So I'm on youtube, and I've started watching some of the Top Moments from Smackdown! 10th Anniversary DVD, and Cena's debut against Kurt Angle is number 30.
That's not the case. Check this out:
Listen from 1:20 to about 1:40. Did you hear it?
Did they REALLY just add in those kind of cheers when Cena debuted? What the hell was point? To brainwash kids that everyone loved Cena the moment they laid their eyes on him?

I remember the Undertaker handshake afterward that is more memorable

They usually pipe in crowd noise when they overdub a theme.

I...didn't really hear much there. Like seriously there was a little bit, but it wasn't anything remarkable.

...god, Cena's hair looked stupid back then. Seriously, I think Tyson Kidd has a less ridiculous haircut than he did! @_@

Sounded legit to me, the difference being a lack of the commentators during Cena's walk to the ring.

I was there that night in Chicago and nobody knew who Cena was. I was marking like crazy for Kurt Angle tho.

If he really DID debut with that theme, I'd still be marking for him due to it, right now!

I might be in the minority, but this was a big Smackdown moment for me, since it was just a really good way to debut someone. It's rather like how Dolph got to debut by putting the screws to Batista, losing after a valiant effort.

As said, you can blame it on the dubbed theme. There's no brainwashing, just lousy production with blatant piping. Mind you it was on Smackdown anyway, so even the original probably had some piped in cheers.

I remember watching that with my girlfriend and her brother at the time. None of us had a clue who Cena was, but we really liked whole deal (plus Kurt was at the top of his game back then) and were all interested in seeing more. Effective.

I honestly remember getting really into that match thinking that Cena was going to get the win. That was one of the best baby face debuts I've ever seen.

Why did they change the music anyway?
Ok, was some of that footage in the video sped up? Or is there no pace and intensity to Cena's game anymore? Some of what Cena did in that video was lightning fast compared to how he moves in 2009.

I heard somewhere that it would be better if he went back to his Prototype/Big Tim Kingman days but I'm not sure where I heard that.
