I posted this in the last thread, but I'm posting it again because my local paper mentioned the fact it had made news in England.
Kevin Muscat got suspended for the rest of the season for probably the ugliest tackle ever seen in an Australian league, and will almost certainly never play in the A-League again (he is expected to announce his retirement after the AFC Champions League).

van der sar to retire at the end of the season. I hate when awesome players retire, he could go another season yet. A main reason behind it is due to the condition of his wife, which is hard to fault really, and sums up the man as a character. He will be incredibly difficult to replace, his experience has been one of the key reasons our defence has been so miserly, not to mention his ability.

Liverpool have agreed a £23million fee with Ajax for Luis Suarez. I wasn't a fan of his display in the World Cup Quarter Final but he's a pretty good goalscorer.
We also told Chelsea that Torres is not for sale today. Hopefully, he'll stay when he sees us signing players but this could also mean that we'll sell him if Chelsea up their offer.

Great result for Celtic tonight. Not just the score line, the performance was superb as well. I've not seen us playing like that in years. Plus it sorts out all this Hearts being challengers nonsense that was the talk of the town for the last few days. Yeah that really confused me too Okay they've done well this season, and yes they beat Rangers at Tynecastle but I was shocked at the (what I felt) OTT reaction to Hearts beating Rangers as if they've never beaten an Old Firm team in like ever Hearts at Tynecastle is always a tough game no matter how good or poor they've been doing Also I'd like to add, I always though Holloway was mental but the sort of money hes talking about for Charlie Adam makes me think he should be locked up lol

And now Torres has handed in a transfer request which Liverpool have rejected. If Chelsea upped the offer to £50 million, I get the feeling Liverpool will accept it and I wouldn't blame them.

I read somewhere that when Muscat was at Wolverhampton he once tackled a guy so bad, doctors recommended amputation because there were so many injuries.

Brisbane now hold the longest undefeated streak in professional Australian football history. 23 in a row!
Brisbane Roar 2 (Solorzano 5', Meyer 62') - Melbourne Heart 1 (Sibon 75')
Adelaide United 1 (Dodd 90+1') - Central Coast Mariners 2 (Perez 11', Rose 30')
Perth Glory 0 - Sydney FC 2 (Carle 9', Cazarine 53')

Good game today 2 Men sent off and still managed to win 4-3 against Stenhousemuir. Looks like being a three Horse race for the Automatic Promotion place in the Second Division with Livingston and Brechin also winning today. Some results today in the League. 4-3 between Ayr and Stenhousemuir 4-3 between Livingston and East Fife. Peterhead beating playoff chasing Alloa 4-1. And people say there is no entertainment in the Lower Leagues in Scotland .

Kevin Muscat was a bit of an ass when he played for Ragers he would deliberate leave an odd foot in when he went for challenges. There is a story that because of his attitude (Leaving foot in) he wasn't picked for an Old Firm game at his time at rangers.

Got away with it a bit there. Giggs was once again the difference, what a legend.
I see Japan beat Australia in the Asian Cup final. That is an upset surely?

No not really Japan have won the AFC Asian Cup Three out last Four times.
That's like saying Egypt winning the African Nations is a shock if they beat Ivory Coast in the Final.
Japan and South Korea are the Super powers in Asia in a few years Australia should be up there both International and Club wise. Though Salary cap might hold there Clubs battling against J-League and the K-League.

Manchester United vs. Crawley Town.....blimey. This is huge news where I live (10 minute car ride from Crawley) and a tie Crawley fans have been dreaming about for years. Everybody I've spoken to is desperate for a ticket it's madness.
A truly exciting day and weekend indeed.

And the player went into retirement.

The Chelsea vs Everton replay is on the day scheduled for the next round so God knows when we'll play our game as the bloody Champions league and international break are getting in the way.
On the plus side Chelsea could beat Everton and end up with a huge fixture pile-up that could result in them playing a weakened team. I think they have to rearrange a fixture with Man Utd too.

On paper, United should destroy them (and most likely will) but I bet there's a little voice saying "imagine if we lost to them". When Liverpool drew Havant and Waterlooville in the Cup a few years back, although I was confident we'd beat them, there was still the voice saying "you'll never live it down if we lose".

I just keep thinking about Exeter a few years ago. If Crawley somehow manage to beat us, I can't think of many bigger shocks, but at the end of the day it's 11 versus 11, who knows? A main reason behind it is due to the condition of his wife, which is hard to fault really, and sums up the man as a character. You can take the 2011 equivalent of Andy Goram from Rangers if you want in Alan McGregor.
