For as much as the guy gets praised for being funny and cool...I always thought he was pretty lame at just about everything. The only time I really liked him is the Hollywood Rock version, the one towards the very end when he was almost insane.

As far as I'm concerned, he got me into professional wrestling - at the age of 17, too.

He was probably the main reason I watched when I was younger. He appealed to many with his charisma along with his comedic relief. Yes he was no ring general...but he entertained and I felt I got my money's worth with him. He's a major part of what has shaped professional wrestling as we know it...good or bad.

When he was straight up face in 2000/2001 he could be really lame, but when he was tweener or straight up heel that guy was always entertaining to me

I found him interesting until he turned face with Foley to form the Rock n Sock Connection.
I liked him on the mic; but towards the end of 2001; I was just sick of his catchphrases.
He forgot where he came from...

I came in just before the Invasion, and never really liked the Rock. His catchphrases seemed to dictate the direction of every one of his promos, even when they didn't fit the tone at all. He did occasionally come up with something quick and clever, but all too often, it was just the same lines, over and over again. Besides, at that time, he had his long rivalry with Chris Jericho, who was infinitely more entertaining. He had his catchphrases too, but he seemed to be able to cut a promo without listing off 15 of them.

Nope. Loved him starting at the tail end of 1999.

Cool but sometimes prone to lame things he tried to get over. Most of the time his catchphrases caught on and became overused on schoolbuses, but sometimes he just missed the mark entirely, like whiskerbiscuit and popcorn fart.

His awesomeness increased when he became "Hollywood Rock".

He was my favorite wrestler. The only bad thing about him was his catchphrases, especially in 2001-02. He wasn't the best in the ring but I enjoyed some of his matchs.

He got people to chant "popcorn fart" on command. I won't dog him for that one becuase of it.

Having a catchphrase is one thing, but sticking 20 of them into one promo for every promo you cut gets obnoxious. Never cared for him.

I always preferred him as a heel. His time in the Nation and the Corporation was awesome but from late '99 up until he went 'Hollywood' I didn't find him as interesting.

Never was a big fan myself, always was more of an Austin guy, but you can't deny his presence and you definitely don't see the energy he put into his work(Austin too) very much these days.

I thought he was cool for the most part, but he did come up with some stupid catchphrases toward the tail end of his tenure. Still, he's one of the most charismatic guys to ever set foot in a wrestling ring, if not THE most charismatic.

As Rocky Maivia, I thought he sucked. But when he joined the Nation and started doing interviews where he would cut off the interviewer and start randomly giving his thoughts on the middle east or whatever, I turned into a huge mark for his. He was always suck an egotistical dick, even as a face, that I loved him all the way through.

At the time, I can remember a lot of hate for Rock for having a limited move set and catering mostly to women and kids...

Whiskerbiscuit was Hilarious!!!!!! So yeah he was and still is insanely cool in my book.
