I remember the year when Mr perfect and Goldust both came back i marked like a school girl. Specially since perfect was almost in it to the end of it. I loved that Perfect was one of the final four in the Rumble, along with Austin, Angle, and HHH. I had always wondered why he was one of the final four. I also thought that a Perfect/Austin feud would have been great, seeing as how Perfect eliminated him, not necessarily all the way to WrestleMania, but maybe until No Way Out.

Surprise entrants and the countdown.

I really like when an entrant finds his rival in the ring already and begin pummeling him like a madman. Even better if they're alone in the ring. Piper finding a weak and battered Flair at RR92 is one of my favourite Rumble moments ever.
It's also funny when two friends/partners go at it (Ax v Smash), but with all the current random turning and continuity black holes, it doesn't happen anymore. Or it happens all the time, it depends...

2004, when Nunzio simply didn't enter the ring and hid instead (until Cena 10 minutes later became the first to realize what was going on)
When Hurricane held up both Austin and HHH for a double chokeslam.
What I very much dislike is when tag team partners turn on each other, because it's "every man for himself". Wouldn't it make more sense to team up until you're hopefully the only two left in the ring (even if there are still wrestlers who haven't entered the ring yet) and then see which one is tougher?

^Kinda like that, the fact that number 30 has never won the Rumble...

Surprise entrants for me, as long as they ARE a surprise or quick eliminations (Warlord, Papa Shango, Bushwhackers)
My personal favourite moment was Batista and Cena bollocksing up the end of the Rumble having McMahon leg it to the ring only to knacker his knees in the process
Vince sat on his ass yelling at everyone had me in stitches, then again, I was drunk

I forgot about the Maven, Undertaker elimination. That was awesome. Totally unexpected with the soon to follow (expected) beat down all over the arena. Even funnier, in my opinion, the next year, Taker had just eliminated someone and while he was talking to them, Maven dropkicked him. Taker didn't go over this time, but Maven started celebrating anyway, shouting "Two in a row!" Cue slow turn, utter destruction, and Maven elimination. Agreed that was hilarious, especially as you can see Kane in the corner laughing and joining in with the audiences reaction to it. I thought the 1991 rumble had a unique idea of having no one come out for number 19, leaving Monsoon and Piper confused to who it could be that said (Monsoon: 'No Thank You') It ended up being Randy Savage because the Warrior chased him out of the building, but I just loved the mystery of it. Bob Backlund in the 2000 Rumble was amusing. I really would like an unexpected midcard winner to win it one year, that would be awesome like Matt Hardy, Carlito, CM Punk William Regal or Shelton Benjamin. Was Yokozuna the last heel to win the rumble? (I'm not counting Vince as he didn't go on to be number one contender at wrestlemania)

He was just very over during this time.

Former tag team partners teaming up. See Haas and Benjamin. 2004(?)
I also always love when two guys are about to double team someone and one of them turns and just throws the other guy out of the ring. See Undertaker and Kane 2003.

My all time favorite Royal Rumble moment comes from the '93 Rumble, when Earthquake and Yokozuna faced off in the middle of the ring. It was an awesome "battle of the big men" moment, capped off by a pretty cool german suplex to send Tenta over the top rope.

How dare I forget, Ric Flairs moment of glory. I am ashamed. That is infact my favorite ALL TIME, Royal Rumble moment. *He beat 29 other Superstars to win what should have been given to him on a silver platter in the first place*. That was damn good Royal Rumble, I dont think any Rumble previous or since then has more World Champions (past/present) in it, I could be wrong but its just a quick observation.

If you think about it, Maven won the Rumble where he eliminated the Undertaker because Maven was never officially eliminated. He was only "physically eliminated" by Taker.
I never understood the "They can't continue, so better luck next year!"
Where was that in the rules?
Can you "Quit" the Rumble? Confusing stuff.
Also, I can't wait until after this years Rumble, because I sense a 20 Year Anniversery DVD Collection with all the matchs and perhaps a documentary.
I want. I want. I want!

i stumbled a cross this thread.... wow! A Royal Rumble 20 year edition DVD with all 20 or the first 19 Royal Rumbles would truly kick ass.... but it'd have to be the whole Rumble....

Eh, rules in the Rumble are slack at best. Randy Savage dove out of the ring onto an already eliminated Jake Roberts in 1992 to continue assaulting him, and the announcers first claimed he was eliminated, but then "were told" that a participant cannot eliminate himself from the match, he must be thrown over the top rope (Even though Big Bossman eliminated himself earlier in the night) Then we go to 1997 when both Ahmed Johnson and Mil Mascaras eliminate themselves and nothing is said. neat.

I like the one moment where Jerry Lawler was doing commentary, then the countdown was done and his music started playing and he started talking about what he was going to do, and as soon as he hit the ring he got eliminated. Then he got back on the headset and continued doing commentary. Pure hilarity!

My thread! It's back! Hooray!
Um...uh...the best part of the Lawler thing was when he went back to the announcer table and JR asked "Did you know you were just in the Royal Rumble." and Jerry ignored him.

My personal favourite on the surprise entrants stakes was the Big Show in 2001 when he came in and choke slammed everyone - for me the best Rumble ever. Wasn't that the one where they went to an advert break as soon as his music hit?
