If anybody is having trouble with the Musicals, drop me a PM and I'll help point you in the right sort of direction. It won't be a sure path to a good score, but if people just don't know musicals, I'll help them find a song for the music genre they want to get.

.... *DEADLOCK*With 2 Votes a piece, for each contestant, the judges have Failed to reach a Majority Decision. As a result we now enter, for the first time in The X Factor Competition: DEADLOCK. It works a little something like this: We go to the actual total points for each contestants, scores of the past round. Here are each of the contestant's song choices of the game: THE Baldy Kendrick {Spoiler}---- Bloc Party - "Helicopter" Frankie J - "More Than Words" Marie Laforet - "Marie Douceur/Marie Colere" Metallica - "No Leaf Clover" Brother Ali - "Take Me Home" Shawn Colvin - "I Don't Want To Live on the Moon" Kanye West - "Good Morning" Fiona Apple – “Criminal” Nsync – “Pop” Shivaree – “Goodnight Moon” Kelly Clarkson - "Miss Independent" Kelly Clarkson - "My Life Would Suck Without You" Boyz II Men – “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” Sixpence None the Richer – “Kiss Me” Gnarls Barkley – “Run” K.D. Lang – “Constant Craving” Yoko Kanno & the Seatbelts – “Tank” Paul Simon – “You Can Call Me ‘Al’” Eartha Kitt – “Santa Baby” Counting Crows – “Mr. Jones” Robin Williams – “Friend Like Me” On the Rocks – “Bad Romance” OK Go – “Here It Goes Again” Backstreet Boys - "Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely" Johann Johannsson - "The Sun's Gone Dim and the Sky's Turned Grey" El Hoochadore {Spoiler}--- The Streets - "Blinded By the Lights" No Comment - "Overkill" They Might Be Giants - "Birdhouse in Your Soul" David Bowie w. B.Crosby - "Little Drummer Boy" The Main Drag - "A Jagged Gorgeous Winter" The Who - "I Can't Explain" Susan Sarandon – “Touch-a Touch-a Touch-a Touch Me” Samantha Fox – “Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)” Kenny Loggins – “I’m All Right” Smashing Pumpkins - "Cherub Rock" Smashing Pumpkins - "Eye" The Soul Survivors – “Expressway to Your Heart” Metric – “Black Sheep” Elvis Costello – “Radio Radio” Matthew Sweet – “Girlfriend” Chris Botti – “A Thousand Kisses Deep” The Smiths – “How Soon is Now?” Bad News – “Cashing in on Christmas” Ben Folds Five – “Alice Childress” Nightmare Before Christmas – “Jack’s Obsession” Brentalfloss – “Ducktales” Lisa Lougheed – “Run With Us” Trans Siberian Orchestra - "What Child Is This?" Jewel - "Angel Standing By" The Baldy Kendrick, you have never been on the chopping block. This is the first time you have been, but could it be that first last and final time for you in this competition? You've been doing really well. But there is no BIG SAVE, to save you now. The BIG SAVE was used on the other on the chopping block. El Hoochadore! El Hoochadore, you had the chance to redeem yourself, but a few of the judges were upset that you didn't after using the BIG SAVE. But using the Big Save on you meant, you must have had potential. Was that potential enough to oust over your opponent in the Bottom 2? Well let's find out... The 5th placer, scored a total of 59 points. That is 14 points more than the last place finisher tonight. The contestant with lowest number of votes, with only 45 points, and the contestant to be eliminated after the DEADLOCK is... ... {Spoiler}EL HOOCHADORE.
Which means THE BALDY KENDRICK IS SAFE! *TBK looks up at the ceiling, then goes for a handshake and pat on the back to El Hoochadore* *Pegasus Warrior Exhales deeply* {Spoiler}El Hoochadore, you were a mighty fine contestant, even though the last couple rounds weren't a strong point. Any final words for us here on the X Factor? We look forward to your future endeavors. Widow's Peak. Any thoughts on your fallen contestant? So there you go. This was the last week for Judges Weekly save. Each contestant from now on will be auto-eliminated after each round based on scores! (But judges still tune in to the Judge's House for Stryker's thoughts and discussion of ideas, for the future competition) Also from this point on, no more advice for contestants. You have all made it along this far already. Which means you are the cream of the crop, the elite left of the game. You don't need anymore advice, cause you know how to play already! DO you final 5, have... THE X FACTOR? Here are your standings: {Spoiler} Songs will be going out to judges momentarily. Please get them in, before I send them out.

