A few glitches, but nothing game breaking. Not any different from 3, IMO. May get worse when the DLC hits, like they did in 3, though.
As for the weird stuff, I did see "ROMANES EUNT DOMUS" on a Legion wall from Life of Brian, and I got attacked by the Golden Girls, unfortunatly for them. Also, the last mission had a lot of "Aliens" quotes.

Did anyone else take the Wild Wasteland trait? So far, I've only had one encounter with it, and apparently it was a reference to the Something Awful forums, which I didn't recognize since I don't go there. Hopefully, I'll start seeing some less obscure stuff soon.

I have had some minor bugs and a few freezes, but I expect that as much as I have played... On a side note, I am pretty sure Boone drinks the blood of deathclaws and sleeps on a bed of rusty nails

Just met a dude in the wastes in a Trenchcoat and a hat with a Magnum, who said his Dad left him as a child & was a mysterious fella & his mother said he acted like a stranger sometimes. I C what they did thar.

A friend of mine told me that their's a fridge somewhere and if you open it a Skeleton of Indiana Jones pops out. Yep, there is, and the skeleton is literally broken in half. You can take his hat as well. Gotta love the Wild Wasteland perk, it makes New Vegas feel a lot more like the old Fallout games where you could randomly run into pretty much anything including the whale and the flowerpot from Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy.I was about to come ask about Johnny here because I was sure this scene was a reference to something... ...but looks like the answer was already posted. Looks like the reference actually WAS obscure and it wasn't just me being stupid when I didn't get it. Oh yeah, and this game already feels so much better than Fallout 3. While I didn't hate 3 or anything, it was more like "Oblivion with guns" than a true successor to the Fallout series. New Vegas, however, feels more like a Fallout game than Elder Scrolls, probably because it was developed by many of the same guys who put together the first two games in the series. Of course, I'm playing this in Hardcore Mode because I'M HARDCORE AND THAT'S HOW I ROLL. It's not actually anywhere near as hard as I expected, it's not like your guy will fall down dead if he's not eating or drinking every five minutes or anything. I've been playing for six hours or so and I haven't died a single time yet, although that can probably be partially attributed by the special preorder armor my character is wearing.

The Mysterious Magnum is pretty damn sweet. A .44 with Ivory grips & engraving that does tons of damage, not to mention plays the Mysterious Stranger's little guitar riff everytime you draw & put it back away? Hell Yeah!

Got the game today, it's awesome. I've no idea why folks have been banging on about it been loaded with glitches. I've been playing for about 6-7 hours and the only "glitch" I spotted was a NPC who got stuck in a doorway. The only fault I've found is with the Caravan sub-game. Seriously, could they make that any more complicated and any harder to understand? You don't even get a tutorial for it which might have helped somewhat I'm gonna give Caravan a miss which is a shame since I usually enjoy the card-based mini-games in different RPG's. (Like the FF8/FF9 ones and the one from KOTOR) Caravan though is too complicated

So, for the first time I met a NCR Ranger Veteran. So I thought, "Hell yeah! Me & Boone against this one dude? Easy!" So we charged, I got her down to 50% health with one shot & she killed me with her Uber Revolver. It uses freaking Rifle bullets! I managed to Sneak Crit her with the Mysterious Magnum & finish her off. Worth it for the Bad Ass armour & Hefty Revolver.

I don't really get the whole "this feels more like a Fallout game than Fallout" just because of the guys working on it. How is it anything more than 3 was?
I've played Fallout 2 and don't see how it's at all like that anymore than 3 was.

I just finished it. Honestly, underwhelming. Fallout 3 was more powerful.
Here's what I mean.
Fallout 3: Enclave vs Brotherhood of Steel is a classic battle of good and evil. The BoS is trying to restore the earth, with Project Purity. It's your job to decide if you want to help the world or destroy it. Your decision seems so important, you're literally deciding the fate of the world. Then there's the Mutant equation, which are like the tweeners of the game. Some mutants are legitimately good, and there comes a time in which you have to differentiate between feral and normal mutants. The whole game is literally about purifying the earth or not. It's way more important than New Vegas. As for the game itself, it's more memorable. The soundtrack is better, and more importantly, the very start of the game (you, trying to find your father, escaping from the vault) has an actual direct impact on the ending of the game. It's written better, it's played better, and the game is just simply memorable. Who could forget their first battle with a Super Mutant Behemoth?
Fallout 3 isn't without its downside though. It could have used more sidequests, and it probably could have used more locations and more diverse scenery. But the storyline made up for the game's shortcomings, making Fallout 3 basically unforgettable.
As for New Vegas, it really isn't a battle of good and evil at all. The storyline is just you exacting revenge, and eventually you get caught up in this whole Hoover Dam business. I never cared what happened to Hoover Dam. I wanted to kill Caesar, but that's about it. The storyline as a whole was just not that engaging. The soundtrack was forgettable (I opted to listen to Angus and Julia Stone albums on repeat about halfway through) and Mister New Vegas is NO Three Dog, not by far. Caravan is the stupidest minigame I've ever seen. How the hell do you even play?
Fallout New Vegas has some good parts as well. There's way more quests, and speech, barter, repair, science, etc. all become incredibly useful in dialogue. The invention of Survival skills and the expansion on the weapon/ammo building system was good. I didn't really use it, but it is a killer idea. Hardcore mode is a good change, and the Wild Wasteland perk is definitely unique and awesome.
All in all, I prefer Fallout 3. It's simply more interesting. Fallout New Vegas may be longer and more populated, but Fallout 3 had a more engaging story, and felt like you could really accomplish a goal, changing and shaping the Wasteland. New Vegas just seemed like you were another guy; while you were powerful, there was really no grand scheme for you to change something major. You could sort of shift the balance of power, but that's about it.
To sum up, Fallout New Vegas isn't bad. Not in the slightest. But, Fallout 3 is far more interesting, and far more worth the time.

To sum up, Fallout New Vegas isn't bad. Not in the slightest. But, Fallout 3 is far more interesting, and far more worth the time. To be honest, I disagree with everything you just said about Fallout 3. That game is mostly good (apart from the broken karma system and various other details) until you actually decide to bother with the storyline. In fact, I loved it until I started following the story missions. Then everything just fell apart. Bethesda did a better job with the storyline than they usually do, but all this "classic battle of good vs. evil" crap doesn't belong in Fallout and I for one never once cared the least bit about what happened to the wasteland or the Lone Wanderer's father. The characters are quite weak, the dialogue is even worse, Three Dog is annoying and his shtick feels completely out of place, most of the time there is a distinct lack of shades of gray when it comes to morality choices, and what else... oh yeah, the ending sucks too. A bit less with Broken Steel, but still. As for the music, the only song worth listening to on there is "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire". Well, the only one I remember that doesn't annoy me to no end, anyway. Actually, I think my main problem with Fallout 3 is that it was made by the Elder Scrolls guys. I'm not even a huge fanboy of the old Black Isle games and I can see Bethesda tried hard to make a Fallout game and it was a decent first effort, but even though all the elements are technically in place it doesn't quite capture the proper feel - as expected when you hand a series over to a completely different developer. It's a very watered-down version of Fallout, a theme park version if you will. But hey, if you like it better than New Vegas, go right ahead.

I am loving this game big time. I have about 15 open Quests though. Love the silenced MPG and the grenade gun.
The problem I'm having is I can't seem to find any Stealth Boys anywhere. I got a few at the beginning of the game but I haven't come across a single one since and I'm all out.
I've had a few glitches here and there, but nothing horribly awful.
