I find it funny that this song got to Number 1, because loads of people did what somebody told them.
Me and my cousin tried to start a campaign to get the "Minder" theme to No 1, to absolutely no avail whatsoever.

I'm planning on getting a sheep bleeting to next year number one, seems fitting. Funny how sheep bleating has been a proud part of my cd collection for sixteen years and still loved. I'll bet money in sixteen years very few people will remember the number two song or it's artist....

So....who's up for doing a similar campaign but with a Cannibal Corpse song next year? Hammer Smashed Face for Christmas Number 1?? Has a ring to it, plus the angry types could say "Thats what I wanna do to Cowell's face!!" I'd buy it because its a good song.

More money for Simon Cowell. As a matter of fact, no SO DAMN STOKED!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D I think you'll find the fact is yes. His X-Factor single sold loads of copies and the battle with RATM would have helped sell more. Plus, he has the #1 album in the country (and the world) too.

I find it funny that this song got to Number 1, because loads of people did what somebody told them. It's even funnier because the last line of the song is "f*** you, I won't do what you tell me". Their Christmas gift to the world is irony.

Actually, Joe McTeeth's single has 100K less sold than last year's X-Factor winner. Probably because he has a lot less talent than last years winner. Alexandra has an amazing voice. Joe's is decent. Regardless, the song still sold a load of copies (and it wasn't even in the shops until halfway through the week).

Seriously...f*** him. Simon Cowell, who's very career is built on insulting people...sorry, "telling the truth"...and supporting bland pop music establishments calling these people a "hate mob"...again, f*** him.

I think you can talk all you want about Sony having both songs or the message of the Killing In The Name being ironic but I think when it comes down to it good music won over bad music. And surely thats a good thing?
Of course it does depend on what your definition of good and bad music is. And Joe will probably be number 1 next week anyway so he's not going to lose out.

What REALLY gets me about Joe doing the Climb is that the origional was released THIS FREAKING YEAR!!!!!!
they should have a rule against releasing a cover version so soon after the origional, theres no excuse for it at all
