With there being threads for the current generation systems, I thought this would be a great thread to talk about classic Pre-Wii, PS3, 360 consoles, if there's anything you're currently playing, if you've recently beaten any games, and if you've recently purchased any new games for any of your consoles.
A couple weeks ago, I finally beat Ninja Gaiden 1 on the NES. The game is a pain, but it is beatable. That's more than I can say for the headache that is Battletoads. A game that I can't even get past stage 4 in.
Right now, I'm planning on my 3rd playthrough of Earthbound on the SNES, followed by perhaps running through Super Mario RPG shortly after.
And as of yesterday, I finally got my hands on a red cart version of Maximum Carnage for the SNES (I have it for Genesis as well). The game is a pain in the ass at times, but it has a solid soundtrack, and is a fun beat-em-up.

Getting there. I'm just about at 80. Genesis wise, I'm nearing 100. And NES, haven't counted lately, but I have to be at 130.

I'm at 45 NES, 54 SNES, 11 Genesis My personal favorite is Super Castlevania IV. To me its the perfect Castlevania ever made (even better than SotN). I'm hoping the new Castlevania can recapture some of the magic (and soundtrack) from those games.

I recently found a copy of River City Ransom, a game I literally haven't played since around the time it came out. I rented it once or twice and that was it. But I never forgot about it. It was way ahead of it's time and is still a lot of fun to play.

I really need to set up a spreadsheet or something to keep tabs on my collections. My NES has gotta be at least two dozen or so, my SNES at least that and my Genesis collection closing in on 100. My 64 collection is pretty weak and my XBox collection has dwindled as I've handed off some games to my bro.

I'm just started playing Warioland 4 on my gameboy micro (which is an awesome console), seems pretty good so far, I've always thought poor Wario's games are underrated. I've also bought the Metal Gear game for the GBC for £7.50 but I haven't played much of it yet. Do any of you with the larger collections have pictures of them? I've grown worryingly fond of looking at other peoples game collections. As everyone else is I may as well post the NES games I own. {Spoiler} 1 Adventure Island 2 2 Asterix 3 Batman 4 Bart Vs the Space Mutants 5 Battletoads 6 Darkwing Duck 7 Defender of the crown 8 Double Dragon 2 9 Dragon Ninja 10 Goal 11 Jurassic Park 12 Marble Madness 13 Micro Machines 14 Monsters in my pocket 15 Off Road 16 Robocop 17 Shadowgate 18 Star Wars 19 Super Mario Bros/duck hunt 20 Super Mario Bros 3 21 Terminator 22 Tetris 23 TMNT 24 Track and Field 25 World Cup 26 Wrestlemania 27 Zelda 2

I'd gladly take a picture of my collection if it weren't still all in boxes save for a handful of boxed games I found. (I gotta hang shelves). Oh and oddly enough, I found Wall Street Kid in a box. I do not remember buying it, which is weird, as I'm pretty sure I would considering I bought it years ago for a friend. It must've been one of those days I woke up around eight p.m. and went yardsaling until past noon or so. Oh and most of my boxed games seem to have the boxes for a reason... Fester's Quest, Werewolf, Burai Fighter, Werewolf and Days of Thunder.

I was playing Ninja Gaiden the other day, it still annoys me. Where does it annoy you the most? I also picked up some windex and cotton swabs and began cleaning my SNES carts. most work fine, while some need a but of maintenance.

Duck Hunt Excitebike Pro Wrestling Punch-Out! Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 River City Ransom
John Madden Football John Madden Football '93 Madden NFL '94 Madden NFL '96 Madden NFL '97 NBA Jam Tournament Edition Street Fighter II Turbo Super Empire Strikes Back Super Mario Kart Super Mario World Tecmo Super Bowl
I know it's not very big, but I just started collecting again. If I still had all the games I used to it would be quite large. Why did I have to sell them?
Anyways, I played Duck Hunt for the first time in a long time last night. Still just as fun. I'm surprised no one has made a hacked version of the game where you can shoot the dog.

I just got a new copy of Final Fantasy II (never been opened) for the SNES, I'm very happy. It's been a long, long time since I played the game. I just got Yang (I think that was his name) and saved and quit for the time being.

Yesterday, started my regular cleaning of my SNES cartridges. While most work fine, and boot up immediately, some don't. So, instead of blowing on them, I give their dirty chips a scrub with some windex and cotton swabs. Gets a lot of the dirt off, and they work great afterwords.

All of my SNES carts were tested and cleaned today.
Most notable ones that gave me troubles were:
Mystic Quest (Wouldn't boot up. Cleaned, and works fine) Lufia II (Kept looping the Natusme/Copyright screens, until it was scrubbed) Toy Story (Wouldn't boot up. cleaned it. Still wouldn't boot up. Cleaned it some more, finally worked) Sim City (Screen flashed several different colors. Cleaned once, works fine) Donkey Kong Country 3 (Blank screen. Cleaned. Works fine, no data lost) And a couple others I can't remember at this moment.
I'm also trying to find AV Cables for a model 1 Sega Genesis. Is there any place I can look to find them?
