From PWInsider:
The talent meeting that aired during the opening of TNA Impact was legit. TNA filmed TNA President Dixie Carter addressing the wrestlers and inserted it into the show, I am assuming, as a way to build towards Hulk Hogan's debut. The speech and the comments made by Carter were her own and not something scripted for her by the creative team. It was 100% a legitimate speech from the owner of the company to her employees and not something put together as a work specifically for company storylines.
Carter was addressing the fact that the company has made a number of changes in recent weeks, which has led to some frustration on the talent side when it comes to how some are being used creatively. There have been some blow-ups, so I believe this was Carter's way of stomping out the fire.

Who was that sitting next to EY? Also, since they were taping that, they should have let the KOs put on their makeup.

Pretty sure it's Slick Johnson next to EY.

So the comments that were more or less "ride or die" from Dixie were legit, huh? I'm sorry, but the whole "with me absolutely or get out" thing will definitely alienate people.

It's cool that she adressed everybody, but i don't think it was the best way to start off the show, or even be on the show at all.

My boss delivered similar sentiments earlier this year.
It served as a good rallying cry for a while, but, as will happen, everything settled back into the status quo a couple months later.

To air something like this on television is unprofessional and will likely backfire. Expect an exodus to McMahonLand soon, much like a previous exodus from WCW circa 2000.

Dixie Carter: Live together, die alone

I dunno what to think about it actually. She came off a little....well, kinda stupid with that "you're either with me totally, or you can find a new place to work" attitude. I think the ability to have some kind of dialouge with your boss would be a major plus, especially in a wrestling company run by someone that's not necesarilly a wrestling person.

Dixie Carter: Live together, die alone I'd argue it was more "my house my rules" at least for part of it. EDIT: I know I"m being negative on the segment, but it reminded me a lot of the frequent meetings our area manager will have with us about twice a year. THe man hasn't worked a post in at least ten years, but will constantly remind us that we're beholden to him for our livlihood, and tell us that if we don't do exactly what he wants without question, we can "update our resumes" and find somewhere else to work. In the meetings I've been in, no one has ever left feeling anything besides anger or frustration, and given I got the same vibe from Dixie as I did from my boss (the references to what she's put on the line, and how it affects her and how they need to support her).

I doubt it, since it's not like she called anyone out for it, and was more about how she needed to put some worries over Hogan to rest.

She didn't put any specific worries to rest, she just said "if you disagree with me, fine, there's the door". That's not good leadership of any kind.

You have the talk of how much she invested before that, and how you hurt other people by losing the faith, so to speak. It's basically saying that now isn't the time to cast doubts on people, after everything's that going on, since it can make things go bad, and there needs to be the unity to move forward.

Since this is going to be aired on TV, is this the TNA equivalent to McMahon "firing" us fans back in 2007 or whenever it was?
I better find that door, since I disagree with her on:
- suspending a veteran for raising a legit concern over how a potentially serious injury was handled
- throwing money at a man who, despite his celebrated history, has more "failed reality show" name value over "wrestling" name value in this current day and age.
- failing to take care of a visa issue for one of their top female stars, and instead replaces her with an undeserving, untalented piece of dreck.

Man, that came off as depressing more than anything to me. The wrestlers looked bored, Dixie came off as a douchebag, and for some reason it reminded me of WCW in 2000 when they vacated all the belts and tried to ''reboot' Nitro. Like they're entering a new era, but one not very much better than the old one.

The thing is, things don't work that way. You need to have that dialogue in order to make sure you're making the right choice. You can't just shut out the opposing opinions without hearing them, or you'll just doom yourself. If Carter's looking for 100% support from the whole roster, she's either optimistic to the point of stupidity, or she just doesn't know how a give and take business like wrestling works.

I don't really know how I feel about it, at my work were encouraged to question higher-ups decisions, processes etc and I think it works well. To say 'I can't have people even questioning my decisions' well, I don't know why, that just rubs me the wrong way and I imagine it does a fair chunk of the wrestlers as well.
I also found it incredibly cringeworthy.
