-division for a few years while they gained experience.
Haas is a real shame, one of those cuts I just dont' get. I actually like him with Rico quite a bit.
I can't believe Hogan still has a job, who puts on a more boring match or has a worse finisher?
Sucks that Jannetty finally gets some personal-life things squared away but can't get a break in the ring now.
I can understand bringing back Brock, he is the best monster-heel in the biz and just the right guy to elevate Batista to the next level when he eventually goes over Brock.

Hogan will have a job as long as he is breathing. But he won't do one... and that's what pisses me off. You have a total egomaniac in Hulk Hogan who has to go over the stars of today, then you have Kurt Angle who IS the star of today yet he'll put anyone over.

In case anyone forgot (and I am NOT a Hogan mark...)
Hogan jobbed to Rock, Brock, Angle, Trips... The guy is willing to job now that he has lost his ability to... I want to say "wrestle", but it doesn't seem like the right way to describe it...

All of those that Hogan 'jobbed' to weren't exactly 'jobs' in the useful sense, with the exception of Lesnar. The Rock didn't need to get any further over at that point, nor did Trips, Angle... Taker certainly didn't.

I was surprised by this one because he is a perfect example of Vince's boner. I mean by this is that Vince seems to have a hard on for big muscular guys. What made it weirder was that I don't think he had a Heidenreich-esque type match yet. I would of loved to see him have a Hercules type gimmick (he does look like Steve Reeves) Joy Giovanni - while she hasn't been on tv recently, she (along with Melina) is the cream of the crop when it comes to the divas on Smackdown. Why not release Michelle McCrap? Well at least Michelle tried to wrestle. What the heck did Joy ever do besides being Big Show's gf/Amy Weber's nemisis?

PWTorch is reporting a rumor that Jerry Lawler may be released:
Concerning the WWE's decision to not seek renegotiation with The Dudleys this past week, one WWE wrestler wasn't said to be surprised of the move at all. "Creative kept telling the Dudleys they were trying to come up with something for them," said the wrestler. "But they never had anything for them. Their leaving doesn't surprise me at all"
With the recent addition of The Coach to the RAW broadcast team, some speculation is taking place within WWE that Jerry Lawler could be moved off the team or even released by WWE possibly. The overwhelming opinion of Lawler in WWE is that he is seen as overpaid of what is asked of him and many feel The Coach can fill his shoes for a much smaller salary. It should be noted that Coach is said to be more popular and social with key members of the WWE production staff than Lawler is at this point.
This is my opinion but I'm not fan of the Coach. I find him annoying, he's ok for second tier and interviews but I'm not a big fan. I probably do the same thing that I did the last time Lawler was gone and they put Paul Heyman in his place and not watch Raw or the WWE(albeit if it happens), but that's my opinion.
