So it's now been, what, a good three weeks since the Team Fortress 2 Soldier/Demo update, and as a Medic I'm STILL running into Soldiers who run around with the Equalizer equipped screaming for me to heal them. Meanwhile, in my last CTF round on Turbine, I was accused of using an aimbot by an enemy Demoman who I killed a couple of times with my syringe gun.

This could please many: The original Aliens vs. Predator that came out in 2000 for the PC has been re-released through Steam: Aliens vs. Predator Classic 2000I vaguely remember this game from back in the day but don't think I ever played it. Apparently the original game had trouble running on more modern set-ups and required fan-made mods to do so. But now it's been re-released so that it can run on all modern PCs that use DirectX 9, and even supports widescreen resolutions. It currently lacks multiplayer, but that will be added soon via a free patch.

As an aside, I can not use the WASD control scheme since I have nerve damage in my left arm, end up using the mouse in that hand.

I usually remap the 6-key pad above the cursors so that insert/delete look up and down (depending on the game's camera abilities with the mouse), home jumps, end ducks (or targets next/nearest enemy), pageup is my reload for FPS games or otherwise mapped to specific abilities in MMOs. Same with pagedown.

I just uninstalled C&C 3 again after a series of Skirmishes w/ my girlfriend either against her or against the computer. Good game, but gets old pretty quickly. As you can probably tell by the user name "Missile Squad Ready", I did fairly well with infantry.
My usual tactic on my favorite maps was to utilize snipers & missile troops in garrisoned buildings to guard against enemy infantry, vehicles, & aircraft. Then I'd build a powerful air force (never any Orcas, didn't really see a need for them) of bombers & anti-aircraft and smash the enemy base defenses & power grid. Follow that up with some of the powered armor infantry and you usually have a rout or else you cripple the enemy for some time.

Although the level architecture looks like something out of the Build engine it's still the most excellent game. Sneaking around tight corridoors just and then suddenly the radar starts making the beeping noise anOMG THEY'RE COMING OUT OF THE WALLS! Yeah, it's probably the scariest gaming experience I've ever had. F.E.A.R has nothing on this game. And then when you are on your last save and you get into the alien hive and you see nothing but you hear this slithering sound. And man are those Aliens fast once they get you. The Predator campaign is a lot different. I've just played the first level and you are sneaking around killing lower life forms while being invisible. Great fun for the whole family. Predator has all the vision modes and weapons from the movie and he jumps like crazy. I haven't tried the Alien campaign yet. Anyway. The game is only 2,99€/$$$ on Steam so get it now. Oh, and I'm super hyped for the new Aliens versus Predator (3). Which is named Aliens vs Predator. Makes perfect sense. However I'm somehow worried about this whole "developed for console" thing.

And if you happen to have the first one already, you can gift the original to a friend, which is very cool. I think I'm gonna hold off though and wait to see some reviews and hear what friends have to say about it. Loved the first, but I've heard mixed feelings about the direction of the sequel. That's the one thing I always hear about this game: Atmosphere. Just a scary-as-f*** game that will leave you trembling. I loved FEAR and thought that was creepy, so it's nice to hear this is even more so. And for $5, it's really tough to pass up.

Is that the same as the Aliens Vs. Predator 2 Gold? If so, I have it, and it is indeed something other than else. I think the first Space Marine missions had some of the best atmosphere. I mean... there's nothing. Nothing. You *know* the crap the is about to hit the fan, but you don't know when and you don't know how.

There was a Gold edition of Aliens versus Predator but no such one for Alien versus Predator 2(I just checked Wikipedia) Damn. These names are getting confusing. There's the 1999 classic FPS Aliens versus Predator. It's has now been rereleased as Classic 2000. Which has the Gold version additions. The 1999 game has a 2001 sequel Aliens versus Predator 2 made by a different team. And now the original team is making a new game called Alien vs Predator. Which would be the third in the series. Unless it's a reboot/remake. And then there's the totally unreleated Atari Jaguar FPS Alien vs Predator. And I'm not going to mention the games based on the Alien(s) vs Predator movies.

I do have the gold for AvP2, searched through my box of games to find it... though I ended up finding it in my old trapper-keeper. Can't find the expansion discs though, damnit.

I mean I could beat it! if I could beat it you too could beat it! so what if I had over 4 thousand deaths! I played the 2-level demo and enjoyed it. Loving the retro Commodore-64 look and it's easy to get into. Challenging but not to the point where I became frustrated and wanted to stop playing. If anything, I wanna play to the end, but $15 seems pretty steep for what you're getting.
