Let's use this thread so us Swagger fans (We need a name damnit! The Swagger Squad? Dibs on leader!) can discuss Swagger and Swagger facts. Undertaker is 18-0 at WrestleMania, Jack Swagger is 1-0, who has the belt? Point Swagger.

Wow quicker than I thought. Ok, here's all I want to know. For those of you who try to avoid spoilers... Were you able to navigate through the week without finding this one out, and if so how? Two blogs I do check out apart from this site, Seth Mates' and Kevin Eck didn't have anything to do with today's episode. Just some poor spoilering here gave it away. As for the win itself, shocking but intriguing. Thought they'd build him up a bit first but I guess they view the character beating out ten other guys in a brutal match as build up enough. Swagger is going to be a huge part of WWE's future, although I don't doubt that just like with Sheamus, people will say 'We wanted young stars, just not that young star' which will beg the question as to who exactly will deserve a push. Sheamus was apparently too quick, hadn't been established with the audience and couldn't wrestle well. Even though I disagree on all counts, Swagger has been around a bit, paid his dues on Raw, can wrestle, and can talk. What exactly would be the problem here? Shouldn't worry about him getting serious either. I think the expression change from being over excitable to serious once he actually had the belt was brilliant. It was like he claims all along that he's so great, but has nothing to back it up, and now he has proof. Besides, serious main eventers sell PPVs. Jokes don't. Even The Rock, after giving a comedy promo, would then get serious before he finished it off. I don't think people can be expected to invest their money if one of the participants in a match treats the build up like a joke. And reading a prepared statement was great heat.

At least with SRS Jack Swagger, he can cease running around like a retarded gorilla.

At least with SRS Jack Swagger, he can cease running around like a retarded gorilla. That was a MAJOR reason for my disliking of his character. I hated that with a passion. I honestly hope it's gone for good.

I honestly hope it's gone for good. While I agree with hating the double-arm chest bump, I don't want him being SUPER super-serious. I was on board with it when I read the spoilers, but now it just seems like too much of a change without explanation.

I liked his address at the end of the show but overall was not a fan of SRS Swagger. I thought Swagger worked best as a cocky jock heel. But the jurys still out, we'll see.

Meh. This just further shows that WWE belts mean nothing anymore. A guy who has been losing like crazy on Raw now becomes the heavyweight champion. Whoop De Doo!! How come there are never any young stars who I genuinely enjoy, and who have been seemingly shafted for a main event title run never can, but the "Paul Romas" and "Stan Stasiaks" seem to always get the title?
First Sheamus, now this goof? And my problem with this isn't mainly Swagger and his ability, but just how he had been made to look by WWE before, and now I'm supposed to take him seriously a s a world champion, who can carry the company on his shoulders??? Get f***in real.

Thoughout that end promo, I could focus on nothing else but his lisp. I think that may be partly why he's "more serious" and talks slower..

Get F***in real. WWE titles lost their luster about 8 years ago. I am a Jack Swagger fan, loved him in ECW, hated it when he was going through the losing streak on Raw. Seems kinda quick for him to win the title but I am not going to complain. The kid has charisma, something Shaemus lacks that hurt his title reign, I am sure the smackdown creative crew are going to put the full push police behind this reign and try to elevate Swagger into the permanent main event level. But we'll see. I don't wanna see him go total serious though, he needs to keep the wild entrance and the cocky attitude.

Can anybody buy Jack Swagger as a serious heel with that lisp? Imo there is too much unintentional comedy.

Very excited. Finally WWE pushes a guy I enjoy (although I'd prefer Kofi).

So when does Swags start blaming "all these hypocrites" for his jobber status?