Missing 1 Song from all themes, except musicals. Person can still get them in for judging. Added *In the Last 3 songs, and fixed cut and paste typos. Musicals: Foreign Language (Non-English): Unique Instruments: Music + Videos.

At this stage, it would stink if someone got eliminated for laziness, especially since there is no such thing as a Judge's Save from here on in.

Good picks for the most part, couple of stinkers though.
Impressed by 4/5 of the picks for the Musical round. Would love to see that in an earlier round so we get more picks in the next game, if only there were some way I could influence that...

Well it's been a fun ride. I'm impressed that I made it this far. And I'm crushed by the irony that I was eliminated right before the Musicals round. Best of luck to everyone left.

No problem, take your time now Widow's Peak. I won't be able to do any write-ups until Saturday now, also due to work. But I have the next theme ready to post sometime tonight, as we wait. The game is coming to a close just 2 rounds and then the finale. Edit: So I just got, Widow's Entries. Well I'll have the next theme and the next results together... as soon as work escapes me. ugh. *I also really got a kick, at one of the selections, for having two of my forum name sakes involved.

Will have results sometime today (Monday). Just came home, it's late now and I'm very tired. For now our themes. (No advice this time) This is The Rock Music Concert... AND we are LIVE! A theme specialty of mine, and a Favorite theme of mine, that TBK first introduced us to in XFI2 as a judge and again in XFI3 as a host. It has produced some of the best XFI performances in my opinion, and I am hoping to carry on the tradition of having at least one every game. Turn in TWO songs, for the Live Song performance. *One Any LIVE Performance, and *A second Live Performance that fits this exact criteria as TBK wrote out in XFI3: Both choices will be put on the same judging front, so both first and second place votes are possible. But wait! That's not all, the second part of the round. Everyone's favorite theme: ROCK Music. It hasn't happened before, so there it is. Nice and simple, select TWO songs, that falls under the extremely wide musical genre of Rock music. Both selections will be judges on the same list, like the Live theme. So it will also be possible to get first and second place votes here. So yes, Top 4 (Whoever you will be) that's 4 songs Each. Two Live, one any you can find, and one from T.V. Two Rock Music Selections. Easy enough right?Let's get them in by the time I post the results, huh? While I still have a clear schedule. Any questions? Let me know.

