... but his Personnal Coach gimmick was awesome!! Glad to see someone go from being a creepy stalker to becoming an example of well-being and self respect.

Only reason DDP was anything in this biz was because he was forced down our throats in 96 and 97 by his next door neighbor

Only reason DDP was anything in this biz was because he was forced down our throats in 96 and 97 by his next door neighbor I doubt it was that, the guy got a slow build and the fans embraced him. It's not like they just threw him out there and say "Hey cheer this guy". The fans loved him, they didn't need to force anything. As for his WWE run, I definitely think he could've got a better tenure, but Nash said in his shoot that DDP always wanted to work there so I guess he was willing to put up with some of the things they had him do like lose to Sara.

He had more charisma than alot of the guys wrestling today, and was a great talker. I think he earned alot of what he got, and not from just kissing bischoff's butt.

The guy worked his way up the card for years, and it's not like they even had to do that much "forcing" as the crowd loved him from the moment he took down the nWo members Hall & Nash.

I can't believe how well the crowd responded to this video! Maybe DDP was really getting over with this gimmick. Or, maybe it just goes to show that a chick bending in half will make the crowd cheer for anything.

Only reason DDP was anything in this biz was because he was forced down our throats in 96 and 97 by his next door neighbor It couldn't have been the hard work he put into learning the ropes, becoming an actual talented wrestler, and being an INCREDIBLE talker. Couldn't have been the fans taking an incredible liking to him even before he got a super amazing push. It certainly couldn't have been his all-around talent and good mind for the business, not to mention being reliable and clean. Nope, it's all because he happened to be friends with the Bisch. He was clearly just another talentless hack who didn't deserve what he had.

DDP was entertaining. He had a great finisher, great catchphrase, and could wrestle & talk on the mic.

Not everyone could be an amateur wrestler or be trained by Verne Gagne. i think it's a tribute to how hard he worked, the fact that he was older than most trainees, trained at the Power Plant, and payed his dues like everyone else.

DDP was a blue collar guy, mediocre at best who worked his way up the card and had a GREAT fued with Randy Savage that got him over, that and a finisher that was treated as instant death.

DDP was an overrated, god awful looking man who got a far bigger push in both WCW and WWE than he ever deserved. He's lucky Vince even gave him a pay check.

Did you ever see his match with Goldberg, by any chance? Or most of his WCW work? DDP was a damn good worker and was hugely over for a long time in WCW, and no amount of McMahon retconning can take that away from him.

I hate talking about WCW guys that never moved over to the WWF on this board. Everyone treats WCW like it was some completely plagued place where there wasn't a single talented wrestler and it was terrible for its entire existence. There really needs to be a way to ban people that did not watch WCW from making comments on WCW guys. 8 years later and we still have to deal with the "WCW sucks therefore anyone that was over there sucked unless they came to the WWF because then they were awesome" mentality that plagued the internet years ago. Who would've thunk it?

Who would've thunk it? That's because the InVasion poisoned WWE marks' minds in regards to WCW (and, arguably, ECW as well). DDP was AT LEAST as good worker, IMO, as Randy Orton (same finisher and all!) and he certainly gets pushed by WWE. And that hypocrite Flair should shut the snork up, nobody would care about him if it weren't for WCW. Flair bashing WCW is as silly as Hogan bashing WWE.
