Yeah, it's not like UFC's world champion was the top guy in WWE for two years or anything.

IMO give WWE a few more years and they will also branch out into MMA

IMO give WWE a few more years and they will also branch out into MMA I sure hope so, considering how successful their bodybuilding, football, and film offerings have been.

I'd say UFC is getting better at the drama aspect - some of it manufactured in the countdown shows and Ultimate Fighter, some not like the Couture heavyweight title situation (something WWE might want to think about with the current Batista situation). Nick Diaz is also a very effective heel in Strikeforce, though he broke kayfabe in his last fight. JBL said in an interview that the first MMA fighter to truly embrace being a heel would make huge money. I think a lot of fighters are reluctant to stay as heels after a fight is over because they fear losing sponsorship deals if the public really does think they're jackasses, rather than just selling a fight on PPV.
The stars aspect in some respects is pretty laughable when MMA one of biggest PPV draws in America today in Brock Lesnar, though WWE may claim a lot of credit for that. GSP is a pretty big star in Canada. Though in general there is something to the complaint that while UFC and MMA as a whole is hot, a lot of the fighters in UFC are not really household names apart from Lesnar and GSP. Instead in UFC for instance Dana White often comes across as a bigger star than a lot of his fighters, when really it should be the other way round.

Yeah MMA have no stars.. right.. jeez. Dude, the ONLY MMA/UFC guy I could pick out of a lineup would be Brock Lesnar, and that was because of his WWE run. All the rest are just a bunch of shaved head, tribal tat sportin' bags of generic.

Same thing goes for people who don't follow wrestling, some wouldn't have a clue who SCSA is.

Did people actually read the article?
All she is saying is that MMA is much more prone to losing stars, which makes it harder for them to make stars. Meanwhile, WWE can repackage it's stars, and they're more likely to stay healthy.

I don't see why MMA would need storylines or manufactured drama to take away audience share from WWE in the first place. It's a real sport.
Football, basketball, etc. don't have any storylines yet WWE often likes to cite those as reasons for ratings drops.

You think the average person can tell them apart?

But here's the thing, take any two random guys from UFC, let's say Chuck Liddell and.....Random UFC guy #142, and they're in a fight. Why? Why should I care who wins or loses? Especially if a belt's not on the line?