FIVE are left. This is The X Factor. And we are LIVE. Widow's Peak{Spoiler}Broadway Musicals:
1. Monty Python's Spamalot - "Knights Of The Round Table": Show stopping and hysterical. Excellent selection! 2. Jesus Christ Superstar - "Superstar": Funky disco and religious revival go great together. 3. Guys and Dolls - "Nicely Nicely Rocking the Boat": A great show-stopper that has seen better renditions than this one. 4. Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons - "Can't Take My Eyes off You": It’s a great song that maybe would have done better in another round. 5. Legally Blonde the Musical - "Bend and Snap": A bit irritating, unfortunately.
Foreign Language:
1. Falco - "Rock Me Amadeus": It’s a ridiculous song, but it’s still damn entertaining. 2. Zaz - "Le Long De La Route": Very catchy. A nice discovery. 3. Kenji Otsuki - "Hito Tos***e Jiku ga Bureteiru": Really like the energy of this one. 4. Kyu Sakamoto - "Sukiyaki": Kind of a sleepy, lounge vibe here. Interesting. 5. V6 - "Change the World": Typical boy-band sound.
Unique Instruments:
1. Sabre Dance - "Aram Khachaturian": I love that you went with this. A great risk that paid off. 2. Rush - "Tom Sawyer": I’m surprised this hasn’t come up before. What can you say? Its just amazing. 3. Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear the Reaper" : *insert cowbell joke here* The song itself maybe a bit overplayed, but it is still a great tune. 4. Supertramp - "Take The Long Way Home": It’s a very catchy tune and not one that would immediately come to mind. 5. Just Jack- "The Day I Died": Nice piece of storytelling and a very simple tune.
Music videos: 1. Beastie Boys - "Sabotage": One of the most creative and fun videos ever. 2. Plan B - "Prayin'" : Sort of “OZ” meets “Step It Up”. The song is pretty good and the direction is very watchable. 3. Wings - "Band On The Run": Interesting that you went old-old school for this one. I love the art direction, and I’ve always had a soft spot for this song. 4. Robert Palmer - "Addict To Love”: Classic video, but it was silly even in the 80s. 5. TRUSTcompany - "Running From Me": Pretty full of clichés. These themes have been present in many other videos. Pegasus Warrior{Spoiler}MUSICALS 1. Guys and Dolls - "Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat" 2. Monty Python's Spamalot - "Knights Of The Round Table" 3. Jesus Christ Superstar - "Superstar" 4. Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons - "Can't Take My Eyes off You" 5. Legally Blonde the Musical - "Bend and Snap"
----------------------------
FOREIGN LANGUAGE 1. V6 - "Change the World" 2. Falco - "Rock Me Amadeus" 3. Kyu Sakamoto - "Sukiyaki (Ue O Muite Aruko)” 4. Kenji Otsuki - "Hito Tos***e Jiku ga Bureteiru" 5. Zaz - "Le Long De La Route"
------------------------------
IS THAT ALL YOU GOT? 1. Blue Oyster Cult - "Don't Fear the Reaper" 2. Aram Khachaturian – “Sabre Dance” 3. Supertramp - "Take The Long Way Home" 4. Rush - "Tom Sawyer" 5. Just Jack- "The Day I Died"
-----------------------------
MUSIC VIDEOS 1. Beastie Boys - "Sabotage" 2. Wings - "Band On The Run" 3. Robert Palmer - "Addicted To Love" 4. Plan B - "Prayin'" 5. TRUSTcompany - "Running From Me" Strykerdarksilence{Spoiler}Here are my song rankings;
Musicals.
1. Jesus Christ Superstar - "Superstar" I was hoping this would come up. Such a clever song, impactful lyrics, and an incredible choice of performances. Kudos. 2. Guys and Dolls - "Nicely Nicely Rocking the Boat" One of my absolute favourite songs from a great show. I'll be singing the chorus for weeks. 3. Legally Blonde the Musical - "Bend and Snap" Great song, good pick, loses out to others with more impact though. 4. Frankie Valli and The 4 Seasons - "Can't Take My Eyes off You" Love Jersey Boys and I adore this version of this song, absolutely the best one. Nice choice, but given my love for musical compositions, being a pop song worked into a (albeit superb) musical means it loses out a touch. 5. Monty Python's Spamalot - "Knights Of The Round Table" I love Python and I love musicals. The two don't mesh for me though, one of my least favourite musicals.
Foreign Language
1. Zaz - "Le Long De La Route" Love this, love this, love this. Great sound, beautifully sung and just a fantastic song. 2. Falco - "Rock Me Amadeus" I don't know anybody who isn't hooked by this chorus. Excellent song, and even though the style ages badly, the song remains timeless in it's 'epic' composition style. Also, Dr Zaius, Dr Zaius! 3. Kyu Sakamoto - "Sukiyaki" Nice and friendly, but lacking a punch. 5. V6 - "Change the World" Well sung but faaaaaar too cheesy. 8. Kenji Otsuki - "Hito Tos***e Jiku ga Bureteiru" I normally like Japanese music, but this was a bit flat and tuneless sorry.
Unique Instruments
1. Supertramp - "Take The Long Way Home" Beautiful, just beautiful. You could have got top marks using that in the video round too. 2. Sabre Dance - "Aram Khachaturian" That was great. All it needs is Bart in Grandpa's teeth swinging on the ceiling fan! 3. Just Jack- "The Day I Died" I like the music, the lyrics and the vocal, but it's just missing something extra for me, call it 'X Factor' (Arf arf) 4. Tom Sawyer - "Rush" I've never been a big fan of Rush. I appreciate what they do, it's just not my bag. 5. Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear the Reaper" And for BOC repeat my comment for Rush only double it. I find them very pretentious.
Music and Video
Plan B - "Prayin'" Really you could have submitted anything off 'Strickland Banks' and stood a good chance of winning. Awesome song and video from an incredibly talented man. TRUSTcompany - "Running From Me" Good song, video was a nice try but didn't really work for me, but good enough for second place here. Wings - "Band On The Run" Good video, but it's not a song I'm massively fond of. Robert Palmer - "Addict To Love" A song I've never liked much that has been played into the ground, and a video I've never understood the appeal of. It's just women wearing too much makeup looking bored. Beastie Boys - "Sabotage" This will be VEEEEEEEEEEEEERY unpopular, but as much as I love the Beasties, I have always really disliked sabotage and found the video tries too hard to be funny. PKSandman's Thoughts{Spoiler}Musicals 1st: Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons- Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You (from Jersey Boys) 2nd: Monty Python's Spamalot- Knights of the Round Table 3rd: Jesus Christ Superstar- Superstar 4th: Guys and Dolls- Nicely Nicely Rocking the Boat 5th: Legally Blonde: The Musical- Bend and Snap
