Daniel Bryan is on his way to jobberville faster than Primo, and I couldn't be happier.

That's true. Whilst I find it an epic theme, it's nothing exactly one you can "pop" to. Macho Man and Ric Flair had similar themes and everyone remembers them. The difference is that they had something at the start to pop at, that being the "OOOOOOOOH YEAH!" & the "WOO!" Get him something that is instantly recognisable at the start and it would get them more pumped up.

If only we had some kind of theme about a clock, or a number getting counted down, and it would help if there was something finite about it, final even........ I got it! GIVE HIM "DARE TO BE STUPID"!

I think its more him than his music.

When you're in the crowd, it sounds a LOT different than it does on live TV. If I judged the public's opinions of wrestlers based on my experience being the crowd, then Chavo would be the most over face on the entire roster because the area I was sitting in went crazy for the guy.
Also, as somebody said, people get different levels reactions in different cities.

I dunno...DBD has been getting the Conway pop lately, even before Sheamus destroyed him.

He never came out to silence even with the Hardcore Holly theme. What made WWE think their fans would react to "Ride of the Valkyries"?

Seems that people really don't know how to react to Ride of the Valkyries, which leads me to think it won't last as his theme. Give him a helicopter to go with it and he would be super over. Daniel Bryan loves the smell of napalm in the morning.

I dunno...DBD has been getting the Conway pop lately, even before Sheamus destroyed him. This. Like I said in the other thread, watch HIAC. DBD Gets absolutely ZERO reaction whatsoever. Complete apathy. Fans in the aisles weren't sticking their hands out to high-five him, and the kids sitting in the front when he was walking up the steps couldn't have cared less. There was a decent pop for winning, though I'm not entirely convinced it was because DBD won. I think it was more because Miz lost. Nothing against the guy, I think he's a great wrestler. But some people have to start admitting that he's not getting the reactions that some people claim he is, and that it's possible he simply won't get over in the WWE.

Like I said earlier, I was there live and he got a decent pop once he was insight of the crowd. Just they died off when Ride... played. I will say that most of the kids were cheering for Morrison and wanted nothing to do with Bryan and Miz, while the men were cheering for Bryan. Strangely, the women were cheering Miz.

Did you completely miss Night of Champions where the fans were cheering wildly for him? I'll have to go back and watch, but I'll ask this: Were they cheering for Bryan, or were they simply cheering against Miz? Or were they just cheering for a title change? There's a distinct difference between the three. Even if he did get a good reaction at NOC, it doesn't change the fact that he got absolutely NO reaction at all at HIAC. It could be simply a different crowd, but it could also be that now that fans saw him get his big win over Miz, they stopped caring. If the OP is correct, maybe the fans really have stopped caring.

The fans were just confused and thought Darren Young was John Cena

So to the 10,000 people in attendance, he got a mild reaction. But to the 150,000 people watching at home (not counting those watching torrents, etc.), it definitely came off as a conway pop at best. Even by your own accounts, the reaction he got leaned towards apathy. That's still not a very good sign.

We're overlooking the fact that Darren Young has ridiculously awesome theme music.
EDIT: Also, this argument is really flawed. You CAN'T judge how over somebody is by the pop that they get.
Darren Young was likely, what, one of the first ..if not THE first guy out there during the night? Crowds pop huge for people off the bat.
Like, if this were 5 years ago, would we be saying Val Venis was the most over guy on the roster just because he gets the "Hey, we recognize that guy!" pop?

Screw Bryan, why aren't we talking about how Darren Young should be in line for a big push?

By contrast, going back to my HIAC example, Daniel Bryan was in the first match of the night, and got nothing. And that was on PPV, where the crowds are generally (but admittedly, not always) hotter. And actually, Val Venis was pretty damn over. Some of today's midcarders would kill to get the pops that he was able to get.

NOW I have heard every DBD excuse there is! "You can't judge someone's overness by the pop they get? !" LOL
