I actually agree with him, if for no other reason than the first part of it. Why not find something you DO like, curmudgeons of the world? Anyway, throw me in with the "more Paul Rudd please" camp. Hopefully if he is a guest for Conan for TBS, he could bring back the Mac and Me bit, which I never tire of. Plus, if you don't like it, don't see it. Why take enjoyment from others because you don't like something. If me not liking something takes away from your enjoyment of it, that really seems like your problem. Geez, nobody's making you read the thread (which is only one of many "Complain about stuff you don't like on the internet rant threads that get posted all the time), and I'm certainly not taking offense that other people DO like Steve Carell movies.

Thanks for saying this about me with no basis in fact what so ever, real classy. And just because something happens all the time, it doesn't make it right or mean I have to be ok with it. Also, I don't have to read your thread, but being a WC member who frequents this part of the forum, I did have to see it exists, with your entire opinion right in the title.

Thanks for saying this about me with no basis in fact what so ever, real classy. I never said that your enjoyment was lessened or that you take offense, though both seem strongly indicated by your posts. Clearly, this is a moral issue and you are indignant. Oh, the pity! This must be the first time you've ever unwillingly become aware that some people have opinions that differ from your own?

This must be the first time you've ever unwillingly become aware that some people have opinions that differ from your own? Ok, I was making an suggestion. No indignation. And I really don't care what you feel about it. I made a statement, you read in to it what you wanted, that is fine.

And I really don't care what you feel about it. I kind of doubt this is true, given that you expressed displeasure that you don't have the privilege of pre-screening all threads posted in the forum so that your eyes are not sullied by any offensive titles. Oh, I get it, you were just sticking up for all the OTHER people on the forum who may have Steve Carell movies ruined for them by the knowledge that some random guy on the internet doesn't like them, but personally you couldn't care less. I apologize for misinterpreting.

I actually think Steve Carell is funny. I don't watch The Office, but I like some of the movies he starred in such as 40 Year Old Virgin, Little Miss Sunshine, & Dan in Real Life. I still want to see Date Night, and also his new movie coming out Dinner for Schmucks.

Steve Carell is ok. Doesn't make me roll over in laughter. Will Ferrell use to be my guy but he is really losing it. Semi-Pro was...just beyond bad. That movie was straight up trash.
Vince Vaughn plays the same guy in every single film, except for the Cell and Psycho and those should never even be mentioned. I still think Vaughn is one of the funniest guys in the business. No matter what movie or role, the guy is hilarious.

So the Adam Sandler argument? 'Reign over me' says hello I was being sarcastic. As that all I hear about Adam Sandler, but know better as I'm a big fan of him.

Carrell is okay, but good lord he is getting overexposed lately. It's like he has a new movie a month these days.

Steve Carell's performance in Little Miss Sunshine, much like all of the performances in that film, is delightfully understated, warm and convincing. The guy is far from a one-trick-pony, he just never gets a chance to prove it.

Dan in Real Life is one of those movies I could watch over and over. He was great in Little Miss Sunshine and several other movies, too. The Office is amazing as well. He is one of my favorite actors. I also agree with what was said earlier....I wish we could see as much energy put into threads for things people do like instead of negative things. I for one have yet to see a thread where someone says, "Oh wow..your point is better than mine..I will now take your point of view."

*Secretary walks into office* Secretary: Mr. Weinstein, I have something urgent to tell you! Harvey: Yes, yes, what is it? Secretary: There's some guy, he's on the internet, he... uh... he... Harvey: Yes? Secretary: He's made a demand which I think we should look at... Harvey: Oh no... Secretary: He doesn't want us to cast Steve Carell in any more of our films. *Secretary cries and runs out of the office* *Mr. Weinstein calls up somebody on his cell phone* Harvey: Ah, yes, Bob? It's Harvey. Please stop all production on films including Steve Carell. Bob: (V.O.) What? Why? Harvey: Somebody on the internet thinks we should stop casting him. Bob: But his movies are making us a boatload of money. Harvey: I know, Bob, but- Bob: No, literally, a boatload. I'm on a boat, made up of $100 bills, and duct tape. Harvey: Yes, Bob, I know. But you know how these people are online, they're hard to please. So if you could just pass the word around to not cast Steve in anymore movies, it'd save me a lot of time. Bob: Well, you're the boss. Harvey: Yes, yes I am. Bob: So... uh.... who should we cast in his place? Harvey: Hmm.... good question. Lets shoehorn Michael Cera, Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, or Adam Sandler into all of his roles, I'm sure people will never get tired of them. They're box office gold. Bob: I like the way you think! *The end* BTW, to the OP, I mean no harm or anything. I just really felt like typing this scene out as it played in my head. I think it's cool to not enjoy somebody's work, and it's cool to express this. No hard feelings.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I personally am looking forward to another Paul Rudd movie... Steve Carell is icing on the cake. Totally straight and all, but I simply look forward to another Paul Rudd movie because he's a beautiful f***ing man. The only laugh Will Ferrell gets out of me these days is when I see the box office returns of his movies. What makes me laugh more is what they are willing to pay him. Didn't Will Ferrell top one of those recent "Most Overpaid Stars in Hollywood" lists? The list charted what they're paid against what they bring in, and there were a ton of big stars on the list like Cameron Diaz and Nicole Kidman, if I recall. And at the time, I remember being surprised that Will was on there. But this was around the time of Semi-Pro or Step Brothers (one of the two), and after then, it all made sense to me. [/quote] Nah, it was actually after Land of the Lost bombed. www.forbes.com/2009/11/17/hollywoods-most-overpaid-stars-business-entertainment-overpaid-stars.html

Carrell is okay, but good lord he is getting overexposed lately. It's like he has a new movie a month these days. His last movie came out in April, in Despicable Me hes only doing the voice, and Dinner For Schmucks comes out in July. Before Date Night, he was in Get Smart....two years ago. Get Smart 2 is the only other thing he has in the works. How is he over exposed?