I freely admit that I'm not a fan of musicals and this for the most part reaffirmed it. I liked 3 of the songs, 1 was too old for my tastes, and 1 just completely clashed with my thoughts as to what a song from a musical should be.
Foreign Language 1st: Falco- Rock Me Amadeus 2nd: Kenji Otsuki- As A Human, I'm Quite Warped (English title) 3rd: Zaz- Le Long de la Route 4th: Change the World- V6 5th: Kyu Sakamoto- Sukiyaki
This was a better lineup of music for me. Nothing I objectly hated, and one song I dig a lot. A shame no one went with the one artist that would have scored big with me (and no, I'm not sharing in case I wind up competing next go round), but that's me just complaining.
Unique Instruments 1st: Rush- Tom Sawyer 2nd: Just Jack- The Day I Died 3rd: Supertramp- Take the Long Way Home 4th: Blue Oyster Cult- Don't Fear the Reaper 4th: Aram Khachaturian- Sabre Dance
...F***. You guys are making this TOUGH on me. All four of these songs are EXTREMELY good. I'd love to give you all first on this, but that's not the nature of this competition. I'm... WOW.
Music + Videos 1st: Beastie Boys- Sabotage 2nd: Plan B- Prayin 3rd: Paul McCartney and Wings- Band on the Run 4th: Robert Palmer- Addicted to Love 5th: TRUSTcompany- Running from Me
Not as good as the last lineup, and about as good as the second line-up. Good songs, with one popping out at me. Special Guest Judge: El Hoochadoore is here! {Spoiler}Comments in parenthesis
Musicals
1. Spamalot: Knights of the Round Table (I love Monty Python! And I loved Spamalot. It was the last show I had the chance to see on Broadway. Sadly, it was after Tim Curry left, but was still great. Good choice.)
2. Jesus Christ Superstar: Superstar (Unbelievably over the top, but in a good way. Just the way we like Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber)
3. Guy and Dolls: Nicely Nicely Rocking the Boat (Classic song from a classic musical.)
4. Frankie Vallie & the 4 Seasons: Can't Take My Eyes Off of You (I'm not the biggest fan of jukebox musicals, so that's the only thing that this song had going against it. Other than that, it's a very fine song)
5. Legally Blonde: Bend and Snap (The fact that Legally Blonde: The Musical exists makes me die a little inside every time I think about. Wasn't a fan of the movie, not a fan of this adaptation either)
Foreign Language
1. Falco: Rock Me Amadeus (I'll have thiS song stuck in my head the rest of the night. And I'm not complaining about that)
2. Kenji Otsuki: Hito Tos***e Jiku ga Bureteiru (I liked this. Makes me think it could be used as entrance music for a visiting Japanese team at a CHIKARA event)
3. Zaz: La Long de la Route (An upbeat little number, to be sure. And even though I didn't understand a word, that didn't detract from my enjoyment one bit)
4. V6: Change the World (I'm not the biggest fan of boy bands, regardless of language. But this was tolerable)
5. Kyu Sakamoto: Sukiyaki (A mellow little tune. A little too mellow for my taste though)
Unique Instruments
1. Aram Khachaturian: The Sabre Dance (YES!!! Best choice for this round, no question!)
2. Rush: Tom Sawyer (Is there anyone on Earth who doesn't mark out for this song? I really dig the synth part in the bridge)
3. Blue Oyster Cult: Don't Fear The Reaper (I got a fever... and you know how the rest goes. Gotta respect the cow bell)
4. Supertramp: Take The Long Way Home (Not enough songs have harmonica in them these days. Such an under utilized instrument. Good choice.)
5. Just Jack: The Day I Died (The strings in this song underwhelmed me. Sorry.)
Music & Video
1. Plan B: Prayin' (This video took me by surprise. Absolutely amazing. Everything just fit so well together. I'm definitely going to watch this one again.)
2. Beastie Boys: Sabotage (One of the classic, iconic videos of the 90's. If it were an actual show, I'd totally watch "Sabotage" if this video was the title sequence.)
3. Robert Palmer: Addicted To Love (Another iconic video, but this time from the 80's. Who wasn't entertained by Robert Palmer's backup band of models?)
4. Wings: Band On the Run (Pretty impressive video from the medium's infancy. A lot of the animation reminded me of Terry Gilliam's animation from Monty Python's Flying Circus.)
5. TRUSTcompany: Running From Me (The look of the video matched the tone of the song very well. But on the whole, it really didn't do much for me.) I will be separating the contestants into 2 separate groups. One group is safe. The other is our Bottom 2. THE BALDY KENDRICK. You are Group 1. Head to the far Right of the stage. GDR, GUS RICHLEN. You are Group 2, Head to the far Left of the stage. SQUARE, You are also in Group 2. Join GDR. SLIGHTLY UNSHAVEN you almost didn't make the show, but you got in, at the last second! You are Group 1. Join TBK. DEMENTED You are the last one left. Will you finish a groups bottom 3? You must join one of the two groups, which one do you think you belong in? *Demented joins Group #1 which has Slightly Unshaven, figuring they both are in the bottom Group, for being the last remaining, and the last to turn in songs respectively. Demented... the group you have chosen is... CORRECT... {Spoiler}Because with the highest score of the round with 71, you are SAFE!
WHICH MEANS THE ENTIRE GROUP #1 is SAFE! Which means unfortunately, the Bottom 2 are So who is SAFE??? With no more judges save, or weekly save, the person going home tonight is... {Spoiler}What is this?? We have A TIE??? Unbelievable! With 52 points a piece, both contestants are tied in the bottom 2.
So here's what we will do. Pick a ROCK or LIVE PERFORMANCE song, you think will save you, from elimination, enough to bring you to the Top 4. This way you will prove to the judges, that you will be bringing something great to the table, with your upcoming picks, should you make it to that theme.
Send the pick to me via PM. I will send them to the judges for a vote, and will announce the winner in-thread. Since I've already gotten some song picks in for the next round, No one will be marked down for any repeats for the themes. Now GO!
Here are the Rankings/Scores: {Spoiler} All Songs... Deadline Tuesday Night!

