Someone should have started a boring chant. Seriously. That would have ruled.

I like TNA, but they aren't ready to swing for the fences yet. Heyman had it right. He had pasion and was believable. Dixie... not so much. I'm sorry, but a woman can't run a wrestling company. That last line is a ridiculous and sexist line of thought.

Dixie Carter: Live together, die alone I'd argue it was more "my house my rules" at least for part of it. EDIT: I know I"m being negative on the segment, but it reminded me a lot of the frequent meetings our area manager will have with us about twice a year. THe man hasn't worked a post in at least ten years, but will constantly remind us that we're beholden to him for our livlihood, and tell us that if we don't do exactly what he wants without question, we can "update our resumes" and find somewhere else to work. In the meetings I've been in, no one has ever left feeling anything besides anger or frustration, and given I got the same vibe from Dixie as I did from my boss (the references to what she's put on the line, and how it affects her and how they need to support her). Took the words exactly out of my mouth. Giving all your employees the "Do what I say without question where your possible disapproval is not welcome" speech is not a moral booster in any way whatsoever. If anything it seems to be a cheap ploy for management to satisfy their own anxieties of inadequacy in their roles rather than the anxieties of the talent.

Lol yes. One of the midcarders should disagreed during the speech and been like I disagree and yada yada yada and Dixie is like No were not doing that and he's like but seriously.. and rants more and Dixie then says I have no idea what your talking about and the midcarder is like DID I STUTTER? why would Matt Morgan speak up like that? Who was that sitting next to EY? Pretty sure it's Slick Johnson next to EY. Shhhh.....Lashley's sleeping. It's things like this that makes me love this forum and (most) of the people in it. As for the video, everyone seriously looked bored. I would have loved if they were to act like a bunch of high school students and completely ignore Dixie while throwing paper airplanes, talking loudly, listening to music, etc. ;D

The last company to take the line in the sand approach to their roster lost 4 of their best workers to the WWF and ending up folding shortly after. I'm just sayin.

Knowing now that it was legit....I feel it was an even worse idea than I already thought it was.
I understand you want to assert what little power you have an all but....that is NOT the right way to go about doing it.

Personally I'd like them to air the footage of Dixie Telling Hulk Hogan this more than the rest of the roster.

Ok, now that we've cleaned up that. Everyone can carry on. Nothing wrong was done by anyone here. Just some good debate/chat but it's better to wipe clean something else that started it and feel better about ourselves.

Dixie Carter is being portrayed as a much stronger authority figure than Cornette, Foley, even Jarrett. I think TNA is trying to get across the point that she's the big boss, the Superintendant Chalmers to their Principal Skinner.

Exactly. One of TNA's big problems is that it has no identifiable face attached to its brand. That's what Vince provides for WWE; Dixie's "my way or the highway" speech is setting her up for a similar role with TNA.
And I don't think she was saying that she won't listen to the talent -- it was more of a don't sink the boat before we leave the dock kind of thing.
Ironic, though, that she went to "some people here are trying to tell me how to run a wresting company." Well, yeah . . . guys who have 10 times your experience in the business might be worth listening to.
"Swing for the fences" was an obvious reference to Hogan. That didn't come over so good either -- it's indirectly telling the talent that the company can't hit any home runs with what they have now, not exactly a good motivational message.
Don't think the wrestlers were bored, to me it seemed more like concern over what kind of future they will have with the company under the new regime (and whether the money/TV time going to Hogan/Bischoff will force Dixie to downsize the roster, or go tight on what she pays everybody else).

If you've ever seen any group of people forced to file into a room and listen to someone talk, they always look like that. Those guys weren't bored, or at least not all of them, they were just listening.
I do think the speech's intent was good, but boy was it worded wrong.

I really don't mind her saying "This is NOT the time to rock the boat and stage a mutiny. I've put a lot into this company and I need your support right now. If you're just going to make waves and be disruptive, you're not helping things", honestly. Last time a company let the inmates run the asylum, it led to the freaking fingerpoke of doom.

Comparing the Heyman and Dixie speeches is remeniscent of Don Revie and Nigel Clough at Leeds United to me.

People will spin a negative out of just about anything. Sometimes, rallying cries work. But this one probably won't. It was a really badly worded message, delivered in a decidedly awkward fashion, to a clearly disinterested audience. If you'll notice while watching the video, there's no nods of agreement or even comprehension, just blank stares and a few guys even nodding off. That doesn't look good for anyone involved. See? You just proved what I said. This is one of the things I hate about the IWC. It's nearly comical, especially since the TNA forum is dominated by cynicism and hypocrisy.

Dixie reminds me a whole lot of Stephanie. I think its clear that shes a permanent tv fixture now, and it looks kinda like groundwork towards her being a heel boss.

I really think they are gonna lose a lot of talent in the coming months.
They haven't been on solid ground despite the influx of huge names, now their owner is bringing in two men who had a big hand in turning one of the biggest organizations in the history of the sport to the punch line of a joke. Add to that, this "motivational speech" and TNA being a footnote in history isn't much of a stretch.
The boss of a wrestling company needs to know the business, plain and simple.

The thing I noticed strange was Scott D'Amore barely looked up from the ground. And when he did his eyes were looking towards the exit.
