I still will be able to watch ROH on youtube since I don't have HDNet. I could always just switch to TNA if they hire Danielson.
I've been trying to watch TNA and WWE, but neither are really that great. I've been with WWE a long time, so brand loyalty and all, but meh. I might just stick to ROH on the internet and maybe get my DVDs and stuff.
This kid stuff is starting to annoy me.

I cant think of a single "last straw" but over ther past half decade i've seen my interest slowly wane from the product I'm seeing. I don't really blame the WWE or get irate over it, because they're not aiming towards people my age they're trying to redirect their audience and get the younger crowd to grow with the product. The only issue with that is it works short term. The younger crowd grows up and once it's not "cool" to watch wrestling they stop in droves. I remember in High School being mocked for watching wrestling, and how most people stopped watching it when they were in 4th grade. And two years later in college you couldnt walk by a dorm room on a Monday night without hearing wrestling from behind the door.
The more they alienate their older fans the fewr people will watch. I don't think they'll be able to replace those who don't watch wrestling anymore with newer fans.
But again, I'm not angry with the WWE for the current product. I just don't think it's that good. I was a mark for 24 for the first few seasons and they couldn't grab my attention in the final season.

My last straw was in late-2002 (Katie Vick + a legit burnout). I took a LONG break and never came back to WWE, although I periodically watched YouTube clips over the last few years if I heard something big happened. I only came back to wrestling when Hogan signed on with TNA, and I'm barely holding interest in TNA now. If Hogan stayed retired, I would have too. I am actually surprised people over 20 watch the WWE, to be honest. MMA is huge now and wrestling is being targeted to kids. What is the incentive to watch? It would be like a 20 year old complaining that Hannah Montana storylines are not intriguing enough. Simply put, the WWE is not marketing to you anymore (i.e. the late-teen or over crowd). That is why the product likely sucks in your eyes. In 1993, when Hogan, Warrior, and co. left/were phased out, I stopped watching the WWF. I only came back to wrestling when Hall and Nash "invaded" WCW and Hogan turned heel. Since I was in college at the time, the more adult themed/realistic WCW appealed to me more. I never sat through the WWF's "rebuilding" days just because I started watching in 1986. If I don't find something entertaining, I stop watching. I wasn't going to watch Doink and Dink dance around in the hopes that the storylines would improve. At some point all of you are going to out grow wrestling. It happened to me and my friends. I still love watching old clips from when I was growing up, but the new stuff bores me. I think some of you are just teetering on that point right now. Honestly, I'm 31 and I still find the product enjoyable. Not the best its been, but I've enjoyed it more the last year than from 2005-2008. I don't find UFC very interesting at all and see it as a fad that will eventually die out (just as boxing after Tyson fell, Wrestling after the Wars). Personally, I'll watch wrestling over MMA any day of the week. I don't think everyone grows out of wrestling. We have a big group of guys that go to every show. One of the guys is 64 and watches weekly and has since he was a little boy.

One of the upsides of not having a TV and not using streams (As per the requirements of legally having no TV license) is the ability to assert quality control. I very rarely watch Raw or NXT all the way through anymore. Maybe it's a sign of age, but I just wanna see some good wrestling. If WWE don't want a show to do that, I'll go elsewhere.

To be honest, I haven't watched Raw since January 4th, and the product overall doesn't feel worth the effort of downloading. I watch the bits I am interested in on YouTube, and that's probably the way it will stay for the foreseeable future.

To be completely realistic, it's difficult to tell what would make any given product a "fad" or not. Firing Danielson won't make WWE any more (or less) of a "fad" than it already was; it would require some major change in culture/marketing to make wrestling "hip" again. That said, sticking your head in the sand and hoping MMA will just go away will not make it so. Considering this is the attitude of both the WWE and its remaining adult fanbase, I'm not holding out much hope. I'll still watch but I'm rapidly losing patience with the remaining adult fans who think that the WWE's current gameplan is somehow sustainable (and TNA's current gameplan is even more ridiculous, enough with the "Danielson could be a big star in TNA!" stuff.)

