Liverpool just had a goal disallowed for offside. According to the BBC, Torres was clearly onside. So obviously Male linesmen need to be taught the offside rule.

I hope that this whole lineswoman incident has been put behind football now, and that all female officials in the male game will be treated equally.
ie, they are able to be criticised, just like the males are!

Exactly, all officials make mistakes and she will too no doubt. Birmingham into the Carling Cup Final after beating West Ham 3-1 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate. All 4 goals tonight were great, 3 screamers and a bullet header.

It amazed me to find out how out of touch I was with Scottish football. I looked at the teams for Celtic's match and I hadn't heard of some of the players and others I didn't realise were at Celtic.
I still wonder if Cardiff go up this year, if Joe Ledley is going to want to go back.

I shall endeavour to get back into it Man I was a HUUUUGE fan in the first Walter Smith Rangers era, fell away, and then was a huge fan of Steven Thompson, who I thought could have achieved so much more, and got back into things then. I fell away once Martin O'Neill left Celtic though, Gordon Strachan is not my favourite footballing personality.

My Main concern with Scottish Football is league reconstruction but if i started that i would need whole new thread to myself and my views on why i think a 10 team premier League and 12 team Championship sucks.

Great result for Celtic tonight. Not just the score line, the performance was superb as well. I've not seen us playing like that in years. Plus it sorts out all this Hearts being challengers nonsense that was the talk of the town for the last few days.

Radio Scotland will be back to League Construction, Hibs Crisis and yup that's right ignoring life outside of the SPL.

In my lifespan a team thats not Celtic/Rangers have never won the SPL/Scottish League.
I really would like to see Hearts win it. If it wasn't for Romanov they would have won it in 05/06!

If it wasn't for Romanov they would never been in that position to begin with. In my Life time i have only seen 7 sides win the Premier League/ First Division. Liverpool (shock), Everton (God no Really?), Leeds United (what.. never), Manchester United, Blackburn (gasp), Arsenal, Chelsea. Fact i'm that old i can remember Luton winning the League Cup. Stop the snickering in the corner you. Shakes his walking stick at the young ones. Oh yeah as for Scotland i can remember Aberdeen winning the League, Dundee United not so much i was just in dipers at the time.

In my lifetime (well, since I was 7 as it's first champion was only crowned in 1992) 5 teams have won the Welsh Premier League. Cwmbran Town (Now in WFL Division 3, the equivalent of League 2 in England, although in ranking only, and it only covers the South of Wales), Bangor City (One of the few ever present sides), Barry Town (now in WFL Division 1, equivalent to The Championship but only in the South), TNS (who won it 3 times as Total Network Solutions and another twice since they became The New Saints after BT brought Total Network Solutions), Rhyl (who, after the league restructured last year, had their Premiership license revoked, despite finishing 6th of 18 and now play in The Cymru Alliance, equivalent to The Championship, but only in the North) and Llanelli who despite being one of the worst teams in the Welsh prem every year up until 3 years ago, only got relegated once. A simple and uncomplicated history, no?

I remember Total Network Solutions, Ayr United did a tour of duty around wales which involved TNS and some other sides i can just remember them cause the name i thought it was cool at the time.
Now we just play Friendlies against Ayrshire Junior teams. Junior being equivalent Semi Pro in England.

paddy mccourt better start getting in the northern ireland team, he is ripping it up this season. Tbh he is only really effective when he comes off the bench late in mathes. Playing from the start, or being brought on early (as was the case last night due to injury) usually means he'll be crap. He was Celtic's worst player last night, the goal was the only thing he did right all night.

I didn't start following football until 2005 (hopped on the World Cup bandwagon, but never got off of it like 90% of the country did), and the A-League started around the same time.
Either way, only 3 teams have ever won the A-League (the A-League is one of the few football leagues that I know that has a postseason). These being Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory twice, and Newcastle Jets once.

van der sar to retire at the end of the season. I hate when awesome players retire, he could go another season yet.

Fact MLS is the only League in North America that doesn't have a Apertura (Opening) Winner and Clausura (Closing) Winner.
