I'd only see Rey getting booed if he didn't wrestle the way he used to, which from interviews he's wanted too for at least any ECW shows he was a part of. But with a nagging injury, I don't know.
And I wasn't implying that you felt that way, but I've seen more than a few blowhard "how can anyone possibly like/look forward to this" posts around here. Which I find a tad hypocritical, considering they've crapped on everything that they thought would be complete crapfests but turned out to be decent (last year's ONS, Boogeyman, Spirit Squad, ect.)

Rey got booed a lot last year, BEFORE the Eddie stuff, I'm sure it'll be worse this time around.

As top blow hard and resident know it all I never bashed the first One Night Stand. I have bashed the Boogeyman and Spirit Squad because they suck donkey balls and I shall continue to do so. There is nothing hypocritical about identifying crap and calling it crap before it happens (just like the Spirit Squad). It would be hypocritical to develop an opinion on something then keep it quiet under a fake shroud of neutrality instead of being honest.

I meant the people who bashed the hell out of the Spirit Squad and boogeyman then did a 180 and professed their love to them. You clearly seem to not be one of those folks, but I do feel you blow things out of proportions, which partially irks me considering I always found you a levelheaded guy with mostly accurate perceptions. And we all develop opinions, it's human nature, there's no avoiding it. We make opinions on people on the first half-second we meet them. But I never expresss my opinion as truth or that it has merit when the circumstances around it haven't even happened yet. God, I need some time away from here.

If this was Rey vs. Sabu like in 96-97 when Rey was pulling out MOTY's with Eddie Guerrero and Ultimo Dragon then I'd be all for it. However, he's been injured several times and now wrestles the WWE style, the match will be toned down and pretty short as well.
I think they'll be 6 matches or so on the PPV, like last year's (I think). Hopefully, not too much filler in between.
And the PPV better end on a high (pardon the pun) with RVD winning the title, even if they do a Dusty finish with it the next night.

YJC are you going to the ppv or try getting in, or will you just order it on ppv? I am going to go even though I have no gauranteed way in. I have no ticket. I don't have $39.95 for a ppv. So if I don't go, I can't see it. Rey COULD DEDICATE something to Eddie and should, I have a hunch he would. He misses Eddie too. Why don't you go and try to get in, and make a sign for Eddie Guerrero or something? To dedicate to him. I can make one for John Cena and dedicate a sign to him...but I am afraid he is going to be harmed and him winning is going to put him into the position of having to do a cage match or some kind of gimmick match at Vengance since his fans who go on his myspace don't seem to care about him being safe. They just want him to do gimmick matches. Which sucks ass! I am confused about what to even put on the sign for Cena though. But I will come up with something.....
I too am not exactly sure how to take this ppv since on the one hand I am psyched and on the other hand I am not. Maybe it is both. But I want to go to protect John Cena. You know you can go to the ppv to protect Rey Mysterio if you choose. That wouldn't be wrong to do.

Lol, warriorthug, no thanks to be honest I would go if there would tickets available, however they sold out in under a few hours. Secondly, I don't think Rey has anything to really fear, he may get some cheers, but seeing as who's he facing, I doubt that will last very long as the fans will eventually see it as ECW vs. WWE and end up booing him before long.

God, Rey has dedicated nothing to Eddie in the past month or 2. Let it go, and I'm not just aiming that at you, but people in general. And it's gonna be 39.95. I think so anyways. Yeah, that frog splash at Judgment Day a couple weeks ago wasn't a dedication to Eddie at all.

Fans who like wrestlers like them, even if they are confused about what to do at times. Maybe those who are confused are supposed to be at times so they don't screw up. I am confused. I want to do two things at once but can't.

I have no problem with people bashing something and doing a 180 on it because that is life. Opinions change, and while mine have not on duds like the Spirit Squad, they have on other things. The new ECW is 1 where my opinion went from positive to negative and I feel I have clearly stated why. However, I loathed the thought of Eugene before he started and then he won me over, so I am flexible. I take a stand and stand behind it. I admit I have lost some of my level headed ness. I just get so mad at the crap that goes on then read something dumb like Sabu versus Rey for the World title and I blow my stack. When fans get angry and turn away is when things get done, so I am for a little more emotion and a little less objectivity.

I'm still trying to figure out yours. My point was that you said that Rey was through dedicating stuff to Eddie, and I was saying that by continuing to perform the guy's signature moves and celebrating with the guy's family after matches, he's absolutley still dedicating stuff to him, and that's it's time enough he let it go (same for Benoit, IMO). Jeezum Crow, the guy's been gone almost half a year now, forget stealing the guy's moveset like it was his tribute show and just go on being Rey Mysterio.

If anything, I think if it was up to Rey he would have stopped a very very long time ago. But that's not the case. Heels like JBL and Orton have had to (against their will as well I would automatically assume have had to use Eddie as a way to get heat. The Chavo thing I admit has some Eddie undertones, most likely, but that hasn't been the focal point of it yet.
Then again, alot of the fans need to let it go too.

The only thing I hold against Rey and Benoit in this whole thing is that they (I believe) are not telling WWE that it's time to drop the whole Eddie thing. I hear people chant "Eddie" at events, and at this juncture it's just mind-numbing why. I mean why is he still being exploited for storylines (and exploited is definately the right word, they are not "paying tribute", they're trying to milk out every last dollar from the growing Latino market). What's even more mind-numbing is that Chavo would still have anything to do with the company for the whole "Eddie's in Hell" angle.

I don't think the fans are really at fault, I mean they are just reacting to what they see on TV. I'm sure if they hadn't mentioned Eddie up and down like his name was going out of style then the fans wouldn't be so upset over it. As long as they don't bring Eddie's wife for every single title defense or anything, then it should be alright from here on out. I hope he loses the belt, but I surely know it's not going to happen at ECW ONS 2.

Well there's no doubt that I'm sure they've expressed their sentiments, since I do feel theat it's starting to go down.