I usually go through phases of not watching. Coincidentally, it usually seems to start whenever Cena is champion. I haven't been watching for about a month or two, and from the looks of things, I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm more bothered by the supposedly stupid reason of "kids may think its fun to choke each other with ties" Really? What kid in their right mind watched that and said "Hey! That looks like fun!" If they did, it's not WWE's fault, that kid was gonna choke someone eventually anyway, beacuse he is probably crazy. I watched a lot of wrestling as a kid, and yeah, I may have powerbombed my brother in the living room, but I never strangled him witha foreign object. The point is, kids are stupid and will hurt each other anyway. May as well take the matches away too then.

You know I've been watching less and less wrestling and paying less attention to it when I am watching it because it's gotten to the point of being stupid and pointless.
This is uncalled for releasing Danielson.
I'm not going to say I'm never going to watch again, but I might start considering other options on Monday nights.

I'll give them the benefit of a doubt, to see where the NXT angle goes now on this Monday's episode of Raw.
If it's as bad as I'm thinking (Cena destroys the remaining NXT guys or something equally ludicrous), then I'll probably take a few weeks off from watching, but I know it won't be forever.
In the end I might just give up on Raw. The guest host thing has more than wore out it's welcome, with last week's A-Team episode being especially horrible.

That could do alot more damage than choking...

I just started watching regularly again last fall, after taking a 3 year hiatus only watching occasionally. I doubt that I'll stop watching completely but it being summer and all, if the E doesn't put on a solid product from here on out, I'll find something better to do on Monday nights.

I'm not even that huge a Bryan fan, but this is the last straw for me. I didn't even so much care for the NXT angle anyway - sure, it was cool, but it was not the greatest segment ever and WWE is going to blow it sooner rather than later. I'm more just tired of the bland shows getting in the way when I could be doing more valuable things and anything remotely violent being treated to either firings or matches being stopped to make them better.
Those Mattel toys look horrible anyway.

I'll still watch but I'm rapidly losing patience with the remaining adult fans who think that the WWE's current gameplan is somehow sustainable Why is it not sustainable? They are still making mega $$$$$. Their profits are well above any levels to be concerned about. The fan base is holding steady, and has been for the last few years after the Monday Night Wars exodus. They are doing decent PPV numbers. The DVD's are the best selling sports DVD's every year. They sell tons of merchandise. They are selling more tickets than anytime in their history, save the Monday Night Wars. They are getting advertisers without problem. They get very good TV ratings and have no problem landing on a channel. Wrestlemania alone makes them enough money to cover payroll. I'm not saying that don't need to improve. I think they definitely have a lot of room for improvement and they should strive to be better. BUT, they are definitely at a very sustainable level right now and are in no way, shape or form in any kind of trouble. As far as UFC, I think it's worth it to keep an eye on, but I really don't see UFC taking away too many people from wrestling at this point, its a totally different product. I think UFC is a major threat to boxing and boxing promoters should be worried right now. I don't see UFC any more of a threat to WWE than boxing, K-1, Toughman competitions or any other combat sport.

I'm not going to stop watching, but honestly I'm deflated by all this. The WWE had an angle that got my interest like nothing has in a long time. After all this time of putting up with bad guest hosts, lame cartoon skits and just bad acting, they finally deliver something that not only sparked my interest but I found entertaining.
Then it came to this.
Now, make no mistake. I'm no Danielson superfan. I never watched any of his matches before NXT. It's not even about him at all. But in the wake of all this the WWE gets cut down by an "outside source". Of course we can speculate about what that source was and I have my suspicions as well. But after this latest news its made me think what entertains me won't appear on their shows anymore since they now are catering towards toy companies and political campaigns.
So, I probably won't stop watching but I think I've lost a lot of heart in it. Since I watch most of WWE's programming on a DVR anyway I'll just be fast forwarding a lot more
Thankfully I have Lucha Libre! Viva la Dish Network!

I'm not done with WWE because I think this is all a work. At least that is what I lean towards. I just can't see any possible way that they legit fired Danielson for something as small as that when they let a guy like Randy Orton get away with everything under the sun for five years. Not to mention the fact that for the last year they had Orton punting everyone in the head. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) I just don't buy it and I think they are going to great lengths to making it not look like a work. Hell a report just came out this week saying they were going for more reality based storylines.
