It's obvious that it's the movie without Michael Meyers...you know, Friday The 13th Part 6... Don't you mean part 5

Diamonds are Forever. Said NOTHING about the ending of OHMSS. You want to go that route, every Bond film. With the exception of From Russia With Love (SPECTRE trying to kill Bond in retaliation for the death of Dr No is one of the main plot points) and of course Quantum of Solace.

Troll 2 wins this one, guys. Legendarily awful, and completely unconnected to the first film. They weren't even trolls. They were Goblins!! WTF?! God this an awful movie. Not to mention the town they go to is called 'Nilbog', which of course is Killer Goblin spelled backwards....God, what a piece of s***, but still somewhat entertaining in it's awfulness.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace had not much to do with the previous films at all. They brought the dead emperor back, killed Han Solo off screen, and even changed the hero's first name and age as though we were too stupid to notice. LOL!! Nice

Diamonds are Forever. Said NOTHING about the ending of OHMSS. Why do you think that Bond was trying to assassinate Blofeld at the beginning of the film? MI6 would not have likely sent him to do just that since killing one guy would not have done anything to the organization. That was a personal mission that Bond was doing on his own.

Manhunt 2 had no real connection to the first. And that's too bad, because in one night James Earl Cash killed dozens if not hundreds of people including police and swat team members, left video evidence for all of it and we don't even get to know what happened the next day?

Thanks for reminding me of that damned movie. To be fair, it was never meant to be a sequel, but it sucked so hard they titled it Troll II in hopes that people liked Troll would see it.

Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES) Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (NES) Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES) Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land (Gameboy) Paper Mario (N64 - sequel to Super Mario RPG for SNES)
It's funny I can only think of 1st-party Nintendo games that do this...

One or more of the Jaws sequels? 28 Days Later was nothing like 28 Days! (kidding) What, you don't see the connection? ;D Oh, and I'll add the movie "Demons 2" to the list. The only connection appears to be that the movie "Demons" is playing on television when the evil hits the fan.

Iron Monkey 1 and 2. Both movies starred Donnie Yen, yet they are nothing alike.....

I'm sure some sequels to Housenot sure about House 2, but House IV is a direct sequel to I. Part 3 however, was so far removed from the series that they never even released it as House 3 in the US (instead, it was re-titled The Horror Show). Every Chaplin and Three Stooges film or short where they were still the same character but in a completely different era/situation/job All of Universal's Mummy movies (the 1930s/1940s ones, not the Fraser series) after the first one had nothing whatsoever to do with the original.

His cousin went to school with a kid whose father once made a business trip to Holland with a co-worker who at some point had bought a pet dog from a store of which the owner used to live next door to Laurie Strode.
