Resident Evil 4 is extremely overrated. "Let's take out all the puzzles and other suspensful stuff that made our series popular and turn it into a shooting game!". Meh. Not that most of the puzzles were more than fetch quests in older ones, anyway. "I wonder if this elephant key is for that elephant door." They've aged badly, yes, but I'll be damned if those weren't the glory days.

STREET FIGHTER IV, MORTAL KOMBAT 9 AND MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3 OR SONIC 4 ARE NOT 2D! I'm so tired of the ''2d game'' In japan none of those games is considered a 2d game, because they still are 3d in a side scroller enviroment'' I'm so tired of this argument I'm really tired of the opposite argument, because it completely ignores gameplay and bases it solely off of graphics. I never understood why people based it solely off of graphics, especially when it leads to strange calculations like 2.5 D and a big shrug when presented with a game with free roaming environments or rendered backgrounds. and cel-shaded graphics. I don't think it matters what bit what they consider it in Japan either.

The Resident Evil series on the PS always depended more on annoying mechanics like overly annoying controls and bloody annoying fetch quests rather than true horror. Did anyone find the zombies scary at all?

I'm so tired of the ''2d game'' In japan none of those games is considered a 2d game, because they still are 3d in a side scroller enviroment'' I'm so tired of this argument Also, ''this game is not worthy of $60'' I don't get that either, lots of games not necesarily needs to had s***loads of content to be worthy $60 it all depends on how much time do you want to spend with them, lots of guys with fighting games just in training mode and online spend like 1000 hours. Now, I know that not everybody should spend that much time in a game,b but for example, modern warfare 2 is a game that I don't wanted to expend to much time to beat it, just that, maybe 20 hours at best, but I'm not posting ''this game shouldn't be $60 because I only played 20 hours'' stupid argument Also for some reason, northamericans believe that ANY game that is with sprites should be necesarily on XBLA or PSN They're 2d because the games are played entirely in two dimensions with no third dimension interaction whatsoever (see sidestepping in games like SC or Tekken or ironically enough the later Fatal Fury games). Polygons do not automatically make a game 3d. Also I'm so sick and tired of 'realistic' first person shooters. Games like Call of Duty put me right to sleep.

FF IX is a really overlooked Final Fantasy, with who I think is one of the franchise's best villains. Yes, Kuja > Kefka and Sephiroth.
I haven't liked any 3D wrestling game since Here Comes The Pain.
Sonic Adventure 2 ruled.
CoD is the one FPS series whose games I haven't utterly sucked at.

Windwaker is the best 3d Zelda. The 360 offers nothing that the PC can't do 10 times better. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.

CoD World at War was by far more enjoyable game than Modern Warfare. Everyone I've talked to thinks that WaW pails in comparison. I can see why people may like MW better but, the settings of WaW were so awesome to me that going to the present was severly underwhelming. It was such a letdown to me that I sort of don't want to bother with MW2.

The Wii is without a doubt the worst console I ever had the misfortune of owning. 3rd party support was terrible unless you liked shovelware, WiiWare sucked mostly, Virtual Console has been all but abandoned, multiplatform games sucked hard, and the online... don't get me started on the online. This is about UNPOPULAR game opinions. Gamers crap all over the Wii on a daily basis. As for my opinions ... For all of the crap the Metal Gear Solid games get about 10 minutes of gameplay and 30 of cut-scenes, Final Fantasy VII pioneered this. I spent 20 hours on that game, and played for about half that, because it's one tedious cut-scene with a lengthy box of text after another. And the story is a blatant plagarism of Phantasy Star II. While the number of overall games was less, the ratio of quality games to crap on the Saturn made it LEAGUES better than the Playstation. Shining The Holy Ark>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>any RPG on Playstation. I don't see anything wrong with EA essentially issuing roster updates as full games every year. Nobody's forcing people to buy them. If you like 2008, play it to your heart's content. Do you really NEED Matt Stafford and Mark Sanchez? Multiplayer is stupid. It's either (for sports games) a big penis-waving contest, or (for FPS games) an elaborate game of tag. A true challenge is defeating the challenges laid out by the developers. I get no satisfaction from blowing up some twit in Minnesota ... but I do get a sense of accomplishment when I BEAT THE GAME. Jed Shaffer ~And Zelda II is definitely my favorite, so you aren't alone, Disaster Report.

Everything about Sonic 2006 was solid other than the actual gameplay. The graphics, the music, the plot, loved it all. The so called 'bestiality' of Elise kissing Sonic is just a reversal of the classic 'hero kisses a princess to wake them up' fairy tale, and anyone reading sexual aspects into it is just showing their own lack of maturity.
Raiden was an excellent character in MGS2, and his story and development were more interesting than another Solid Snake story would have been at that point.
Masato Nakamura made the Mega Drive sing better than Jun Senoue can manage with any modern console that's come since. And he did a better job than Michael Jackson, too.
Prerendered 3D models being used in the place of sprites has ruined just about every game it's been tried in. Sprites still look better than low-res models with reduced colours. And high-res sprites like Blazblue's look way better than cel-shaded stuff like Street Fighter. Pixels>Bad 3D.

I know plenty of things related to the Mortal Kombat series and it is a good diversion from time to time, yet it is one of my least favorite fighters because of low variety of moves and/or not enough difference in the fighting styles of the characters.

I don't like any of the Metroid games. I've had Metroid for the NES as a kid, didn't like it then and things weren't much different when I played it on Virtual Console as an adult. I've tried to play Super Metroid several times and never really found it to be very fun either. I also didn't like Metroid Prime.
I just don't get it. They're definitely not bad games. I don't think it's got anything to do with the difficulty either (though I do suck at Metroid) because I love the Mega Man games on the NES.

FF7 is way over rated. But then the last good FF was 6.
Virtua Fighter series is just plain boring.

Red Dead Redemption was okay, but I didn't have nearly as much fun with it as I did even the worst of the Grand Theft Auto series. Part of it is that the horses just seem so slow, and I miss the radio stations and more modern themes. I was the total opposite. I had more fun playing Red Dead for a 3 day rental then I have in years of owning GTA games. I especially felt it blew IV out of the water, the only one that came even close for me is San Andreas. Although, I'm also a really big Western fan.

Damn the multiplayer one is a good unpopular opinion, many of my favourite games are multiplayer and to me nothing in videogames beats a close match/fight/race that is won in the last minute (although I’m talking about local multiplayer).
Gamers create a lot of the problems the industry has ourselves, we let the innovative games come down in price but buy the AAA games on the launch date, many see nothing wrong with pirating everything (especially on handhelds) and if we don’t like something we buy it anyway (see the COD boycott, DLC etc). (Yes I’m guilty of some of this myself)
Then there’s the humble indie bundle, several great games that you can pay what you want for, most of that money goes to charity (or all if you want) and people still only pay $0.01 for it.
Oh and I think the Wii is great (despite it’s flaws) and that it will be remembered fondly in years to come.
