Have you sent the quizzes yet because I haven't received one. I sent them to everyone at once, so I may have missed your name. I be sending one probably by the time you read this. If anyone else didn't get their quizzes yet, PM me. Ishmeal Insane and Mean Mr. Zlpempleh can join, too, but I'm cutting off there (for reals this time ).

17 total entries, and an average score of 7pts. The person with the lowest score will be going home.
The winner of this round with a whopping 14 pts (and it would have been higher if I weren't such a nitpicky jerk): Ishmeal Insane
The next highest score was 11pts, and that was shared by two people: "Statman" PKSandman and Muskrat: A Platypus Warrior!!!
The follwing people are also safe this week:
Dynamite Kid, 10 pts The Ravishing One, Mr. Lariat!, 10 pts "Franchise" Ox Baker 9.5 pts Jazzman, 9 pts pegasuswarrior, 7pts RX-78-2, 6 pts Grendel, 5pts TuneinTokyo, 4pts El Hoochadore, 4pts Sharpy Snow, 4 pts Ani, 3pts (but first list in)
And now the bottom three: 'Pool, Mickey & Sylvia and Fritobandito:A Viking, you all have the lowest scores in the competition, but only one of you will go home.
Fritobandito, you have 3pts, that means that this week, you are safe.
'Pool, Mickey & Sylvia, you both have two points a piece. However, the tie breaker in this case is the person who sent their list in first that person is:
Mickey and Sylvia, you are safe. Sorry 'Pool, you are eliminated this round. I must say however, you had some of the more entertaining wrong answers of the round. Unfortunately, its the end of the road for you:
Answers to this round will be posted in a bit. I'll let this sink in first...

I'm just kinda glad I'm not in the bottom 3, even if it was a rather low score.

And now the answers: 1. 80s music: While this artist famously snubbed the “We Are the World” recording session, he did donate a song for the album. The answer is Prince. Possible reasons given for this snub have been everything from his not wanting to sing a duet with Michael Jackson, to legal problems with the record company, to Prince's feelings being hurt because Bob Geldof called him "creepy." In any event, he didn't show up, but did donate the song "4 The Tears In Your Eyes" to the USA for Africa album. 2. 80s music: Who sings the famous “I want my MTV” background vocal in Dire Strait’s “Money for Nothing?”Most people got this one right. The famous falsetto belongs to Sting.
3. Movie music: In the movie Death Proof, what is the name of the song and artist that our heroines are listing to right before they meet their tragic demise? "Hold On" by Dave Dee, Dozy, Mick and Tich. Jungle Julia requests this song right before she meets her untimely end (although she does mispronounce "Mick" as "Mitch"). 4. Movie Music: Who sings the version of "Lesbian Seagull” that appears on the Beavis and Butthead Do America soundtrack? The very much alive Engelbert Humperdinck [/Eddie Izzard]. The song appears in the film as sung by Mr. Van Driessen, but that version is not on the album. 5. Classic rock: When Michelle Phillips was briefly booted from the Mamas and the Papas, who replaced her? Jill Gibson, who coincidentally was dating producer Lou Adler at the time. Ironically, neither Jill nor Michelle are particularly sure whose vocals are actually on their self-titled second album. 6. Classic rock: At the Isle of Wight festival in 1970, who chastised a hostile crowd for “acting like tourists, man”? Joni Mitchell. The story goes that after being heckled and interrupted during her set, she told the crowd that they were acting like tourists who gawk at natives instead of respecting them. The crowd settled down and she was able to finish her set. 7. 90s Music: Name a hit 90s song that sampled “Forget Me Nots” by Patrice Rushen?Everyone who got this right went with the most obvious answer: "Men In Black" by Will Smith. I'm a little disappointed that nobody went with "Fast Love" by George Michael, which was the other one. Here's the original, in case you've never heard it before: www.youtube.com/watch?v=td25kTqvl1w8. 90s Music: Which song was included as a hidden track on Guns N’ Roses 1993 cover album The Spaghetti Incident?, despite the fact that Axl’s bandmates objected and protests would later ensue? "Look at Your Game, Girl" by frustrated songwriter Charles Manson. Yeah, I can't imagine why anyone would protest... 9. . Classical Music: When this ballet debuted in 1913, the audience responded by rioting in the theater. What was the name of the ballet, and who was the composer responsible? "Rite of Spring" by Stravinsky. A recreation of the original ballet can be seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb8njeKBfqw10. Classical Music: Which 20th century composer has written operas based on Richard Nixon and the creator of the atomic bomb? That would be John Adams, composer of Doctor Atomic and Nixon In China. Here's the opening of Nixon in China, for the curious: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Tv3hrZmcEk11. Beatles: What is written on the license plate on the Volkswagon on the cover of Abbey Road (I need the exact plate number)? Here's where I became a nitpicky witch, a lot of you had 28 IF, but the full license plate was LMW 28IF . As seen here: 12. Beatles: The song “Volcano Girls” by Veruca Salt heavily references a Beatles song. Which one? Glass Onion. The Beatles sing: "I told you about the walrus and me-man/ You know that we're as close as can be-man./ Well here's another clue for you all/The walrus was Paul." Veruca Salt sing: "I told you about the seether before/ You know the one that's neither or nor/ Well here's another clue if you please/ The seether's Louise." 13. Here’s the lyric: “a couple weeks later we came back and you and the chair were nowhere to be seen.” "The Point of It All" by Amanda Palmer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AResxnZrY5k
14. Here’s the lyric: “it entertains visiting relatives, it turns a sandwich into a banquet”"Step Right Up" by Tom Waits. If you don't know who he is, you need to find out, NOW!
15. GRAB BAG: Elton John may have had success on Broadway with Aida and The Lion King, but he had one very notable bomb. What series of books was this ill-fated musical based on? The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. If you put Lestat, which was the the title of the show, I gave you credit as well. Quizzes for Round 2 will be sent tomorrow morning (ish).

Oh god damn. I knew Men in Black sampled something because I've heard the original a ton of times on the radio, I just never caught it's name.
The more you know I guess.

Comment:
The Abbey Road answer keeps the "Paul is Dead" motif alive.
As you seen, the plate reads: LMW 28IF.
If I'm not mistaken, the plate stands for "Linda McCartney Weeps, 28 if". At the time of the album's release, he would have been 28.
