I'm pretty sure he'd say it to his face. The man slapped Santino, so just because someone is bigger doesn't mean he won't go off on them. Not saying Batista wouldn't kill him (although he'd get injured in the process), just saying that holding back on anyone is not Cornette's strong suit.

I mean, for the crap he talks, it is as though he worked hundreds of matches, etc. He was a manager, sure he took bumps occasionally, but he was a manager none the less. Managers add to the match and storyline, but in the end the show goes on without them.

I mean, he talks about people like he is on Hogan's level of fame and status in wrestling. He is smart, and a good asset to have, but he is obviously not what he thinks he is.

Fun fact: Both Vince Mcmahon and Dixie Carter ditched him for Vince Russo. I bet that eats him alive, lol.

Foley and Cabana are both funny guys, but Cornette is the one who should be doing stand up. He often speaks of his idol worship for George Carlin (I'd wager he's a big Bill Hicks fan too, or if not he should be). Strictly within the context of wrestling - limited as that is -, he's not very far removed from guys like Lewis Black, Larry David, or Bill Maher, and that's just in conversation. The thought and energy he puts into a promo is obvious, imagine inflicting only 5 minutes of his trademark manic rampages on the crowd at a comedy club.

He studied the business for years, learning from Jerry Jarrett and Bill Watts. He understands what goes into a match without having to be the one wrestling. That's why Danny Davis did the actual training in OVW while Cornette booked and taught about psychology.

We're never going to agree on this, which is fine, but I just can't dismiss his mind for the business because he has serious anger issues.

As far as being a "god", everyone thinks they are gods at something. You don't get far by telling people you suck or are mediocre.

I have a lot of respect for Cornette (which is obvious) but know that his personality tends to turn people off. He and Russo are kind two sides of the same coin...both have had good ideas, but Russo would be the one to not say something to a wrestler's face (far as I know) not Cornette. And that's an asset and a detriment for both men.

I bet Cornette got in his face alot when Batista was in OVW. That's just the way he is, and probably a big part of the reason big Dave hates him.

That's why Corny always gets dumped and Russo usually winds up having a job, Corny's just a hotheaded jerk.

Not justifying it, but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Russo and Cornette are from two totally different times (even though it was just a decade apart). Cornette started out when yelling and slapping wasn't uncommon backstage. I've read stories of Watts and how he handled some of his wrestlers and it's more extreme than Cornette ever could be. Russo never had to deal with that...maybe Vince yelling at him, but never real violence.

That's the one thing about Cornette I'm not fond of...his mind for the business is timeless, but he hasn't gotten out of the early 80's territories as far as backstage behavior is concerned.

There is a reason why the big companies dont like Cornette and to be honest, it is because Cornette is not a corporate guy. He is not a guy who is good at kissing ass (which the current guys at the top are very good at). He is not a Yes men and like it or not, both Vince McMahon and Dixie Carter have such huge egos that they need yes men.

Cornette is basically going to tell you the god's honest truth about things and he is not going to pull his punches. He also suffers from what many genius' of pro wrestling suffer and that is they are extremely stubborn.

Now I believe Cornette because I have seen some of the tapes and they did try to push Leviathan to the freakin moon. Now the only thing I dont believe is that Batista was going to be fired because i remember them very much always pushing the guy as soon as he was splitting from Rev. D-Von.

I certainly see how Cornette is a polarizing figure. He does seem to badmouth everyone he's asked about and thinks the only good ideas are ones he thought of. On the other hand, I can't help but respect someone who's that passionate about what he does. As to the whole he wouldn't say that to Batista's face argument, I think he would. Cornette is a lot of things, but non-confrontational isn't one of them.

First off, I respect the 'old school' of wrestling. The guy who trained us made it a point that, whether we liked it or not, we were gonna learn everything about the business, including the things espoused by people like Cornette.

Without going into specifics, a lot of old school stuff is still very relevant today, but there is a lot of things that have passed it by that must be in the show as well.

The best example off the top of my head is the one of Bill Watts in WCW. You don't sound like someone who needs a history lesson on this, so I wont waste my typing time, lol.

When Cornette says stuff like, "I want my wrestling back" and downgrades all of the advances made since his referenced time period, I cringe. It did not work in 1992, and it won't work in 2010.

There will always be fundamentals, and I would like to see them displayed more often. At the same time, I want to see storylines advancing and stuff for adults, like what ECW was able to do. Does that make sense?

I don't want a 2 hour soap opera or variety hour, but I do not want to travel back in time to 1980 either.
