Why the hell did they air this? I know it's supossed to be some kind of rallying point but it just seemed more like Dixie railing on everyone with the "My way or the highway" speech. I'm surprised they didn't have someone pull a Raven and just get up and walk out. But whatever. Hogan will come in and probably get all kinds of concessions and render this whole speech mkeaningless anyway.

Owners meeting with their employees = Good
Dixie Carter on TV = Good
Airing a meeting with the owner breaking kayfabe and telling people not to question their decision = bad

The big question I have is how much does Dixie Carter really know about wrestling?

The big question I have is how much does Dixie Carter really know about wrestling? Maybe not, but maybe that's a good thing. Maybe since she's not "a worker", she's not going to deal with all of the wheeling and dealing and the hustle of "the business" from "the boys". Maybe that's what this speech was. She's not going to put up with any of the wrestling business bullshit, not from Hogan, not from anybody..... I hope.

Both Captain Kathryn Janeway and Michael Scott would be proud of her management style.

I feel that this could end up like Vince's ruthless aggression speech from a few years back. I know that was scripted, but it did seem to spice up the product. this could be the boot in the keister that TNA needs to really make it.

I'd argue it was more "my house my rules" at least for part of it. I just wanted people to compare TNA to Lost. They even have their own Desmond now Yeah but theirs doesn't have a OHKO Clothesline attack.

Just seems to me like she's saying "Jarrett's gone, deal with it."
I really don't think it helps the product any, so I don't think it has business being on TV.

It's cool that she adressed everybody, but i don't think it was the best way to start off the show, or even be on the show at all. agreed. Also, for the people who watch tna who believe in kayfabe, like kids, it wouldn't make sense having heels and faces sitting together, like EY and Lashley

looks like all she did was give the wrestlers an easy out from the company, and there have been a number of reports over the years of wrestlers asking for their release and being denied. if a wrestler wants to leave now all they have to do is do an interview with some wrestling news site, or go on MySpace or something like that and run down the company and creative. then one of two things will happen: A) they'll be released and thus get what they want, or B) they won't get released and Dixie's credibility goes right out the window.
to give that speech is fine, but to release it to the public is stupid

With rumors of people asking ofr their release, all I remember is this scenario:
Low Ki/Senshi: I want my release since you guys are hardly using me anyway.
TNA: Alright, you've got it. But we're going to book you on the next 8 weeks of Impacts before you go.
Low Ki/Senshi: But....the reason I wanted to leave was because you weren't using me....now I am leaving and you're going to use me?

As far as Carter's town hall meeting goes - I hope I'm not the only Total Nonstop Action fan wondering where the action was that whole time.

I've never been a fan of these "Oh, we're gonna hit a mountain of gold in two seconds!" schemes like Hogan/TNA appears to be, so I'm biased. But this "my way or the highway" stuff tends to lead to disaster.

When I saw this yesterday, I didn't realize it was a legit meeting. That's actually a little starrtling to me. Right now, I am of the opinion that TNA is better right now than it has ever been in the 4 years I have followed them. They finally seem to have found a great balance to the many elements on the show. With the MEM and Sting no longer the focus, virtually all of their top guys right now are TNA guys (barring Hogan, of course).
When Dixie says "my way or the highway", she is risking pushing some of TNA's amazing roster out the door. They have a great roster of talent right now, and she should be doing what she can to secure them. If someone doesn't agree with her, she should be explaining her decision and trying to covince that wrestler why she felt it was the best decision. By saying "My decisions are the best and if you don't think so, then leave", all she is doing is risking having people actually leave, which could be bad. That sort of mentality isn't going to endear her detractors to her.

I spy Russo and Ferrara!
And Simon Diamond, Scott D'Amore, and D'Lo Brown. It's like they're telling us internet people exactly who the agents/writers are. Also I like Russo's old man glasses.