Tie Breaker Songs: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyH9jEReWJERumer - "Am I forgiven?" www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGoWtY_h4xoBryan Adams - "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" Judges who haven't voted yet, don't click spoiler until after you have voted, please. {Spoiler}Judge #1: Vote Rumer - "Am I forgiven?" - It's nice when you get to make a new discovery because of this competition. The Bryan Adams tune suffers from overplay, while this song was a breath of fresh air by comparison.
Judge #2 - Something witty and essentially saying "I'm sorry, can I have another chance in this competition?" vs. a song that's overplayed to death?
My vote is for "Am I Forgiven?". This is the perfect song to get out of elimination for me.

Last Tie Breaker Results {Spoiler}Judge #3 - I vote for Rumer. I just love that girl, her voice and her music. Bryan Adams has some great songs, but an over played, schmaltzy ballad isn't one of them. I think even if I weren't a Rumer fan, I'd have to go against Everything I Do sorry.
Judge #4 - Rumer's "Am I Forgiven?" get my vote. That is a golden voice and the swagger in the delivery meshes confidence very well with a bubbly and bouncy comfort. This also shows a willingness to dive right into the LIVE round, and I like that.
The Bryan Adams video is one I've seen and heard countless times, and while it's far from terrible, it's basically like just going through the motions when I hear this song now.
Which Means... By Unanimous Decision, Square Advances to the next round. GDR, Gus Richlen goes home at 5th Place...
Gus Richlen. You have been an awesome competitor, truthfully, perhaps my favorite player in this current game. I always love your input and use of the the song reasons. I hope you come back again for the next game. Heck I'd nominate you to judge. I hope you continue to watch the competition.
Any final words before you leave us tonight?
Widow's Peak, any last words for your fallen contestant? *I will edit this post again as soon as all songs are sent in. Waiting on the above saved (of course), and I think that's it.
