I use celebrities loosely. Just tell us about your most obscure linkings to someone even remotely famous.
For example, I was once close friends with a guy whose best friend's brother played DVS on Trailer Park Boys.
Also, a bit less out there, my mom once met Rob Lowe, and nodded hello at Ethan Hawke when he was eating lunch across from her.
Go!

I saw Jarvis Moss at an ESPN Zone in Denver, and Jay Cutler walked past us at a Broncos fan fair...........................................That's about it.

Also, for the Canadian 'Crappers, I've walked past 22 Minutes' Mark Critch a total of three times. And once I got a "hey"!

I saw Bill Murray at a Chicago Cubs game when I was about 9 or 10. Shook his hand, told him he was awesome in Ghostbusters, and shared a "Go Cubs!" with him.
Also, I met Road Warrior Animal once at a comic book store opening. And, if you wanna reeeeaally stretch it ... my dad goes to a University of Michigan football game every year; U of M's main rival is Ohio State, and Ohio State is the school where "Baby Animal" James Laurinitis (a.k.a. Animal's son/Johnny Ace's nephew) plays/played.

I met Garth Brooks at a family cook-out when I was around 5. I think he knew one of my dad's distant cousins or something.
Also, he played the old 1960s Batman TV show theme song for me.

I've written a few scripts that some fairly well known celebrities have read.

I know the actor Josh Stewart. He currently plays The Watcher on No Ordinary Family. He was also Holt on the FX show Dirt and starred in the horror movie The Collector. He's also had roles in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button,Law Abiding Citizen, and The Haunting Of Molly Hartley. He is a cousin to my first cousin but he and I aren't related. He used to come to my cousin's house when we were younger and we'd hang out. He was also the guy in this commercial: www.dailymotion.com/video/x2fssp_pub-levis-501-original-jeans-avec-j_adsI'm also related to Chuck Yeager(the first man to break the sound barrier in a plane). He and my Grandma were first cousins.

Oh yeah! My wife used to hang out with Gary Busey's niece (back when they were in high school) and she had an opportunity nto do make up for a Dio video, but she declined. She did, however, get to meet Dio's keyboard player.
He wanted to bang her; he even not-so-discreetly said so. ;D

I've met a few celebrities but I'll save those for another time.
I went to high school with, and was at one time friends, with Paula from The Real World.
My brother publicly knocked out James Van Der Beek back in high school. My brother's girlfriend at the time was active in a community theater in Cheshire, CT (one town away from us). She played the role of Sandy when the group performed Grease and James Van Der Beek played the role of Danny. Apparently Sandy and Danny decided to hook up for real off stage and when my brother found out about it he walked up to him and punched him in the face after the show. And then a few years later that dude had his own TV show. So he kinda won.

I took an orchestra class with Seahawks LB Aaron Curry in middle & high school. He was also in my homeroom in 8th grade. In addition to that, my brother played football with his brother.

I locked eyes with Kato Kaelin on 6th ave. I once rang up the guy from the pool fight in Lionheart. I ran into Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day as he was returning movies his stepmother rented before a concert.

Pete Rose once said hi to me at an airport. I once thanked Ralph Nader for speaking at my campus (though more as a courtesy). JR has answered a few of my questions on his blog. Most recently, on Saturday, I was at the Sharks game, and their GM, Doug Wilson, looked right at me when he addressed a bunch of us fans outside the arena saying today would be the day they broke their losing streak (which we did).

I took part in a friend's Boy Scout Eagle ceremony. Also getting his Eagle that night was Andrew Shue (Melrose Place). His sister, Elisabeth Shue, was also there.
When the wife and I were just dating, we got second row tickets to see Brian Setzer at the Greek Theater. While walking to our seats, Andrew Dice Clay was right in front of us. He tried to talk his way into the 'pit' but security wouldn't let him in. They made him go to his seat about 6 rows behind us.

I was an extra in The Damned United with Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall. I was a few feet away from Sheen during a few scenes and during a break from filming I got his autograph Oddly though, despite been close to the main cast member, I actually don't show up in the film at all other than a microsecond fleeting glance during a crowd shot. I was so disapointed since I was kinda expecting a full face shot or something. I also once held a shop door open for Brian Blessed. I didn't recognise him at all at the time, just thought it was a big bloke with a beard but when I got home I found out Blessed was in town to do something with the local theatre, I think it was to show support for some campaign or another to keep it open.
