Honestly, its not going to be any worse than usual. America the Beautiful, nice as the sentiment is, is a terrible terrible song, and "good" singers always try to show us how awesome they are with all kinda of melismatic phrases and trills and long notes that don't even belong. See Aretha Franklin. Yes Aretha, you're the queen of soul, yes you are, now please step away from the microphone.

Hey, as long as he doesn't get a ten-minute mini concert like Kid Suck, more power to him.

"Heh. Music superstar? Oh man, this is going to be something silly like Kid Rock again? Ha ha. I wonder what wacky schemes Vince is up to this-"

Can't they have one of their own do it? It'd probably be like this if Santino does it.
At WM27
Announcer: And now to honor America, here's Santino Marella.
Santino: O say can you see, by the da da da early light. What we so proudly we-
(Starts messing up the words and the Crowd starts booing and throwing stuff)
Santino: Shouldn't have turned down those cue cards. Ooooh....

I still say he's Ellen Page in disguise.
But he should also sing some his big hits and point the mic to the crowd and have them no-sell Kid Rock style.

I always think that they should attempt to get citizens to sing any nation's anthem. Otherwise I always personally find it odd if I'm aware of the issue. Also, much like the Super Bowl having boy bands as the half time show, this would seem like another case of just shoehorning something that doesn't belong to extend their appeal in hopes of picking up more viewers. I could be wrong, but I have serious doubts that it will do anything but permanently turn the kid's fans forever off the product as Justin is booed out of the arena. I just wish for once they'd know their audience and just go with a more appropriate choice the audience. I'm not really all that familiar with the kid's work, but I'd wager he's got a decent set of pipes and could do a good job, just not for Wrestlemania. I'm thinking classic named talent would be the safe bet and be a win for everyone. So long as they don't "Kid Rock it all up and down the block" so to speak

I don't think he's going to be who they eventually decide on. But he's got a decent voice for someone his age, so eh.

Good on him, I guess. The kid IS considerably talented, given that he can sing, dance, and beat the s*** out of a set of drums. And he seems genuinely humble about it all, so I have no problem with this, even if I don't care for his music or his coven of shrieking tween fans. My only problem is that nobody can talk about music anymore without bringing him up in a derogatory fashion (i.e., go to any music video on YouTube, any video at all, and you're likely to see a comment to the effect of "See? Now this is some REAL music. Not like that Justin Bieber douche."). I don't know why people have to keep bringing him up. I don't remember any other act catching as much s*** simply for existing as this kid. That said, I can definitely see why they're doing it, but it would make more sense being Bieber if WM were in Canada this year. But I guess they're trying to strike while the iron is hot. You know, the opposite of what they usually do with their Superstars. Can I just echo these sentiments especially the youtube one. Video of Panic by The smiths: 'Smithslover267- Hang the DJ! Shoot Justin Beiber!' Video of Goodfellas- 'MafiaDon2478 - Justin Beiber wasn't even born when this came out! I wish Ray Liotta would attack him with a gun LOL! Then my tax problems would erradicate themselves!!!!' Also seriously, I have more chance of singing at Mania than Justin Beiber, and although I hate to do this, I have to call NEWZ. Justin Beiber will engage conflict and interest, so obviously it would behoove random Wrestling site to add 2+2 together. Also would be great business for one of the most recognisable singers in the world to appear at Wrestlemania. Can't fault Vince for trying, and at least trying to keep up to date with the current scene.

Let's take what's written as complete truth. This still only means that there's NEGOTIATIONS for Bieber to perform America the Beautiful. It's possible, hell, it's even likely, but it's nothing concrete.
Now, the "fact" that it would be a terrible musical performance is pretty much fiction as well. Look up some Bieber on Youtube. Stuff where he's left behind the autotune. The kid has a kickass voice and would do great at singing a song without the autotune or any backup dancers or shenanigans like that, just like every other person who's done the song. You'd have to be a blind hater of Bieber to deny that he would at least do a semi-adequate job of the song at the VERY worst.
Finally, something most people have said, there has been bad acts at Wrestlemania before. The DX Band, Rockin Robin et al. were incredibly skippable, but Wrestlemania survived, and it was still a decent show.
So, lay off on the kid. Even if he DOES sing at Wrestlemania, he won't be as bad as any of you think.
