I thought the thread title said "Dixie Carter Undresses" I'll see myself out. This thread would already have hit 30+ pages if that were so.

I'm not gonna go too deep into this. Others can do it better than me. I'll just say that virtually everyone looked bored to tears and Dixie came across like a scolding teacher. I'd write it off as badly scripted but if those were indeed Dixie's words legit, that's far from 'rallying the troops' and more like 'SHUTCHERMOUTH I'M THE BOSS'. There was nothing there to really encourage or rev up those watching. On one end of the scale you have Paul Heyman's famed 'Kool Aid' ECW rallying speeches. On the other end, now we have Dixie. Dixie Carter IS Darth Vader, because only Sith deal in absolutes. You were already awesome due to your Clown Angle sig, now you're awesome due to this line too.

I'm a pretty big TNA mark, in general, but, if that really was a 100% legit, no kayfabe shoot meeting- I may have to lay off watching wrestling, for awhile. I don't watch WWE mostly because it comes across as uninterested in what I, as a fan, might really want (constantly cramming the same matches down my throat, not letting Talent use their talents, insulting my intelligence every chance possible, guest hosts with no business in the WWE, etc etc) . That's exactly how it comes across to have Dixie Carter make that speech on my TV- I honestly thought it was a heel turn, to set up Hulk Hogan as some kind of NWO "saviour" by having him oppose her. But, if that was legit? How, exactly, is that better than Jarrett running the show as some kind of vanity project, where he's always "king of the mountain"? How, exactly, is that anything but a defensive posture, taken as a last refuge by someone in over their head? I sincerely hope that it was at least a bit of a worked shoot, because otherwise this will end up WORSE than WCW.

Well that was painful to watch.....
now THIS is how you do a 'rallying the troops' promo (language warning).

It seemed rather pointless to me, with neither a negative nor positive impact on the current on-air product.

To be honest, I didn't watch the speech. I skipped through it taking looks at the wrestlers in the crowd trying to see who was there and who wasn't. Couldn't see Kong, Daffney, Abyss, Dr. Stevie or Foley.

Such a bad promo nobody bought the "im the boss and i take no s*** " angle it was so unconvincing i rolled my eyes so many times during that segement i was like the freakin undertaker i'm glad im not the only one who thinks this on here.
And you could tell all the talent had elevator music going through their head when she was blabbing on.

You know everyone's body language is a bit different and I have never really observed AJ under normal circumstances so maybe he is just a nervous defensive fellow also since this is wrestling the whole thing may be a work but AJ's body language was VERY telling. I would not be surprised at all now if those NEWZ rumors about his dissatisfaction were true.

Dixie's words from the heart, unfortunately. and it isn't even to set up any angles.

Didn't like it, didnt make me feel too good about things. Its already been said, but the "if you question the company youre questioning me and i cant have that" thing is just really ignorant in a way.. sigh.

I agree with the majority here.
It doesn't work when the bosses do it at my job can't see how it does here.

I'll start by saying it didn't belong on air, however...
I love it! People have been shouting for Dixie to take control for the past few years. Well, now you've got it.
I must have heard a different speech than some of you. I didn't hear "I'm making all the decisions and you must agree 100% or get out!" I heard "I need you to be behind the decisions and direction of this company 100% and if you can't do that, you need to move on." These are 2 different ideas. Many times in the past, due to my tendency to make my thoughts known, I've approached my boss and stated my concerns or criticisms or why I didn't like an idea. Those were listened too and even addressed, however I was expected to walk out of there and support the company 100% in its direction regardless of what I personally thought about it. If I couldn't, or wouldn't, do that, it was time to move on.
This speech was probably to address lots of things, not only Hogan, but Jarrett and maybe even the Nash situation. I'd guess its also to halt useless criticisms such as "this sucks" or "this is bad." I can't image Dixie or other TNA brass being completely closed to all ideas to help the promotion in the direction she wants to take it (if she is, then that's a big problem and will be their downfall), but if all a person presents is negativity, it solves nothing.

I dunno what to think about it actually. She came off a little....well, kinda stupid with that "you're either with me totally, or you can find a new place to work" attitude. I think the ability to have some kind of dialouge with your boss would be a major plus, especially in a wrestling company run by someone that's not necesarilly a wrestling person. Agree 100% If the employees let the boss make any stupid decision, then the company will probably fail. If I were the president of TNA, I would encourage people to question my decisions. I usually take what wrestlers/personalities say with a grain of salt, but I believe Jim Cornette when he said that he was fired for disagreeing with a decision made by TNA.
