So come here, post your steam profiles or something (http://steamcommunity.com/id/thwak) and talk about games that you control with a mouse and keyboard! As a PC gamer, this thread pleases me Steam IDPretty much playing L4D2 these days, nothing else. Love the modded servers that let you do 16-player campaign or 8-on-8 versus. Laggy as hell, but crazy fun. I've been going back to my collection of Point N Click adventure games. At the moment, I'm playing Full Throttle I've never really been into point-and-click games, but I did get the updated "Secret of Monkey Island" a couple weeks ago for $2.50 through Steam. Short experience, but enjoyable. Without the terrific humor, I'm not so sure I would've enjoyed it as much, though.

MoO2 is my old school flavor of the month.
Been playing Star Trek DAC... and it's so simple yet fun. It's a nice arcade style BOOM BOOM game.

So, what's everyone's consensus on Napoleon: Total War?
I'm hearing, from total war fans, that the game seems like it should be an expansion to empire total war, but it still looks pretty interesting since it's freaking napoleon!

Ahhhh PC games, I still play them quite often myself. Actually playing through Space Quest IV at the moment.
I don't have a steam account unfortunately. I don't play a lot of the newer games on PC. Except Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, this game will always be my favorite sim or mogul type game. BRING OUT THE 4TH ONE ALREADY!!!!!!!

so there's supposed to be some sort of team fortress 2 event going on this weekend.
this is very tempting... but I'm afraid of being a n00b in a game that's very team focused.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's been around for a couple years now and a lot of people have probably logged in dozens upon dozens of hours, know all the details about the maps, the best camping spots, etc. I bought the game for $2.50 a couple months ago (Steam had a 3-hour sale) and played for a couple hours, and it was a pretty embarrassing experience. Didn't know what I was doing. When L4D2 came out, I never bothered to try and get better at TF2. It seems like a great game, though, and one that's worth playing and getting better at. You gotta start somewhere I suppose. You'd eventually get better as time went on.

Dudes, don't worry about being a n00b in TF2. I had the same worry when I started playing a few months ago (I even made a thread about) it, and my fears were unfounded. Most people on public servers are pretty laid back and won't hate on you for being ignorant or inept, and with full-size teams it's not like you're going to drag your team down too much by yourself. Anybody who lets fear of n00bishness keep them from playing TF2 is cheating themselves. It's really well balanced, and with nine different classes, you're pretty much guaranteed to find a niche or at least something you can do halfway decently while you get a feel for things.

I reinstalled Diablo 2:LoD with the MedianXL mod to play with my girlfriend, and now her roommate is in on it as well. It's freakin' *hard*, but fun.
I still play Warhammer Online and having a f***in' blast doing it too. I have a static group every Monday & Tuesday night for about 3 hours and it's awesome. 4-5 people taking on 4 times our number and if we don't win, we always take down about twice our number or more. We've taken enemy keeps(castles) many times with just us, really fun.

Yeah, you're right. As long as you can tough it out in the beginning and deal with not knowing what the hell you're doing, you're bound to improve. You won't magically get better without going through some tough times. BTW, Psy, have you played Torchlight? Seems like a Diablo-esque game and has gotten terrific reviews. Steam has it for $10 and I'm thinking of getting it, even though I've never played the Diablo series (or similarly-styled RPGs for that matter).

On TF2 all I gotta say is this, if you are on Defense, or hell even offense and you see that there are two people playing Spy or Sniper DON'T GO SPY OR SNIPER!

L4D2 has already helped alienate me from friends and family, so Torchlight couldn't possibly make it any worse ;D I did find a demo on Steam and just downloaded it, so I'm gonna go give it a shot.

torchlight from what I've seen is an evolved form of diablo, but with a handy "make game into a rougelike" button.
