Wow quicker than I thought.
Ok, here's all I want to know. For those of you who try to avoid spoilers...
Were you able to navigate through the week without finding this one out, and if so how?

From this moment, consider me cautiously optimistic. I will sit here to wait and see what happens, hoping that Swagger will make the impact that I think he can.

I usually don't read spoilers, but after I saw the spoiler thread went 23 pages I got curious. But, yeah, all you had to do was go into the Smackdown thread tonight and everyone was acting like a teenager that was about to climax for the first time. Sheesh, makes me glad that Punk's first time was live. As a matter of fact, the WWE really shouldn't pull the trigger on a MitB win on taped TV.

Is he trying to be Kurt Angle version 2.0 with the stars and stripes / red, white, and blue wrestling gear?

iMPACT! is officialy screwed. How so? Because iMPACT! now officialy sucks in every single with a young guy winning one of WWE's most prestigious belts.

No. No. No. No. No. Just no. I like that they're attempting to build a new legit star, but I don't like that it's Jack Swagger. I don't care for Lisps McGillicutty in the least.

Still irked this was at Jericho's expense (I was hoping he'd hold it at least until Extreme Rules), but other than that I see no downside. The cash in worked great, and his demeanor totally changed once he actually became champion. He looked like a champion, and as the show progresses that'll only continue.
I've very optimistic about this. Annoyed as a major Jericho fan, but quite optimistic.

I liked Swagger the first time I saw him, and he has that in common with Sheamus; another thing he has in common with the big Irishman, though, is that I think this might be too much, too soon.
I think Jack Swagger has a TREMENDOUS upside, but he's spent the last few months on Raw being jobbed out left and right, and now he's the World champion?
I'm all for "loyalty tests" (especially after Brock Lesnar) and "respect"/"thank you" pushes, and I definitely saw Swagger as a WWE/World champion some day, but to say that I'm surprised is an understatement. Still, I'm cautiously optimistic, as it seems like WWE is trying to push new talent. That can't be a bad thing.
Good luck, Champ, and congratulations!

You mean this? It's probably going to go away now that he's become a SERIOUS BORING HEEL. The giant toothy grin is already gone. Makes zero sense now that he has new bright red, white, and blue ring gear. With that getup, he should be a grinning jackass braying about how he's the most American guy around. Instead, they got it backwards, he went from being a carefree heel in black gear to a SERIOUS BORING guy in bright colors. I'm happy Swagger is getting recognized since I think the guy is a talent, but not like this.
