Grave of the Fireflies is a given.
However, both My Boy Jack and When the Levees Broke left me devastated after watching them.

I wanted to include "Click" in the list, since it's relatively new, and it really got to me.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. If you don't cry at the end of that, you are a horrible person. I laughed my ass off, I am not kidding. That kid was just way to stupid to deserve my emotions, I mean really. Breaking into a concentration camp although your friend tells you that it is pretty bad in there?

Well, since more than one is being posted by some other members, I definitely have to give these two some recognition, even though I already nominated my winner on Page 1 ...

Click was an awfully big 180* in terms of its tone, and Brokeback Mountain wasn't all that uplifting. Well-done movie, but a serious downer.
Also, Persepolis.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. If you don't cry at the end of that, you are a horrible person. Agreed. Also, I'm going a little off track into TV land. The 2 part season finale of House nearly did me in. Poor Wilson. You combine the end of that episode with Iron & Wine's "Passing Afternoon". That's some fine television.

No votes for Terms of Endearment or Beaches yet? Come now! The endings are always killers.
Seriously, the saddest? Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan are up there, same with ET.

That kid was just way to stupid to deserve my emotions, I mean really. Breaking into a concentration camp although your friend tells you that it is pretty bad in there? This When I knew which was the end I was preparing to cry, but then, the final scenes were so bad executed that you just came looking with a big WTF face I mean, the kid, who saw how the jew doctor was beating to dead, how his jew friend was treated like crap, and when he finally entered to the concentration camp, and saw all the shit that happened there, DIDN'T KNOW WTF HAPPENED ON THERE? I knew that when you had 8 years old you're innocent, but under no way you're THAT dumb, to the point that you can't side with him, both were so stupid that in theend, you just don't cared, way to kill credibility

For the longest time, it was Big Fish. However, I think Up might have it beat.

I wasn't able to make it through Requiem for a Dream before turning it off. I thought it was horrible.
John Q gets to me everytime. It's a great movie, but it's sad.

I dunno if this really counts, since it was a "made for tv movie" but Death of the Incredible Hulk always made me cry. All that stuff Banner went through...and that's how he ends up? Especially sad, considering Lou Ferrigno's Hulk was a hero of mine growing up.

I must be in the minority because I don't feel all that sad after watching Requiem For A Dream, I see a bunch of people that screw their lives up knowing what the consequences of their actions will most likely be. I don't sympathize with hard drug addicts. I agree. The only person in that movie I felt somewhat sorry for was Ellen Burstyn's character, but her story was a little too over the top. Elephant Man, however, is heartbreaking.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. If you don't cry at the end of that, you are a horrible person. Agreed. It was sad, but not because the Nazi's son was gassed, but because they were all gassed. Not directed at anyone here, but I've heard people talking about how sad it was that he got caught up in it and that it's so tragic and all I can think is "What the f***?" It's no sadder that he dies. But I guess as the saying goes, the death of one is a tragedy, the death of millions is just a statistic. I wasn't able to make it through Requiem for a Dream before turning it off. I thought it was horrible. My problem with this film is all the little montages and clips of drugs being prepared and injected. Me and my friends were all wetting ourselves laughing each time one appeared on screen. If it wasn't for the fact that we had work the next morning, we'd have made a drinking game out of it.
